THIS is going to take long. (Breathes in)...

Terror Duo:

Identity: Christopher Hawk (The Mad Beast) and Claire Church (Baroness of Blood). They are heroes (while Chris is Ideal Hero, Claire is Type III or Type IV Anti-Hero).

The Mad Beast (Christopher Hawk)

Powers: Chris was already born as an animal-super (he can transform into a wolf). Merging with Michael (as in the archangel Michael in terms of spelling) the Homicidal, Sin Prince of Violence, gave him certain bonuses: 1. He got harder to kill. 2. His wolf form became more terrifying (scarred and burnt). 3. The most important one. The more he is hurt, the more he gets powerful. So, yes, he has to be a masochist to fully realize his powers. Also, he has incredible healing powers (he can even restore limbs), though it's only in beast mode. And when he transforms back to a human, he reverts back to his pre-transformation state (clothes intact and all that). The wounds, however, are healed.

Appearance: Chris is a barely 19 year old boy, so he looks young, cute and childish... sort of. He is skinny and looks sick and pale.

Personality: Chris is a Nice Guy with an added mix Cloud Cuckoolander. While he is DEFINITELY not an unpleasant fellow, he... can be quite weird, both on what he says and what he does. He tries to be polite and kind to almost any people, so he never insults even his enemies. However, he has one major flaw: lack of self-love. It would not be an exaggeration to say that he hates himself more than anything else in this world. That's why he constantly tries to get himself killed, blames himself for any misfortunes that MIGHT be connected to him, loves when he gets hurt (basically masochist). In short, he is a psychological mess that wears a mask of a nice person. And he never whines.

Background: Chris was always an outcast, and not mention he didn't have any parents (he was raised in an orphanage with absolutely no memory of family). Due to this, adding to the fact that he could transform into a wolf-man, he always had a cripplingly low self-esteem, but he had a strong sense of morality, so he didn't turn evil. Then, one day, he saw a sexual assault happening in an alley and decided to intervene, even though he saw the criminal had a knife (one could say that it was precisely BECAUSE of it that he went to intervene: to die). Of course, he got injured. Then, he met the Sin Prince and Michael merged with Chris, since the boy wanted to save the victim. And he did... by brutally murdering the violator. This practically became the catalyst for his broken personality that continues up to now.

Baroness of Blood (Claire Church)

Powers:

Claire willingly merged with Lerangé the Thirsty, Sin Prince of Gluttonous Desire (basically, Gluttony+Lust+bits of Greed) to survive. Along with Chris's blood (more explanation below), along with the enhanced physical capabilities, she acquired the power of Blood Manipulation. When she bleeds, Claire can use spilling blood for various purposes. She recharges by drinking others' blood. However, she gets extra bonus for drinking Chris's blood, so she drinks his. She can restore her health by drinking blood.

Appearance:

Claire is a 21 year old woman with long black hair who has a heterochromia (her one eye is green, while the other one is black). She looks mature compared to Chris (which is quite obvious).

Personality:

Claire...is less pleasant. She is cold and aloof towards most people, and also cynical about everything. She has a few symptoms of borderline personality disorder (specifically, she has black and white thinking ('anyone against is a devil, while anyone who treats me kindly is an angel' type of thinking), fear of abandonment, prone to violent outburst, disordered eating, chronic feeling of emptiness), though... they are quite HEAVILY toned down and she is getting better thanks to Chris. And, by nature, Claire is a good person.

Background: Claire was an outcast too, except she was bullied and her parents disowned her (because of her sexual orientation). She craved love, yet she only got abandoned and humiliated. She got dangerously close to being sexually assaulted, though thankfully she managed to avoid that. But this experience still scarred her. So, Claire, unlike Chris, turned out as a not so pleasant and unstable person. One day, Claire was gravely injured by a supervillain. When she was unconscious, she met with the Lerangé and merged with him, since he promised that he would give her love that she craved for her entire life (of course this love being harmful. Lerangé found her as a perfect host).

Shared Background: A day later after the merging, Claire woke up with a strange sensation. She craved for blood, and she instinctively went to the person named Christopher Hawk. To explain, Chris transferred his blood to her, which contained the essence of Michael, so that was how she could find him. Realizing that the two of them are being hosted by demonic lords of Sin, they decided to stick around together. All was fine... except for the fact that Claire wanted to kill Chris, since he turned her into a monster. But, after Chris nearly gave up his life to save her, she rethought her motivations and decided to become friends with him. And, as an added bonus, since a person like Chris is a perfect match for her, she starts to like him.

As for why Chris lets Claire hang around is because that he feels responsible for her turning into a pseudo-vampire. He knew that she hated him, and probably thought that she would kill him, so he wants to redeem himself by loving her (out of pity, at first). As you can all see, they are developing as a couple, though no one has confessed anything yet.

