Kory: i will need to do some more testing to see if the 500KB should be lowered even more but either way everyone can relax because the database will not crash or implode in anyway due to page size so splitting pages isn't a huge priority and is just more of a suggestion. For pages that actually load slow, splitting the pages will help slower internet users navigate these pages better.
It looks like pages over 500,000 characters (html formatted, that is) are crashing the server when someone tries to edit them. programmer's whine
They need to be fixed, anyway. Way too big for one page. They need to be broken up into subpages of a reasonable size.
I'm trying to get better about communicating before big changes, so we'll let this one run for a while before taking the action. The server crashes do come under the heading of 'urgent', though.

Would it help to split between A-F and G-M?

() The N-Z page is significantly smaller (though still big enough that it might not be too long before it triggers the suggestion), so maybe re-splitting the whole thing three ways would work.
I could see that working.

Discombobulate. Can the Grand Unified Timeline pages be split into smaller pages with shorter time ranges?
Number 1 CGI Fireman Sam defenderBuilding on this; "The Decade with No Name" could probably be split in half with the early 2000s and late 2000s:

Suggested splits for the Grand Unified Timeline pages. All file sizes are the size of the resulting downloaded file when each range is copied to my personal sandbox.
- Grand Unified Timeline - The World Wars, size of each folder:
- 1914-1919: 218 KB
- 1920s: 234 KB
- 1930s: 255 KB
- 1940-1945: 286 KB
- Size of pages if split two folders at a time: 1914-1929 335 KB, 1930-1945 423 KB
- Suggestion: Turn the 1930s (the Great Depression) and World War II into their own pages. Either do the same with World War I and the Roaring Twenties, or leave them combined in a single page.
- Grand Unified Timeline The Post War Era:
- 1946-1949: 193 KB
- 1950s (both folders combined): 381 KBnote
- 1960-1963: 277 KB
- 1955-1963 (combined): 425 KB
- Suggestion: Shorten the "post-war era" to 1946-1954 and split the late 1950s to its own page.
- Grand Unified Timeline - The Age Of Rebellion:
- 1964-1969: 323 KB
- 1960s combined: 482 KB
- 1970s combined: 432 KB
- Suggestion: Because I suspect non-content stuff that doesn't contribute to triggering the suggestion makes up over 100 KB of the above totals, your choice whether to simply create pages for the decades of the 60s and 70s, or create/retain early-late decade splits. However, it would probably be better to leave 1955-1963 combined than to create a pan-60s page, which would likely leave 1964-1969 to get its own page, perhaps inheriting a few years at the start of the 70s. (As such, having early/late-decade splits from the late 50s on would probably be simplest.) However, the 80s subpage is triggering the suggestion so needs to be split between the early and late decade no matter what.
- Resulting suggested splits:
- World War I and the Roaring Twenties (name pending) (1914-1929, possibly split in two pages)
- The Great Depression (1930-1938 or 1939)
- World War II (1939 or 1940-1945)
- The Post-War Era (1946-1954)
- The Late 1950s
- The Early 1960s
- The Late 1960s
- etc.

While cleaning up wicks, I found that Sandbox.LGBT Representation In Media was giving the warning. Do we need this sandbox, as there are already pages in the proper namespaces?
Edit: JustForFun.Everybody Knows That is also triggering the warning.

~Crossover-Enthusiast (tagging as original page creator from February 2023): Is Sandbox.LGBT Representation In Media still necessary?
WesternAnimation.King Of The Hill is showing the suggestion
Sandbox.Monster Fan Works is showing the suggestion, which probably means that Monster.Fan Works is also too long.
Just from taking a quick look at the main page, I'd suggest that we start by moving all episode-exclusive examples (there's at least nine hundred cases thereof) to the various episode recap pages, which would probably reduce it to well below the point of needing splitting.
Until next time...

Villain with Good Publicity is giving the too-long warning. Video Games and Live-action Television are the longest folders, so I'd say we split those folders off.
"Kenny isn't evil, he just did a little too much trolling. :p" | He/HimAs has been mentioned a few pages back, I support the idea for splitting the Scream: Ghostface into Masterminds and Accomplices. Seems to be the only way to do it that wouldn't require changing the name of one of the pages in the future (example, if the pages were split up into "Scream 1-3" and "Scream 4-6", it would be awkward having to adjust for the inevitable Scream 7).
My only uncertainty would be were to put the Disc One Final Boss Ghostfaces from the beginning of Scream 6. Since they weren't the masterminds of the film, nor were they the accomplices of the actual Big Bad Ghostface.
My two cents: keep the main Ghostface page for tropes about Ghostface in general.
Create two pages — one for Masterminds which would include Billy, Nancy, Roman, Richie, Wayne; one for Accomplices that would have Stu, Mickey, Charlie, Amber, Ethan, and Quinn. Jill keeps her own page unless it can be absorbed into Masterminds.
Keep Jason and Greg on the main GF page since they wouldn't apply to either of the two new subpages. The "General" folders for each set of killers should stay on the main page as well.
