So, it's been told that first person writing is not allowed on wiki articles. And now we have an Administrivia page for First-Person Writing providing further details.
The huge undertaking for this is that first person entries are rampant out there; more in Fridge, Headscratchers, WMG, and Gush articles. A lot of them are very old, and there is no absolute idea on who wrote it. It gets worse that it's written on thread mode aagreeing or disagreeing on that paragraph, using "This troper...", and in troper tales format.
So, it goes without saying that this is an opportunity to start a cleanup for first person writing in wiki articles.
Such cleanup will need the following recommendations:
- DMOS threads get a pass, as long as they have signatures written.
- Do not use signatures in speculative pages.
- When removing first person entries outside of quotations, reword the entry while keeping the original meaning.
- Remove an entry if it's mainly on troper tales.
To spread awareness to this thread, consider the following:
- Check the page's history;
- Track down every troper who used first person writing;
- Check their edit history;
- If they had any recent activity of at least 4-6 weeks, contact them that they had used first person writing of said page, and link them to this thread.
So, yeah.

I've googled it up, are they refering to this [1]? It's not from Visa though, and I have issue finding any other mention of "breathe me" and "2008 olympics".
TroperWall / WikiMagic CleanupIf an example sounds incorrect or Examples Are Not Arguable then yes, especially with "I think".

TroperWall / WikiMagic CleanupI have cut that example.
Kirby is awesome.Found this on Dream (bolded for visibility):
- Four-Temperament Ensemble: Actually, there's 6 of them:
- Sanguine: George, the 2nd most agressive hunter right behind Sapnap, with proficient skills to prove, unfortunately for him he's also prone to being a bit of a Ditz and is definitely one of the loudest hunters when need be, I mean talk about those bloody screams!

he/himEnsemble tropes being a plague aside, I'd think "there's 6" may invalidate the example. Also, "Actually," violates Word Cruft.
TroperWall / WikiMagic CleanupI cut it because it was misuse; if an "example" of FTE starts with "actually, there's 6", then it's not an example.
Found on Literature.Wolf Breed. Currently commented out as it's also a ZCE.
- The Atoner- I think Lilly might just be everyone's favorite German war criminal.
UsefulNotes.Tenses has some first-person writing.
The Fridge page for Final Fantasy IX has a lot of First Person Writing.
She/Her | Currently cleaning N/AHello, while taking a brief glance at Star Trek: The Original Series I noticed this first-person entry that also doubles as conversation in the main page:
- Girl-Show Ghetto: It was initially seen as dumb sci-fi show for girls (and yaoi fangirls, who saved the show for a third season and were rewarded by making some fic official), and looked down on by “serious” sci-fi fans. Grace Lee Whitney mentioned how she thought Spock and Kirk would never catch on, only being thought of at first as “weird” and “eye candy” respectively.
- First-generation TOS fan (and fan campaign participant, Class of '69) here: I'm leaving this as is, to exemplify how the popular view of the show and the legend of the fan campaigns and revival has changed over the decades. The real story is a bit more complex and can be found in the History of Star Trek Fan Campaigns at Fanlore. The show appealed to people of every gender, age and profession, and was saved by hundreds of thousands of letters from them. Star Trek was highly regarded by hardline science fiction creators (some of whomnote wrote scripts for it), scientists and engineers, some of whom (like Isaac Asimov) served as the showrunners' advisors. An article on its structure and scientific veracity appeared in John W. Campbell's Analognote and another in Popular Sciencenote , among others. I have been unable to find a source for the Grace Lee Whitney comment. It was Whitney herself who was considered a "Playboy bunny-type waitress" in reviews at the time.
As someone who is not 50+ years old I can't confirm for myself what the very initial impressions of the show were to confirm if the original statement is true or not, but I'm pretty sure it's not and that while the show did have a surprising female fanbase, it was a case of Multiple Demographic Appeal throughout its run.
To be honest, I'd either cut it or message the user who added it and then cut if they don't respond.
Macron's notesI'll be dusting this to crosspost from the Headscratchers cleanup:
Could Headscratchers.Muse be checked? Found it from this query, and there's quite a sprinkle of "this troper" in that page.

Should it be removed for being unverifiable?
Kirby is awesome.