They are heading to Easton because they felt the presence of a powerful Sin Prince, who forced Lerangé and Michael to become formless.

Here goes.

  • Identity: Chickening, Full-Time Hero, Real Identity Unknown

  • Powers & Abilities:
    • Superhuman Strength, Speed and Durability (No flight though, obviously)
    • Great proficiency with the Indestructible Chickenstick! (It's basically an especially durable sledgehammer, and "proficiency" amounts to bashing people with it upfront. Chickening thinks it's indestructible. It isn't)
    • Laying eggs (pulling them from a secret place actually) of two different kinds. One type is filled with viscous liquid, perfect for throwing and face-smashing. The other spawns hyper-aggressive attack-chickens. Fighting spirit burns hot in their tiny bodies, and thus they do not survive long outside of battle. Given enough time, Chickening is capable of turning these chickens into bus-sized Dire Chickens capable of flight and intelligent thought (he can only enlarge one after the other, though), and those have longer lifespans, but are harder to control.
    • Limited Telepathic control over all chicken-kind, especially those Chickening spawned itself.
    • A deafening b'gawk that isn't really all that deafening and more like kind of weird. Outside of sounding exactly like a real chicken and enraging chickens under its thrall, it serves as a distraction at best. Chickening is not aware of this.
    • Maybe it can keep fighting without a head for a while? Hasnt happened yet, but...

  • Description:
OH YOU KNOW WHAT IT IS
    https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/adult_mascot_chicken_costume_video_thumbnail_1.jpg

  • Personality: Some say Chickening is a mysterious hero, honorable and stalwart, always there when needed. Others say it's a deranged lunatic, muttering gibberish about chickens and a danger to itself and those around it. Yet others say it has long since ceased to be human under that disguise, its intentions as incomprehensible as its entire existence. To many, it's just an idiot in a chicken costume. Perhaps Chickening is all of the above, maybe more. Granted, probably not much more.

  • Background: There exist creatures in the darkest corners of reality, extraplanar entities whose existence is a secret to most. Some of those creatures drift aimlessly through the universe, ignorant to what is twisted and obliterated in their wake. Others yet take great care not to carelessly destroy, akin to taking care not to step on a bug. Watching, planning, manipulating. Waiting. And yet others still worm their way into the dreams of a mortal, in the form of a chicken no less, give them vaguely chicken-themed superpowers and send them on a quest whose literal transcription amounts to: "WHY DID THE CHICKEN CROSS THE ROAD?!" Well, or at least one of them did. The thoughts of extraplanar creatures are not for mortal minds to comprehend.

Queen Gloriana

  • Identity: The highest-ranking queen of the Seelie Court, the Queen of Flame and Fury.
  • Powers:
    • Gloriana is one of the most prominent wielders of magic in Faerie. She's not very creative in how she uses it, but her sheer power makes her a force to be reckoned with.
    • As her title may suggest, she has a particular affinity for fire magic.
    • She is attended to by the Knights of Gloriana, changelings who have a bit of her power but express it in different ways.
  • Description: Gloriana's true form is too awesome, glorious, and terrifying for humans to lay eyes on, so the form they see her as is a black woman with blonde hair, perpetually surrounded by a golden glow, and tall for fairy standards at five feet. (Any resemblance to Beyoncé is completely coincidental.) She usually wears a sort of golden armored dress, while carrying a flaming rapier.
  • Personality: Unlike Mab, who became a queen through trickery, the perfectly poised Gloriana rose to her position through power and brute strength. Regardless of how she feels, Gloriana never loses her cool. As the Queen of Flame and Fury, she certainly is capable of anger, but she will remain perfectly calm throughout, although things probably will be set on fire at some point. Gloriana's morality, like Mab's, is somewhat skewed by human standards, since she abides by a knightly code of conduct, and anyone whose behavior doesn't match up is an enemy. She tends to have little respect for humans, with the exception of her Knights, due to her belief that humans are morally and physically weak. While she can be persuaded to aid those who ask for it, she'll usually put them through a test of physical capability and moral purity first.
  • Background:
    • Born in 1550, Gloriana is half human, on her father's side. It's not something she's proud of, and anyone who brings it up around her tends to get immolated. As a young fairy, she was an outcast over it, and she found solace in stories from the human world of brave knights, beautiful damsels, and powerful rulers - when she wasn't training.
    • As she approached adulthood, she began to get more involved in fae society, with her power overruling most qualms about her heritage.
    • Around 1590, Gloriana adopted an orphaned human squire who impressed her with his innocence and courage. He became the first of her Knights, the rare humans she deemed worthy of power and immortality. A few centuries later, Gloriana had accumulated enough political power to become a Seelie queen.

Wow, they just keep coming!

