And yeah, if there aren't enough ace characters in media for solid patterns to form, that's not really a problem that will be solved by keeping asexuality.
Again I'm not using it as a reason to keep it, just saying why it is not as easy of a decision.
For me, it's a really odd thing. I want to keep the trope personally but at the time I know we can't and I need to be objective about that.

CM Sandboxes, MB SandboxesI still think it's a valid option to retool Asexuality into No Interest In Romance (people interested in romance but not sex would fall under Romantic Asexual).
Chaste Hero actually has less overlap with Asexuality than I thought. A Chaste Hero is a hero who is oblivious to sexual/romantic advances. In this Image Pickin' thread, one troper suggested it should be renamed to something like Clueless Chaste Hero, while another wondered the difference from Clueless Chick-Magnet, but that's probably beyond the scope of this thread.
Keet cleanupI'm for disambiguating Asexuality into the asexual/aromantic tropes we have, and then making a broader trope for No Interest In Romance.
Hence why I made this post for specification; aromanticism and asexuality are different so you can't just turn Asexuality into No Interest In Romance. It could be included on a disambig though.

I do some cleanup and then I enjoy shows you probably think are cringe.I still don't think we should convert Asexuality into No Interest In Romance, but if it becomes a separate split trope I'd be more okay with it.
Currently Working On: Incorruptible Pure PurenessIf we make a No Interest In Romance it should probably have different title to hammer in that the character has no interest in romance - it probably wouldn't happen, but I feel like not making it explicitly clear the character has no interest in romance would cause shoehorns of any character that just never ends up in a romantic relationship.
Jawbreakers on sale for 99¢Does Not Like Romance? Snowcloney but makes it more obvious that the character actively doesn't want a relationship.
I do some cleanup and then I enjoy shows you probably think are cringe. All these titles make me think of Stock Phrases, someone with a career or something saying them, then BAM. Love at First Sight or something?

We also have Queer Establishing Moment now, which isn’t specific to aces but could probably take some of the examples.

I guess I'm a little concerned that there's a blur between asexuality as a sexuality and aromanticism as a narrative choice, especially because ace does not always entail aromanticism. So a trope about no interest in romance wouldn't actually cover all ace representation, and it seems like it'd be talking about a different thing, where the lack of romance isn't contextualized within sexuality but character backstory, and that would make ace examples feel weird there. We could go ahead and make "No Interest in Romance", but in no way do I think that would be the fix for representing asexuality in the wiki discussion.
No, but we have Romantic Asexual already so a lot of the examples on just Asexuality are aro aces.
I'd like to see an asexual counterpart to Trans Relationship Troubles, though. I think that could easily get enough examples.

I agree to a cut and split. The trope is chairs. I do think No Interest In Romance should be a trope.
Why waste time when you can see the last sunset last?Isn't that Celibate Hero?
I'm pretty sure No Interest In Romance (or whatever we call it) would be a supertrope for that, because it wouldn't be limited to heroic characters; any character could count, such as side characters.

Patiently awaiting the release of Paper Luigi and the Marvelous Compass.TBH I'm not sure why Celibate Hero has to be limited to heroes to begin with. Barring the Villainous Aromantic Asexual, how is "character is not interested in romance/sex, but he's The Hero" functionally different from "character is not interested in romance/sex, everone else"?

How many of them are actually heroes anyway? Since Aromantic is a redirect there?
Disambig Needed: Help with those issues! tvtropes.org/pmwiki/posts.php?discussion=13324299140A37493800&page=24#comment-576I also think a Not Interested In Romance page should be made independently of this TRS. The concept is related to Asexuality at best.
I agree. I'm not a fan of attaching TLP drafts to TRS threads unless it's absolutely necessary (such as if a trope is split, like what happened with Everythings Better With Princesses and The Southpaw).

Patiently awaiting the release of Paper Luigi and the Marvelous Compass.Right, that trope can be made regardless of any decisions made here.
Currently Working On: Incorruptible Pure PurenessI am an ace too.
What should we do about the Sex Is Boring redirect? It redirects to Asexuality.
Kirby is awesome.Spin it off as its own trope?
Why is Romantic Asexual tropeworthy while Asexuality isn't? And I don't think Aromantic should redirect to Celibate Hero.
Keet cleanupI could see Sex Is Boring working as its own trope as a trope for characters who find sex boring for some reason. Assuming there are enough examples.

Crown Description:
Ultimately I do agree that it should be cut as it isn't a trope. It's just not as easy of a call to make due to the serve lack of asexuality tropes even worse than the number of Bisexual tropes (at least those can usually fit under broad LGBT tropes). We could make more tropes but the issue that any asexuality trope will run into is that asexual characters are so rare finding enough examples will be hard. The LGBT representation index idea seems like the best solution.
