This thread is for general discussion of page quotes, whether to change, move or remove them.
Unused quotes should be put on a Quotes Wiki page (just replace the namespace in the URL of the wiki page you are making a quotes page for with Quotes/) or, if they don't have an article, on Quotes Looking for an Article.
Image captions are discussed elsewhere and have their own thread in the Image Pickin' forum.

I dunno, I personally don't like page quotes that combines dialogue and monologue like that. Better a straightforward conversation that can be formatted as
- Person A: text
Person B: response
or a normal description.
The quote for Heroic Build was unilaterally removed by captainpat with the edit reason "This trope is about super powered beings with perfect muscular bodies not any man or woman." This strikes me as nitpicking, do we put it back?
Quote for reference:
I don't think the quote's a very good fit. It sounds more like it's talking about Men Are Strong, Women Are Pretty.
It fits the page image, though. At least it isn't worse than no quote.

The Revolution Will Not Be TropeableThe quote on Leitmotif might work better for the recently-launched Leitmotif upon Death, if it even works at all.
I could think of a few replacements for Leitmotif.

(x4) While I personally feel captainpat should have seen this thread first, I honestly don't like your suggestion. This is because I don't feel it covers the part about the character being a superhero(ine). If you have any other suggestions, however, I would like to hear them.
(x2) Honestly, I prefer a page with no page quote than one with an unreliable page quote.
I agree that that fits Leitmotif upon Death more.

Wasn't a suggestion, twas the deleted quote.
I'd like to apologize for all this.Well, you were bringing it up, so I assumed it was tbh. It's fine, though.
Gary the Rat has two quotes.
I prefer the first, personally.
Just Woke Up That Way has the same quote as the page for the work in question.
There are some quotes that we can use to replace the one on the trope page. Leaning towards using the Kadabra one.
she/her | TRS needs your help! | Contributor of Trope ReportThis page on Afghanistan has three quotes, which is too many,I need some help deciding which should be removed and what should stay?
New theme music also a boxman that quote is weird. why did he become a Kadabra and not an Abra. Why was this never referenced again. Why does it contradict everything known about Pokémon even at the time.
It's got my vote
i always subscribed to the fanon that the Pokédex entries were nonsense scribbled in the Research Notes section by the very young protagonists while the professors study the actual biological and ecological info the thing records
anyway, it's a good quote.

to the Kadabra quote (I always assumed it was an in-universe urban legend)
Absolute destiny... apeachalypse?x4: Not a big fan of any of those, to be honest.
135 - 158 - 273 - 191 - 188 - 230 - 300I prefer the Kadabra quote personally.
(x5) I honestly don't like any of those.

x6: Joining the consensus against all the Afghanistan quotes. These are all what imperialists thought about Afghanistan, not about Afghanistan itself. I vote for pulling them all.
Though, to be fair, the description of Afghanistan is almost entirely about it being constantly conquered but hard to hold. So at least these quotes are consistent with that. So if we stick with one, I vote for the first one.
The quote for Dangerous Phlebotinum Interaction and the image caption for And Some Other Stuff are the same. I'm not sure what we should do about this, anyone have any ideas?
I don't really see it as a problem since they're separate pages and both fit nicely
The quote for Hurting Hero doesn't fit the "perseveres despite the pain" part of the trope.
Now that Engineered Heroics has been merged with Heroism Addict I think that the quote should be changed
Out of all the entries from quotes page, I like the Dragon Ball Super quote the best. What is your opinion on the matter?
Edited by randomtroper89 on Oct 21st 2022 at 7:06:21 AM
x4 - The lone entry on the quote page of Dangerous Phlebotinum Interaction seems to describe the trope pretty well, so I would just change it to that.
How about this quote for Hurting Hero?
I'm not sure if the quote in Hard Truth Aesop is all that clear. The way it describes two conflicting "moral lessons" make it seems like the work doesn't actually present any aesop and that the author allows the readers to see whatever "moral lesson" they might seem appropriate.
Other alternatives from the subpage:
(both girls go into a Stunned Silence, then start to cry)
Nozomi: Moroboshi-sensei!
Moroboshi: What? I'm spitting facts!

I feel your suggestion is good too.