Kaalban: I'm OK with your characters, but could you *please* describe each one separately? Its kinda hard to read their individual traits currently.

ilili: BWAHAHA! I love it! Yeah we take humorous characters here too (see Strip Poker, for example) as long as they make some sort of sense. This one barely makes it, but, yeah, I'm going to approve it.

Emily: Excellent! I knew I could count on you to continue expanding our Fae Lore. Approved.

Sorry. I think I fixed the problem.

Also Sin Princes are not in the Concept category. Are there problems with it that needs to be fixed? Please tell me if there is.

Same goes for Terror Duo.

I want you to please edit your post above so that each member of the Terror Duo is described separately. The background section can be shared though. Then I will see about approving them.

As for the Sin Princes, I need a single post officially describing them that I can link to before approving them as well.

Sin Princes Concept is on post 1651, page 67 in Discussion Thread. Everything's there, including its origin. Here

Also, fixed the character sheet. I hope I did it the right way. And, again, I apologize for creating mess of a character sheet.

The Century Squadron

Founded on New Year's Eve, 1899, the Century Squadron was supposed to serve as the protectors of the world throughout the twentieth century. They disbanded in 1914, so that didn't work out so well.

Professor Progress

  • Identity: Professor Pascal Powell
  • Powers:
  • Description: A conventionally handsome white man with a mustache and a penchant for suits and top hats
  • Personality: Professor Progress was not an easy person to get along with, largely owing to his arrogance and superiority complex. Some have theorized that this was a coping mechanism for spending much of his childhood and adolescence surrounded by people older and more powerful than him. While his intentions were good, they were hindered by his tendency to be a petty dick.
  • Background:
    • Born in 1864, Pascal Powell was a child prodigy. By the time he was seventeen, he had graduated Harvard and West Point, patented seven times, and was working as a lawyer in Easton City.
    • When the mayor was kidnapped in 1897, Powell took it upon himself to investigate. Using his wits and technology, he found the mayor and foiled the kidnappers. Powell, nicknamed "Professor Progress," became Easton City's most sought-after detective-slash-lawyer-slash-inventor. It was because of this that Powell was visited by Mesmera, a psychic who had foreseen great danger in Easton City's future. While he initially dismissed her as a charlatan, he came to believe her after she saved his life in an assassination attempt. They brought together a group of fellow vigilantes and super powered individuals who saved Easton City on New Year's Eve. Professor Progress convinced them all to remain together, and they became the Century Squadron.
    • In 1913, Mesmera left, followed shortly afterwards by the rest of the Squadron. Newly alone, Professor Progress became an activist for various progressive causes, but he was wracked with scandal after an affair with a married woman. He sank further with a series of bad business decisions and a failed marriage, reducing him to selling fake medicine as part of a traveling show. He died in 1928.
    • His reputation in recent years has taken a nosedive, largely over his support of laws for mandatory sterilization of people deemed "feeble-minded," although metahuman rights advocates have occasionally used him as an example of what metahumans have contributed to modern society.

Temperance Crusader

  • Identity: Frances Woodson Hartford
  • Powers:
    • None, but she is a skilled nurse, street fighter, markswoman, and arsonist.
  • Description: A white brunette woman of average height and wide build. As the Temperance Crusader, she wore a men's shirt and pants, a black coat, and a black domino mask.
  • Personality: While Frances lost much of her youthful optimism, she never lost her steely determination and her belief that she will make the world a better place by force if necessary. She's not very good at thinking things through, but once she picks a course of action, almost nothing can dissuade her from it.
  • Background:
    • Frances was born in Easton City in 1869 to a wealthy family. High-spirited from a young age, she learned how to box and shoot alongside her brothers. While her parents disapproved, they allowed it, assuming she would grow out of it.
    • She did not. At eighteen, she began studying medicine from local physician Charles Hartford. They fell in love, and in 1888 they secretly married. When the Woodsons found out they were furious and disowned Frances, who moved to Albany with Charles.
    • Frances and Charles' marriage was not a happy one, largely due to Charles' alcoholism. In 1894, a pregnant Frances left Charles and returned to Easton City, bringing her young son Hiram with her. She worked as a nurse and wrote anti-alcohol pamphlets in her spare time, but she felt unsatisfied.
    • After learning about a saloon operating near where she lived, Frances tried to hand out pamphlets there one night. After being harassed by several pubgoers, she defended herself and started a Bar Brawl that ended with the saloon burning down. Frances found that for the first time in a long time, she felt happy.
    • Frances donned a mask and began attacking saloons and subduing rowdy drunks every night. Six months later, Easton was functionally dry, largely thanks to Frances.
    • After giving birth to her daughter Caroline, she retired from vigilantism. Five years later, she came out of retirement to help a group of fellow mystery men defend Easton City as the Century Squadron. They were active throughout the 1900s.
    • In 1913, Frances was arrested for the vandalism and arson she committed years ago. While Professor Progress successfully got her acquitted, Frances decided to retire while she could. She returned to nursing and died in 1950.

