Useful Notes Cleanup

UsefulNotes.NERF Brand... Why have this when the list of toys can go under the Toys namespace?

I don't think we need a Useful Notes for that so I am for redirecting it (because of the inbounds) but I don't think we need to move any of the information over to Nerf Brand.

Driving Stick: As it exists this has no bearing on writing; it's more of a driving tutorial. Even if it's written in an informative and entertaining manner, it's out of place on TV Tropes.

The article was written mainly by ARCHON, who hasn't been seen since 2016.

I am with cutting that one. People can go to other places to learn how to drive stick.

Seconding a cut. If one wants to learn how to stick-shift, I doubt they'll go to TVT just for that.

Stereoscopic Imagery is three sentences long and hasn't been edited for ten years. Is anyone interested in adding more to it or should it just be deleted?

My vote would be to just remove it.

It could link to pages like 3-D Movie, 3D Comic Book and Nintendo 3DS.

I think Boris Johnson should be deleted. There are no mentions of works referencing him and there's a trope section used for his life.

Seconding delete Boris Johnson. I'm sure he's been featured in many comedy specials, but that page doesn't focus on that at all.

One look at the wicks shows that Unfinished London, Spitting Image, Dead Ringers, and presumably at least a few others, feature him as a character. I'm familiar with the former two, but not with the other one.

I'm thinking about using my knowledge to write a Useful Notes article about electric vehicles that would go in the transportation section. Are there enough of these in media to make that worthwhile? There have been several notable product placement cameos lately but I'm more interested in works that make them part of the plot in some way.

I know Hill Climb Racing has an electric car as one of the vehicles, but it's not part of the plot, partially because that game doesn't have much of a plot.

As for BJ, I guess if he appears in works, he should get an appearances section after all.

Searching on Wikipedia for "electric vehicles" "in popular culture" turned up this

I do remember an old bit from The Simpsons about an electric car that was making fun of corporate-sponsored Walt Disney World rides (in the form of a ride sponsored by the gasoline industry portraying an electric car as undesirable). Does that count as a portrayal?

Military Personnel — I question the need for "entertainment figures with military experience" as a UN (especially since it seems to list every Korean male actor page we have, which...doesn't mean anything since they have mandatory service). It seems more like 'fun trivia'.

Yeah, this seems like pure trivia with no applicability to tropes.

It can affect directors/writers/game designers who are more likely to craft from experience, potentially going out of the way to avoid Artistic License – Military and other tropes like that. I don't have any examples, though, so take that with a grain of salt.

If military experience affects their career in some way (eg. Gal Gadot being ex-IDF before being cast in action films) then that can be noted on their Creator/ page. But "every actor who's been in the military in some way ever" is not useful as an index. I brought up South Korean actors as an extreme example; nearly every male actor we have a page for goes on that index no matter what their career trajectory is like.
