- Broken Base: Opinions on the main cast are divisive at best, some viewers do have a bit of disdain towards Jake due to his tendency to cry over even some of the littlest of things, especially in one episode that focuses on crocodile tears. Others have negative views on Fizz due to her sometimes grabbing the Jerkass Ball and having a horrendously high-pitched scream. Bella out of all of them is the least-fondly remembered due to her frequent bossy and overconfident attitude.
- Jerkass Woobie: Despite Bella's status as The Scrappy, it can be hard to not feel sorry for her in "Left Out" when she feels excluded from the activities that the others were playing.
- Memetic Mutation:
- Tweenie Clock, where will it stop!
- Bella's Fairy Tale...ale...ale...ale. Explanation
- Nausea Fuel: In the episode "Jake's Been Sick", where at one point, we get a close-up of Fizz's shoe covered in Jake's vomit.
- Overshadowed by Controversy: Unless you grew up with the Tweenies in the UK, most likely the first thing you heard about the series was the incident in which the episode "Favourite Songs", featuring Max dressed up as Jimmy Savile, aired in 2013 after Saville was revealed to be a prolific sexual predator who took advantage of children, which not only got the episode knocked off the airwaves altogether but took the series with it for four months.
- Periphery Demographic: It could count. The fandom isn't near as big now (though still has a devoted following), but it generated two top-10 and three other top-20 singles in the United Kingdom at the height of its popularity. The Tweenies also made multiple appearances on Top of the Pops and even had a live show.
- The Problem with Licensed Games: Tweenies: Game Time was released for the PS1 in 2001 by BBC Multimedia. The game is a Mini Game Game, but there are only four mini-games; "Jake's Dot World", "Milo's Space Race", "Bella's Fairytale Castle" and "Fizz's Disco". These mini-games can all be beaten within five minutes. The game's character models are ugly, Max's, in particular, looking nothing like his TV series counterpart, and the game has tons of loading screens, including one before the screen that asks you whether or not you want to play the same mini-game again. The game's FMVs run at a very low framerate, and sound design is horribly bit-crushed. The game also has two notable glitches; one that makes the game load forever, requiring you to reset it, and another that makes the game stuck on a repeating sound when you choose a mini-game before the Tweenie you play as finishes talking. Caddicarus has an entertaining review of the game.
- The Scrappy: Due to her bossiness and overconfidence, Bella isn't exactly the most fondly-remembered character.
- Tear Jerker: Milo crying in the episode, "Dustcart" after he finds out that Judy had accidentally thrown away a paper airplane his uncle had made for him. Unlike the other Tweenies who either wailed or sobbed loudly, the poor kid just slumps and sniffles sadly. Keep in mind that this is the first and only time Milo has actually cried in the series.