Lady Hercules, the World's Strongest Woman

  • Identity: Anne Mac Pherson
  • Powers:
    • Anne was extremely strong, strong enough to lift a horse carrying a grown man and juggle cannonballs.
    • She may have had some sort of healing factor; contemporary sources report her healing from injuries in only days.
  • Description: The tallest of the Century Squadron at six foot four, Anne is brawny, auburn-haired, and usually smiling. Her costume is a white unitard with blue accents.
  • Personality: Anne is sweet, polite, feminine, and strong enough to juggle cannonballs. While she has occasionally felt self-conscious about her strength, she's actually quite proud of it, and is confident that if anyone doesn't like it, that's their problem, not hers. She's also extremely friendly - maybe too friendly.
  • Background:
    • Born in Edinburgh in 1871, Anne Mac Pherson immigrated to America with her elder brother Jack in 1881. To support themselves, Anne would wrestle people for money, with Jack offering $500 to anyone who could beat her. Anne was never defeated.
    • At the age of 19, after Jack died, she joined Willis & Walcott's Circus as a strongwoman under the stage name of Lady Hercules. It was in the circus she met Johnny Wong, the Electrical Man. She was smitten with him, and while he was initially intimidated by her, he quickly grew fond of her.
    • In 1899, both she and Johnny helped several other mystery men defend the town of Easton City from a monster invasion. Afterwards, they were convinced to stay and continue defending the city as members of the Century Squadron.
    • After Mesmera and Temperance Crusader left in 1913 and 1914, respectively, Anne and Johnny found out she was pregnant. They wanted to stay with the Squadron, but after Anne was injured in a fight, they left the Century Squadron to become farmers, up until Anne's death from throat cancer in 1925. Anne was survived by Johnny and their children, Sally and Andrew.

Johnny Wong, the Electrical Man

  • Identity: Johnny Wong, nee Wu Yat-Sen.
  • Powers:
    • Electricity generation and manipulation
  • Description: A wiry Chinese man wearing a white unitard with gold accents.
  • Personality: Johnny is materialistic, cynical, and crude, but he's also fundamentally decent. He'll tell you how it inconveniences him, but he'll still save your life.
  • Background:
    • Born in Beijing in 1870, Wu Yat-Sen grew up in poverty. His powers manifested at a young age, but after almost killing a man at the age of twelve, he made the decision to hide them.
    • At the age of twenty, he emigrated to California to mine for gold. He failed at this, but he did see a performance at Willis & Walcott's Circus. Realizing this was a steady source of income, he approached the owner about joining. Willis was impressed by his powers and offered him a contract. Yat-Sen adopted the stage name Johnny Wong, the Electrical Man.
    • It was while working there that Johnny met Anne Mac Pherson, aka Lady Hercules, who was openly interested in him. Johnny, while somewhat intimidated by her, quickly grew fond of her.
    • In 1899, both he and Anne helped several other mystery men defend the town of Easton City from a monster invasion. Afterwards, they were convinced to stay and continue defending the city as members of the Century Squadron.
    • After Mesmera and Temperance Crusader left in 1913 and 1914, respectively, Anne and Johnny found out she was pregnant. They wanted to stay with the Squadron, but after Anne was injured in a fight, they instead became farmers, up until Anne's death in 1925, survived by her and Johnny’s children, Sally and Andrew. He died in 1948, survived by Sally, Andrew, and two grandchildren.

Mesmera

  • Identity: Elizabeth "Lizzie" Hill Jenkins
  • Powers:
    • Telepathy
      • Empathy
    • Precognition
    • Clairvoyance
    • Aura vision
  • Description: A pretty, dark-skinned woman with eyes that seem too big for her head
  • Personality: Mesmera tends to play up her spookiness for theatrical effect; in her day-to-day life, she's more of a Perky Goth. She's a skilled manipulator and well-versed in what makes people tick, but she's friendly enough that most people don't even realize they're being manipulated. She has a dimmer view of heroics than her teammates, largely due to her low opinions of Professor Progress and the Temperance Crusader, who she sees as inconsiderate and self-righteous.
  • Background:
    • Born in 1882 as the third child of two sharecroppers, Lizzie Hill was a peculiar, sickly child from a young age, who spent much of her childhood suffering from strange visions and fevers. After foreseeing a fire at the age of ten, she warned her parents, saving her entire family's life in the process.
    • Adopting the pseudonym of Mesmera, she began offering services as a medium. While she was arguably conning people, she was hardly a villain; at one point, she got a wealthy man to donate his entire fortune to a black orphanage after convincing him his late wife wanted him to do so, and she sent most of her earnings back to her family.
    • In 1899, she foresaw an attack by strange, monstrous creatures on Easton City, and she tried to warn local superhero Professor Progress. While he initially dismissed her as a charlatan, he came to believe her after she saved his life in an assassination attempt. She helped him bring together a group of fellow vigilantes and super powered individuals who saved Easton City on New Year's Eve. Professor Progress convinced them all to remain together, and they became the Century Squadron.
    • Mesmera was the first to leave the Century Squadron when, in 1913, she left to marry newspaper editor Samuel Jenkins. To make ends meet, she started traveling the lecture circuit, talking about her time as a superhero and advocating for civil rights. Later in life, she began working with TALOS as a consultant. She died in 1970, survived by three children and seven grandchildren.

