New topic: Puzzles

I like Puzzle Games, but sometimes I get stuck and just check a walkthrough for answers.

Aside from Portal, Candy Crush, and any other Bejeweled-inspired game, I can't think of any other puzzle game of recent memory that I like.

Aside from real-life Room Escape Games, and/or the occasional really engaging Puzzle Game, I don't actually have the attention span to sincerely try to figure them out for longer than a few seconds. Kind of weird though, considering how many mechanical puzzles I own.

Puzzles aren't half bad. Puzzle games are much better

Fire powers.

I think they’re neat, but I prefer water.

Magma Man through and through! Add in superheated molten metal to the mix, since lava is molten rock

I kinda want to see a scenario where someone with fire powers fight together with someone with wind powers. Like, the wind user could funnel more oxygen into the flame so it burns hotter, or forming a tornado around a flame to create a fire whirl.

They're so overused I hardly find examples of them interesting to analyse any more, unless it includes some kind of subversion, like not having the Required Secondary Powers to handle it.

I remember an anime called Kaze no Stigma with that sort of premise.

If I have fire powers, I would snap my finger to make a lighter out of my thumb.

I enjoyed The Library of Babel by Jorge Luis Borges. Shame that it's not on public domain anymore.

"Public domain" might be not the best word, but I remembered the full story being linked by the Library of Babel site some time ago. If I recall correctly, I think the Borges' family doesn't want his work being publicized in that way.

I haven't really read much in that category, though I did recently pick up a few of Roberto Bolaño's works.

The Savage Detectives, Distant Star, and the Return and Insufferable Gaucho collections.

These are a pain in the neck and cause some unnecessary drama.
