YMMV / SMPLive

Go To

  • Archive Panic: Given that anytime someone was online, they were required to be streaming, there's a lot of content for SMPLive. A lot of it is lost to time.
  • Awesome Moments: Sneegsnag facing off against five other players and winning.
  • Cult Classic: Within MCYT spaces. While due to its age it has become more obscure, there are still a good anount of dedicated fans.
  • Discredited Meme: "Eat Pant Conar" was spammed so much in chats and comment sections that everyone agrees it's annoying at this point. It was so bad that typing it in Connor's Twitch chat would result in you getting banned.
  • Estrogen Brigade: While SMPLive wasn't really targeting any one gendered demographic, its initial audience was definitely mostly teenage boys and young men. Because of this, the influx of teenage girls running stan accounts took creators off guard.
  • Fanon: Cooper is frequently drawn by fans as a humanoid fish hybrid closer to his IRL appearance, complete with a set of Ear Fins.
  • Friendly Fandoms: To SMPEarth and Dream SMP, due to creator (and sometimes character) overlap.
  • LGBT Fanbase: A largely unexpected and unintentional one, though moreso on Twitter and Tumblr than on Twitch. Some creators point this out, such as Cooper:
    Cooper: The gays love me.
  • Mexicans Love Speedy Gonzales: Depsite the many jokes riffing on homosexuality, gay stereotypes and homophobia (albeit not in a way that portrays homophobia positively), SMPLive attracted a large amount of LGBT fans.
  • Moe: Travis seems to attract this sort of behavior due to his silly overexcitable behavior and tendency to not swear. The comments of any SMPLive video featuring him tend to be swarmed with "awww"-ing and timestamps of "cute Travis moments". This tends to lead to issues when he's involved in court cases where chat is used to decide the ruling, as bias tends to lean in his favor very quickly.
  • Never Live It Down: "Conar" is still banned in Connor's chat to this day.
  • Pop Culture Holiday: The server's creation day, March 1st.
  • Viewer Species Confusion: Schlatt's mascot is a sheep, but many fans think he's a goat.
  • What Do You Mean, It's Not for Kids?: Minecraft video content is often stereotyped as pandering to children. SMPLive is very much not that, considering the amount of dirty jokes, offensive humor and swearing present.