This is the first of a few significant Kaydenites. I will edit more in as I come up with more, if that is allowed. If not, I'll improvise. wink

Ekan Anok

  • Identity: General Ekan of the House of Anok (Neutral)
  • Powers and Abilities: Ekan can survive situations that would obliterate other normal lifeforms. His personality and life force are stored in each individual particle of his body, as is the nature of all Kaydenites. He carries dormant matter in small pouches on his belt, which he can mould into whatever weapon or tool he likes.
  • Weakness: Again, like all Kaydenites, Ekan is vulnerable to temperature change. If he is not fitted with a temperature regulator, he would lose control of his state of matter, leaving him vulnerable to attack.
  • Description: Takes the form of a tall, well built man. Dark hair with constantly glowing eyes; a common side effect of overusing excess matter. Around 6"3 in height. Estimated current age to be around 1,800 Earth years.
  • Personality: A hardened individual, Ekan has seen much combat in his time. As a result, he may seem cold and withdrawn to others. He does love his family dearly, however, and will do whatever is necessary to keep them safe and happy. Even against his own superiors wishes.
  • Background: Ekan had a relatively simple childhood, and decided to join the Kaydenite Military Academy at the tender age of 250. He fought in many wars brought about by distrust from other races, due to rumours of Kaydenites illegally duplicating products and technologies. He later entered a relationship with a female (or whatever constitutes as female) Kaydenite named Silz, and they had two children together. Rine Anok is a confirmed child of his. The other child is unknown. After Kayden collapsed into an interdimensional Rift, he disappeared. It is not known what dimension he arrived in.

Silz Anok

  • Identity: Lieutenant Silz of the House of Anok (Neutral)
  • Powers and Abilities: Shares the same powers and equipment as her husband.
  • Weakness: Temperature change causes unwanted matter state change, leaving Silz vulnerable. Would require a temperature regulator to survive elsewhere.
  • Description: Has a strong, athletic build, with dark shoulder length hair and glowing eyes. (although less bright due to lack of matter manipulation.) Around 5"10. Estimated current age around 1,500.
  • Personality: A similar hardened outlook on life to her husband, although less so due to not fighting as much as him. Cares deeply for her family and husband, and is willing to break the law to protect them.
  • Background: Silz was raised in the middle class, like her husband. She elected to join the Kaydenite Military Academy at the barely legal age of 245. She met Ekan after stopping an attempted robbery of the then experimental Artificial Hardlite. Ekan eventually requested her marriage, which she accepted. They had two children, one of whom was Rine Anok, and the other is not known. After Kayden collapsed into an interdimensional Rift, she disappeared. It is not known what dimension she arrived in.

Rine Anok (Yes, I know I already made him, but this is his Kayden self.)

  • Identity: Rine of the House of Anok.
  • Powers: Shares the same abilities as other Kaydenites, although shows a natural skill with Hardlite manipulation.
  • Weakness: Vulnerable to temperature change, as is the norm for the species. Would require a temperature regulator to survive off-world.
  • Description: Has a deceptively skinny, athletic build, with a golden ginger hair and unusually bright glowing eyes. Unlike other Kaydenites-in-training, he does not carry Artificial Hardlite in containers, but rather lets it float around him like an incandescent aura. Around 5"6. Estimated current age to be 950-1,000.
  • Personality: Seems to be quite a light hearted individual, although anyone close to him knows it is just an act. He is withdrawn like his father, but is not a sociopath, and deeply cares for his family and friends.
  • Background: Rine was raised with another unidentified sibling, before joining the Kaydenite Military Academy at the age of 257. He became close friends with Kyxe Seng after helping her with Hardlite manipulation. After the Kayden Rift Event, he was sucked into Dimension 303 on a fragment of the planet, where he was eventually discovered, experimented on, and escaped into the Multiverse for several centuries. After Roken Eniq (a corrupt alternate self created from the Rift Event) destroyed Dimension 303, Rine travelled to Easton City. He appears to have no recollection of his former life, and may need a trigger to resurface his memories.

