This is a thread to discuss those Administrivia pages in need of a little updating- you know the ones. The ones that still cite rules we've long since changed, or the ones that don't properly cite our current standards. Some of them are even scattered in Main/!
So, this is the place to take those pages and fix them up with the help of the community.
For a list of current projects, see Outdated Administrivia Pages.
Note: This thread is not for asking mods to make one-off edits to Locked Pages, Administrivia-related or otherwise, such as requesting additions to an Example Sectionectomy index. Please use this thread for that.

I'm not opposed to a namespace move, either. I actually forgot this page was in Main/, and it's not the first time I forgot that.

Patiently awaiting the release of Paper Luigi and the Marvelous Compass.I went ahead and moved it to Administrivia.Example As A Thesis and took care of the wicks.
Patiently awaiting the release of Paper Luigi and the Marvelous Compass.Per Sandbox.Outdated Administrivia Pages, any thoughts on Single-Issue Wonk's namespace?
TroperWall / WikiMagic CleanupIt's a trope going by the description, wicks, and tabs. It doesn't "mainly [focus] on TV Tropes". It doesn't focus on TV Tropes at all.

We can probably remove it from that list then.
TroperWall / WikiMagic CleanupMakes sense to me.
Following the train, should American and Commonwealth Spellings
- Add info on punctuation, as there are equally valid ways to put commas?
- Be renamed to something not exclusive to spellings or the two forms of English?
- Be generalized to other "first come first served" alltogether?
I think all three, except with the "first come, first serve" aspect still limited to English writing instead of just being about "first come, first served" in general. In the case of "first come, first served" with English writing in general, it's not uncommon for a word to have multiple valid spellings within a single dialect in addition to across different dialects.

Patiently awaiting the release of Paper Luigi and the Marvelous Compass.I forget, do we have a different thread to discuss administrivia in a broader sense than "this is showing its age", or is this thread fine? Cause this edit from 2022 on Not a Subversion is striking us as questionable.
Trouble Cube continues to be a general-purpose forum for those who desire such a thing.I don't know if this falls under the scope of this thread as this is more unilateral change than outdated information. Maybe ATT would be better? Anyways, that's not what Deconstructed Trope means so I think that line should reverted back to "it's just not that trope."

Macron's notesJust found this: https://tvtropes.org/pmwiki/index_namespaces.php
What is it, and should it be listed on Itty Bitty Wiki Tools?
Disambig Needed: Help with those issues! tvtropes.org/pmwiki/posts.php?discussion=13324299140A37493800&page=24#comment-576Namespaces that have pages that are indices? Does that not link from anywhere? Maybe the "Page finders" section.
Done.
Patiently awaiting the release of Paper Luigi and the Marvelous Compass.I brought this up last year re: Media Categories and if possible, I'd like a consensus.
In 2021 a troper unilaterally edited the page to change the default media categories. This was brought up by Twiddler in ATT about reverting it. No consensus was reached and the troper who made the page has continued changing new pages to be in-line with what they unilaterally decided (specifically Film — Live-Action to Films — Live-Action and Web Video to Web Videos).
Whether we want to revert or formally adopt make this as the default for the site (and as I've made clear in my other posts, I'd rather a revert), I think this should at least be decided upon officially
My vote would be to go to the singular tense.
I feel it should be plural when possible "Comic Books" (countable), "Video Games" (countable), "Anime and Manga" (uncountable). I think Film is a bit weird, I'd say "Live-Action Films", but "Film — Live-Action" sounds more natural than "Films — Live-Action".
TroperWall / WikiMagic CleanupAgreed.
I had a dog-themed avatar before it was cool.I think it's because in this use, we're not really talking about discrete movies (individual live-action/animated films) but film as a class of examples and a cateogry. And also that film can be both countable and uncountable. "Film [examples]" vs "examples from film" or "examples from films". So Film—Live-Action feels more appropriate to me. Western Animation is also similar. note
Along those same lines, for Web Videos, Webcomics, Comic Books, etc., to me it makes more sense to keep them in the singular since they refer to categories/a "class" of examples, i.e. "Web Video [examples]", "Web comic [examples]", "Comic Book [examples]", etc. That said, I get the other perspective and don't mind if we decide to pluralize everything outside of Film.

Web Video sounds okay, but I think Webcomics, Comics, Comic Books are the collective nouns for those categories. ("Comics" is a bit like "physics". "Comic books" and "comic strips" are particular formats of comics that I've always been uncertain whether they should really have different folders - it's like replacing Literature with separate folders for Novels, Poems, Short Stories, etc.)
(...the easiest and funniest thing to do would be to standardise everything as plural and make "Literatures" mandatory.)
The Revolution Will Not Be TropeableAnd the good ol' "Real Lifes" section.
Yeah, I agree that things should be plural if they can be.
Current Project: Incorruptible Pure PurenessCan Spoilers Off's "Re-examination of past fictional events in a later installment" section be modified to make it clear that the Hindsight tropes do not go on the later installment?
Tried to do what I could, but it's kind of confusingly worded regarding what to put on the YMMV page for the later installment.
Edit: Just removed that parenthetical because I'm not sure what it meant by limiting descriptions of in-work events for works they appear in to those works' YMMV pages. At least with Hindsight examples, those actually are limited to the earlier works' subpages.

Patiently awaiting the release of Paper Luigi and the Marvelous Compass. Is there a reason that the Trope Decay page is a Main page and not an Administrivia page? It reads like an Administrivia page in all but name so I was wondering if it was just an oversight or if it was meant to be listed as a trope.
Witty witticisms are witty.
There are still admin pages that have some fun with the subject. I don't think the page should on the JFF index since people are using it as a guideline.
Anyways, Example as a Thesis being in Main/ has been brought before as it's one of the admin or admin-like pages that in Main/ (it's still on Sandbox.Outdated Administrivia Pages but that sandbox doesn't get much use) It's just that no one has moved it yet and I don't remember the objections if there were any. I am not opposed to the page moving the page to Administrivia/
