Doppelganger Duel Boss.
A mid-game boss, wielding ice-based attacks. The attacks will slow the player if struck, and have the potential to freeze the character in place fully for a few moments. Weak physically, but fights from range to negate this disadvantage. Goes completely nuts on defeat, and flash-freezes the entire area - the player can be killed in this scene, unless they either fight from range, or uses a fire attack to counteract the flash-freeze. Dying in this manner causes a unique death cutscene, in which the boss walks up to the frozen protagonist and shatters them into shards.
"I swear, Colonel, I did not shoot at you because you called my sister slow. I would not miss if I did."The final boss for the bonus content in an action RPG.
"When I offered to make Norea my third back-up girlfriend she just glared at me and started throwing things at me.." Renee CostaA previously harmless minion who has gained great power via an awesome sword. Fought midway through the game.
Word's second most famous attorney with a bird-related name.A boss that fights by using smoke-based attacks to obfuscate the player's vision, then strike from within the smoke clouds. The boss is likely to be weak physically, and will thus attack the player with speed and 'conventional' weaponry. To defeat this boss, the player should have access to gear with thermal imaging capabilities in game, which will allow the player to easily target the boss.
The boss can be defeated without the use of this gear, but it is harder than it would otherwise be. On harder difficulties, the boss will utilise several forms of gas-based weaponry, ranging from gas that explodes when fire is used (preventing the use of most of the player's weaponry, forcing hand-to-hand combat) to toxic gases that will drain the player's HP while in the area of effect. Each gas has its own unique negation method, though which the player can force the boss to change to the next gas type.
Upon defeat, the boss' reaction will vary depending on the actions you have undertaken earlier. If you killed the majority of previous bosses/mini-bosses when given the option to spare, or to kill, the boss will flood the area with all of the types of gas used in the battle, in a last-ditch attempt to defeat the player. This can be avoided by the use of a certain rare piece of gear, or by killing the boss before the attack is triggered.
If the player showed mercy to the majority of previous bosses/mini-bosses, the boss will escape via smoke-type gas, and will later ally with the player during the later stages of the game. If the player has killed and spared in equal measure, the option to kill or spare will be granted, with the chosen option leading to one of the above outcomes.
Note: This was based entirely off of visual appearance, without knowledge of the avatar's actual abilities. Apologies for any mistakes.

"I swear, Colonel, I did not shoot at you because you called my sister slow. I would not miss if I did."I like the idea of it being a boss fought earlier in the game, perhaps a demigod of some kind. Ravaged and defeated by the player the being manages to pull its essence together and twist and bind metal and light to create a new form and a later-game battle.
As for abilities it would be remarkably durable and able to harness blasts of light as well as projected shards of metal being hurled across the arena. Getting close to those blades is certainly not a good idea either.
She would be a hide-and-seek puzzle goal in an adventure game.
Her strategy involves hiding in places in a urban alley filled with look-alike cats and obscure locations.
Up in Useful Notes/ParaguayBoss on the second area if the player sides with the hunters.
"When I offered to make Norea my third back-up girlfriend she just glared at me and started throwing things at me.." Renee CostaA midboss of some kind? Probably has darkness/ghost-themed attacks
The Superstar of the Supernatural World! (debatable)A SNK Boss in a extremely trippy fighter game where it is a cross between Street Fighter, Cuphead and Earthbound.

Up in Useful Notes/ParaguayA Stationary Boss that spams lasers from several points on its body.
A large boss that deals loads of contact damage, popping up from out of the terrain to attack before heading back into the terrain, likely crushing you in the process. Avoiding the boss is hard and shooting it is harder.
It took until the sequels for Star Wars to have a zero gravity scene. The Climax Boss against the local paladin of a Corrupt Church, possessed by the Devil Of Light serving as The Dragon to the Big Bad.
What rises must fall, what falls may rise again.Looks to me like a mysterious masked warrior encountered in an action-RPG set in feudal Japan. An extremely powerful and skilled warrior who's something of a Wild Card story-wise, as he's neither on your side, nor is he on the villain's; his true agenda is a mystery. He's also a very tough opponent; while he can't take more hits than a normal human can, he is a Badass Normal to the core and will require mastery of all your swordsmanship skills to defeat. He will defend against attack spam, and he will take advantage of openings as you stagger from your own attacks.
"If you think like a child, you will do a child's work."I feel like hes a duel boss with his own arena.
Cornelius, but do not waste in useless pity the few moments left in which to escape from the hands of the enemy.Your playing as The Joker. It's an incredibly hard Final-Exam Boss. Knows your every move. And is also a Time-Limit Boss
Progress has it's stepping stones.A Humanoid Abomination Final Boss who copies your stats at random, primarily uses magical attacks and has an HP to One desperation attack.
IDK what to make of it.

Hope: "Let's go. We'll be together." Lightning: "I only know... that soon, we'll be together."The penultimate boss before the Final Boss.
The Superstar of the Supernatural World! (debatable)The Final Boss of a platformer where the enemies are aliens. This is his first form.
What rises must fall, what falls may rise again. An extremely powerful boss, who will likely engage the PC in physical combat. The boss has the ability to summon up a specialised mask, which causes the boss to engage the PC with much more aggression than normal, in addition to powering up their defence and attack.
(Shorter than normal, because I really didn't know what to put.)

"I swear, Colonel, I did not shoot at you because you called my sister slow. I would not miss if I did."Encountered mid-game, maybe a little earlier or later depending on the game. One of those bosses that you have to beat by climbing on it to reach its weak point. Probably has a lot of guns and explosives, and of course tries to step on you, too.
She is a final dialogue boss in a visual novel.