Kyxe Seng

  • Identity: Kyxe of the House of Seng (Neutral)
  • Powers: Shares the same survival abilities as other Kaydenites. Was studying Hardlite manipulation, with varying success.
  • Weakness: Again, like other Kaydenites, is vulnerable to temperature change. Would require a temperature regulator to survive on other worlds.
  • Description: Takes the form of a young woman with blonde, shoulder length hair. (as is the custom for the Kaydenites, so they may not be caught so easily in battle.) Glowing eyes, while not as bright as Rine's, still above average due to training with Hardlite manipulation. Around 5"5. Estimated Earth age to be around 900-980 years.
  • Personality: Has a tendency to be stubborn, but is a kind-hearted individual. (Well, as kind hearted as Kaydenites can get.) She will protect her friends with all her ability if need be, and considering that she is still in training, is actually a very fearless fighter. She had started to develop feelings for Rine, but the Rift Event occurred before she could announce her feelings to him.
  • Background: She elected into the military academy at the age of 250. She met Rine there, who taught her all he knew of Hardlite manipulation. After that, they became close friends, almost inseparable. She had started to have feelings towards him, but the Kayden Rift Event occurred before she could tell him. Any more details of her short life on Kayden were lost in the Event. It is not known what dimension she arrived in.

Species: Parasite (Insectoid, Assassin Caste Type.)

Alignment: Neutral Evil.

Job: He used to serve Roken before he gained sentience; now that Roken has "died" and he's started to regain his memories, he's taken over as the New Emperor of the parasites.

Description: Val’ark is humanoid, although under no circumstances could he be mistaken for a human. His body is lithe and thin, and he is about seven feet tall- however, he doesn’t look it as he generally stoops a bit. His skin is by default a dark black and red, and is oily. Large chitinous plates act as armor, covering his front chest, shoulders, knees, and elbows.

His face is a mix of insectoid and wolf-like features, with two large red eyes. They differ from those of a normal, common parasite by being a bit bigger than those of a human, and actually being able to show emotion rather well. His face slants into something resembling a wolf, although his jaws sport a pair of jagged mandibles. His hands are jagged claws, perfect for climbing trees and other structures. His legs are digitigrade, and his feet are also claws. Two black insect wings can burst from his shoulders at will, although they aren’t developed enough to much more than glide. His mouth is unsuited to speaking english, and he instead speaks in a mixture of growls and clicks.

Strengths/Abilities:

-Perception Filter: Lacking the in-depth knowledge needed to use it for more advanced purposes, Val instead uses it to camouflage himself, blending into his surroundings.

-Hardlite Reserves: As his memories have started to return, Val'ark has regained the skills necessary to draw on his Hardlite reserves to craft weapons and armor, although he lacks the Temperature Stabilizer needed to craft plasma guns.

-Natural Weaponry and Armor: Val sports rather sharp claws and teeth, and his chitin plates act as armor. The latter can repel gunshots rather effectively, although not to such an extent that he has nothing to fear from a machine gunner. His claws can cut through quite a few things, although cutting through, say, steel, might take a while. Val also has the jaw strength to rival a crocodile. His wings allow him to glide, although they don’t allow for true flight.

Personality: Val’ark, in a word, is pragmatic. He puts himself above all others, and expects the creatures around him to do the same. When people show qualities that he hasn’t yet wrapped his mind around- mercy, friendship, and being nice without wanting anything in return. While normally cold, he has started to show these qualities, although he will fervently deny that no, he isn’t.

Because of his inability to speak english- or any real, non-parasite tongue- he tends to use his body language and gestures to communicate. As such, one can generally judge how he feels about a specific situation by how he’s sitting, standing, acting, ect.

Background: Val’ark used to serve his emperor faithfully, mindlessly slaving away. He was generally used as a more specialized attack dog- Roken pointed him in the direction of someone he needed dead to further their goal of devouring dimensions, and Val’ark hunted them to the ends of their dimension.

When the parasite emperor fell, Val’ark had started to develop sapience. When his master was “destroyed,” the parasite’s mind morphed into something far, far more intelligent- and far more dangerous. When a group of TALOS operatives accosted him in the forest he was currently prowling just outside of Easton, believing him to be nothing more than a brute beast, he slaughtered them in classic horror movie fashion.

Recently, after Roken's death, the parasite has now become the new Parasite Emperor- with his memories slowly returning and his goals having aligned to the destruction of the Kaydenites, he is determined to slaughter Rine and family once and for all.

Now, to introduce the rest of the Sin Prince family (except the Sin Lord. He is too OP to be even introduced).

Ni of Deviance:

Identity: Ni the Deviant, Sin Prince of deviant pleasure. A line between Neutral and Villain.

Powers and Abilities: Natural Seduction (seduces almost any people). Can be overcome.

Lust inducement (forces people to have the sin of deviant lust). Either by music or picture (see below).

Feeds on lust.

Music magic (same function as painting combat, except with music. See below)

Empowered by lust (obviously).

