I'm new to editing, and I thought I would try to help out on this project as time allows. I just ran through Anime.Net Ghost Pi Po Pa and did the following:
- Commented out all of the ZC Es I saw.
- Fixed a few indentation issues.
- Added a link to this discussion in the edit reason box.
I'm not familiar with the series so I didn't mess with the spoilers, but there are no trope names spoiler-tagged, so I didn't think that was a big deal.
Could someone peek and tell me if there's a step I've missed?
Hey, it looks like you did really well there. Thanks for helping out, hope you stick around to do more.

We are happy to have you. You're my hero du jour on TV Tropes. The page looks very good.

Would "Some academics claim" be a ZCE? I've seen it on some classical works, but with these works, there will always be some academics claiming *anything*.
Yeah, absolutely. Who are these academics? Why do we care what they said? Do these academics even have any knowledge of the field they're talking about? A bunch of paleontologists can claim that pizza is the cure to cancer, but that doesn't mean they're right. It's literally a meaningless statement and shouldn't be taken as context.
Currently Working On: Incorruptible Pure PurenessI'd say it depends. If that's all there is — "According to academics", "some academics claim so", or "she is this, as some academics say"— then yes, definitely ZCE. The info about academics or literary professors thinking something is sort of irrelevant anyway.
I'd say some literature analysis are ok with finding implied tropes and other less obvious stuff, but yes, you can find even downright crazy things and people can publish almost anything in certain circles.

What's an example?
Join the Five-Man Band cleanup project!Literal Music Video is almost entirely no-context weblinks. I believe appropriate context in this case would involve saying which type (lyrics changed to match video, or video made to match lyrics) and an explanation of how the original content of the song/video differ from the remix.
"It's just a show; I should really just relax"Thoughts on Theme Tune Rap? Some of the examples are like:
- The BOTS Master opened with one.
- Another sort of example is Dynomutt, Dog Wonder.
- Gilligan's Planet (another Filmation production) does this.
Work X does this or Alice does this are among the worst ZCE word crufts in my opinion, regardless what the trope is.
Seconded. There is always more context than that. Who performs the rap? What are the lyrics about? Say something beyond "this example is an example."
Pretty much the majority of examples on Characters.John From Cincinnati are ZCEs.
Opinions on this article: Blog.Ask Poke Profs?
It's horrible re ZCE, but this last entry ticked me off:
- What Could Have Been: A whole set of tropes listed here by the author might not have happened yet.
Should we cutlist the page? Speculative troping is not allowed, and I doubt anyone will volunteer to check which tropes are actually present on the blog.
That's...oof, what in the world?
Currently Working On: Incorruptible Pure PurenessI don't even... Cut?
I would to be safe...
Currently Working On: Incorruptible Pure PurenessBelatedly, thank you for your encouragement.
I cleaned up two pages today during random-media trawling: Film.Cobra Woman and Webcomic.Annarasumanara. The former barely has enough tropes uncommented to remain a page.
Signature Song: Is just naming the song enough context?
If the three ZCEs are removed, it only has 1 trope.
And there's not enough context in the description for more tropes?
Disambig Needed: Help with those issues! tvtropes.org/pmwiki/posts.php?discussion=13324299140A37493800&page=24#comment-576No.
I say cutlist. Poor quality article.
The Fan-Preferred Couple section on Neptunia's YMMV page has examples that are just "Character x Character" and several examples of listing multiple pairings with the same character, and nothing to justify why they're both the most popular.
I'm illiterate. Superman 64 has a better characters than The Last of Us Part II.Scrubbed Literature.Bored Of The Rings and fixed some indentation issues. I also cut a couple of tropes that were completely misused.
Been a while since I did a purge, feels good. Cleaned up Civilized Animal, Talking Animal and Partially Civilized Animal.
