This thread is a metathread for Trope Repair Shop discussion. Things like TRS policy, what is needed in a TRS opening post, questions about whether a certain topic is TRS-worthy and questions about why a thread wasn't opened go here.
Some guidelines for when/whether to use TRS:
- If the trope is fine, but has some bad examples, feel free to clean them up or to start a cleanup project at Projects: Short-Term
. Trope Repair Shop is for when cleaning isn't sufficient.
- If you think there's something wrong with the trope that systematically attracts improper examples, start a discussion at Trope Talk. Use a Wick Check to see whether there's an issue present (and if there is, what the issue is), and post the results on TRS Queue and wait your turn if a problem is present. The following methods are two possible ways to do a wick check (though not necessarily the only ways):
- You can go ahead with the Wick Check without a discussion if you know what you're looking for. While it's not mandatory, feel free to ask someone for help confirming that you got the issue and the numbers correct.
- Consult the Wick Check Project thread to collect evidence if you need help.
- If a wick check is too much for you, you can leave the issue at Tropes Needing TRS citing the discussion.
- Depending on a trope (or non-trope) in question, a wick check may be determined to not be required, such as for tropes that are not thriving (per the standards for trope health listed on the Wick page). However, there is no problem if you want to do one anyway.

I'm not sure what kind of checking you're referring to, but I reverted the page to how it was regardless.
That said, I don't see anything wrong with the OP, and I don't think it needs a wick check due to the low wick count.

I meant by checking is to see if it has gained enough wicks to keep it afloat for a while after Synch made the redirect. Though may I ask why you reverted the queue? I don't think I would have the time and energy to evaluate my OP before it would officially get booted onto the TRS section if that time comes, hence why it's on hold.

Right now it's at 28 wicks (27 if you ignore the redirect) and the redirect itself has 0. I assume that means that the redirect failed.

I reverted it because I misunderstood what you were wanting to do with the thread. Personally, I think it's fine to go ahead and make it since, as previously said, the redirect didn't help much, and the OP is fine. (Though there's one more thread to make before it can be made.)

Painted Tunnel, Real Train's name and description describe a very specific scenario. In examples and even in Looney Tunes, neither tunnels or trains are that common. Would rewriting into "Characters arbitrarily can enter or leave a drawing of an area" be a TRS or Description Improvement issue?
From Clones to Genre is not Trivia despite not describing work contents and being a Follow the Leader subtrope. Fine to queue?

It's been a strong couple days in clearing out projects! 3/5 of the previous featured "lowest wicks" pages are done, and there's still another day to go before my self-imposed minimum timespan for updating the figures.

Sturgeon's Law has a lot of wicks, but a buttload of namespaces have already been cleaned (including Main/ as of the cleanup I did a bit ago), so the actual total number of wicks to go through shouldn't be that high, since we're not removing all of them.

This is a heads up that the TRS is likely to slow down quite a bit since there are going to be two major wick clean-ups added that likely won't get resolved soon: Names The Same (7500+ wicks) and with the way The Chick is going, that too (5000+ wicks).
I know people have mentioned the length of the queue as an issue (I personally don't really see that as a major problem per se, at least not with the TRS), so I'm mentioning this to adjust expectations even more so in the coming weeks/months.
Naturally, helping out with older unresolved threads would free up more space while those are underway. But in lieu of that, it seems that likely fewer threads will be opened and resolved in the near future.

Yeah, the one issue with my summaries is that they don't account for projects like that. Maybe I'll reinstitute my previous categories of "biggest change" and "stagnant," though those do take more time to crunch and I'm busier now that I got a job.

If anyone wants to help get a big thread closed in the meantime, I'm still stalled on Uncanny Valley and you can see where I left off on Sandbox.Uncanny Valley Wick Cleanup. There's actually very few namespaces left to check, and the cleanup isn't actually that difficult. Don't let the wick number fool you; most of it are just wicks that were able to be kept.