Painting combat (to be more elaborate, she creates pictures, usually very disturbing, that instill some emotion on the victim. Besides that, from pictures Ni's minions can come through).

Can change her sex at any time.

Appearance: As a woman and as a man, she's a green eyed, black haired person with a great shape. When she uses her magic, however, her eyes bleed from black liquid, so they turn pitch black.

Personality: As expected, deviant that seeks pleasure at any cost. However, deep down, a part of her hates herself for this. She wants to be free from this miserable existence. But the other part wants to just have fun... in her own twisted ways. Of course, she is a Combat Sadomasochist. As an added bonus, she appreciates human culture. Ni isn't exactly a 'big picture' type like Azur or any other Sin Princes. As a result, she is not too interested in the throne of the Sin Lord.

Background:

Ni visited countless variations of Earth, since she deemed human's culture as most varied and interesting. Sin Lord just lets her do whatever the heck she wants, because he doesn't expect much from her. Currently, she is planning on visiting Easton!Earth. By this point, she has destroyed about 1000 civilizations across multiverse.

Leera the Angel:

Identity: Leera of Despair. Villain, of course.

Powers and Abilities: Despair inducement.

Feeds on despair.

Illusion master (self-explanatory). Of course, people with great willpower can overcome it, just like Ni's seduction.

Decay Magic: : Leera can 'infect' the person with disease that makes the person rot, physically and psychologically. This disease does not spread, however.

Nothingness: Can use nothingness as her magic source. Mostly uses it create a scythe.

Gospel of Truth: Leera specializes in creating a despair/death cult, by using a book called Gospel of Truth. It induces despair in weaker willed people. Strong willed people can fight it off, but they might succumb.

Appearance: Takes form of a black dog.

Personality: Leera is cold and emotionless. She feels absolutely nothing while doing any kind of things. Does not see the point of becoming the Sin Lord. Family, love, friendship, evil, malice... Nothings means anything to her. Perhaps a Straw Nihilist. Genuinely believes death is a gift.

Backstory: Leera wandered the multiverse, creating a lawless ground of human massacre. She is visiting Easton!Earth to do the same. To bless humans, aliens and other beings with eternal death.

Kosh the Hateful:

Identity: Kosh of Envious Hate. Villain, definitely. Perhaps the most villainous of the Sin Princes (except for the Sin Lord).

Powers & Abilities: Feeds on envy and hatred.

Power copying: Kosh can copy others' powers, but it will be weaker and he can only use one at a time.

Rebirth: Kosh can perform body snatching on almost anyone. Then, he assimilates the host.

Summoning: His assimilated and soon thrown away bodies transform into his hellish minions. Kosh can summon them at any time. These minions suffer from extreme pain.

Hate inducement: Can induce murderous hatred inside any person. But, like other Sin Princes' inducement abilities, can be overcome.

Appearance: Doesn't have a predetermined form. Changes

Personality: Jolly, relaxed and joyful. That is only his facade. Under that, he holds hatred against everything that exists. Omnicidal Maniac would be the right word to describe him. His reason for destroying everything: spite towards everything. If you thought that he would at least have love for his family... think again. In fact, his family is the number one target.

Backstory: Kosh at first wanted to not be evil. To defy his nature. He tried to undo his kind's mistakes, but was soon rewarded with destruction of his body. Basically, reality itself denied his redemption. As such, he started to hate everything that exists in the reality, and plans on destroying it.

All these characters approved. A few notes though:

  • Since this is superheroes and not horror, don'r expect characters to get away with much gore.

  • If you introduce a bunch of characters in a single post, that's how I will link to them as well. This might make it harder to select them individually later on. Its better to introduce each character or concept on a separate post.

Aye, not much gore, got it. I'm not really a fan of exessive blood and guts- makiing something scary without hurling buckets of red stuff on it tends to be more satisfying. And, well, he isn't supposed to really be a horror character- scary, yes, but not a monster.

Welcome, Spyguy! That's a good start but you're missing Description and Personality. A few more details on the other sections would not hurt either.

I know I am a bit late, but yes, I will not make a gore show, even though Sin Princes and Terror Duo are horror themed to a degree.

I'll introduce each character individually from now on (well, if there are characters to introduce).

I've been lurking a bit on this for a while and I think I have an interesting character concept in mind, though I'm not sure if something similar has already been done.

Essentially, my character is a girl who went diving, found a magical pearl, and it infused her with the spirit of a mermaid, which gave her magical powers like controlling water, breathing underwater, transforming her legs into a tail when swimming, and the ability to communicate with sea life. Basically a more competent version of Aquaman (Aquawoman?), with more relevance outside the water. It also made her the target of an ancient sea sorceress who wishes to obtain the power for herself, and who sends her minions up to the surface to attack her and steal the pearl.

I can still hail the Horde even though the company has shamed us. Strength and Honor even if Blizzard has neither.

First of all, greetings. Second, don't worry, that's original enough, and if you feel you need more details you can always ask me or the other players at the Discussion Thread. Once you have a full description, please post it here for evaluation. smile

I was just trying to think of how this kind of character would fit into the overarching world.

Well, God of Awesome has been hinting that we have an underwater civilization in the Pacific (Lemuria?) so maybe there's a connection there? You could PM him (he loves exchanging ideas)

Note this *isn't* necessary- we go here by a First Come, First Served rule. If you're the first person to come up with the concept of mermaids and magical pearls (and you are, AFAIK) then you are free to develop it and everyone else must use it- after it gets approved.

Okay, I think I've got a general signup put together.

  • Identity: Tina Thompson / Siren, Hero, student; tries to keep her identity a secret though it's hard with her powers
  • Powers & Abilities: Touching the black pearl gave her numerous abilities.
    • When in danger, or when submerged in water, the pearl automatically transforms her into Siren. While in this form she has full access to all of her powers, though she can still use her powers in civilian form, albeit weaker and rather uncontrollably. To transform back, she must either dry off, or be taken out of danger. If she concentrates hard enough, she can transform and transform back willingly, but she is unskilled at this so far.
    • She has enhanced strength and endurance, so she is stronger and can fight for longer than a normal human.
    • She can breathe underwater and swim quickly, since her legs transform into a tail when she is fully submerged in water.
    • Her voice can take on a beautiful and melodic tone to it, which can convince people to follow her instructions. People with strong minds can resist this. Her voice also allows her to communicate with sea life, and they are inclined to listen to her. When sufficiently roused, her voice can echo like an earthquake through the depths. In battle she can use this to make shockwaves of sound.
    • Her voice also allows her to conjure and manipulate water. By singing at certain tones, she can direct water to follow her commands, and even freeze or boil it.
  • Description: Civilian on left, hero on right
  • Personality:
    • Tina is shy and soft-spoken, mostly keeping to herself. Nonetheless, she gets passionate about certain subjects, especially the ocean and sea life. She is self-conscious about her looks, especially since she got her powers— she is not sure if people like her for her, or because of her voice. Humble and kind, she tries to do the right thing but she is unsure of herself. Despite this, she is also somewhat adventurous and eager to explore, and feels most at home by (or in) the ocean. Aside from staying by the ocean, she loves to read, and especially loves fairy tales and other fantastic stories. She is a bit of a romantic at heart.
    • Tina wants nothing more than to be normal, though the fact that she is targeted by the dark sorceress makes this all but impossible.
  • Background:
    • Tina was born in a suburb of Easton near the coast. From a young age, Tina was interested in the ocean and sea life, yet she mostly kept to herself. This made her a target by some of her older classmates, who called her "Tuna" and would pick on her. This sort of verbal abuse led to her soft-spoken and quiet personality. Nonetheless, she never did stop loving the ocean, and she would occasionally go on dives for fun and to explore the sea around her house.
    • One evening, she found a huge clam that she had never seen before. When she approached, it opened up and revealed a beautiful black pearl. Mesmerized by the pearl, Tina picked it up and, in a blinding flash of light, Tina was transformed into a mermaid, and a melodic voice rung out in her head, claiming it was the spirit within the pearl. The spirit said that she was a sorceress of light trapped in the pearl by a sorceress of darkness. The spirit continued that her spirit had been infused with Tina's, and they had a bond now. From this moment onward, the spirit would inhabit Tina's body, and when she was put in danger, would automatically transform her in order to attune her body to the magic of the form. After a moment of distress, Tina panicked and swam back up to the surface, finding that when she surfaced her tail transformed back into legs and turned back into her normal self. In haste, she returned home, confused and frightened and wishing that what had happened that night was simply a dream.
    • It was no dream. Ever since that day, her powers have both helped and hindered her in day to day life. From that moment on her powers would kick in at the most inopportune moments, from causing her to inadvertently steal things from stores when the store clerks were charmed by her voice and gave her things for free, or when in a heated argument her voice would shake the room slightly and cause cups of water to boil over. It all came to a head when, on her way back home from school, a strange almost fishy man confronted her, claiming she had something that "the birthright of the depths", and that if she did not return it, he would kill her and take it. Terrified beyond rational thought, she fled from him, though once cornered in an alleyway, she felt a strange magic overtake her body.
    • Tina then transformed into her mermaid form, Siren (only with legs instead of a tail), and she battled the fishy being, forcing him to retreat, but claiming that the forces of the dark sorceress would return and claim the power of the siren as rightfully theirs. After some deliberation, she decided to tell her parents and her friend Wanda about what happened, and decided that it was best to attempt to keep this a secret from the general public. Forces would conspire, however, to make this goal much more difficult than it needed to be...

I'll try and write up a signup for the dark sorceress and minions, as well as the mermaid civilization, later on.
