- Big-Lipped Alligator Moment: After the scene with Smore writing in his diary, we see the cast doing the "Carlton Banks Dance" outside the Conotiopia Central Park for no rhyme or reason in chapter 1 of Kiloto the Minoto.
- Broken Base: The one thing any viewer can agree on about the show is the controversy it brings. One half of the base is generally okay with the whole gore schtick this show pulls up time and time again, and don't find the writing to be all that terrible. However, the other half consists of people who generally see the darkness and blood of the show as unnecessary and view the show as trying to be really edgy.
- Hilarious in Hindsight: In "Parkour Idiocy," Magazine was using a phone entitled the MePhone3Gs. Two years later, Inanimate Insanity II's thirteenth episode ("Mine Your Own Business") got released, and in one of MePhone4's flashbacks, there was a phone that was named in the credits "MePhone3GS".
- Lost in Translation: In the Japanese part of the show's logo, it actually says "Object Terr-o-."
- Memetic Mutation: "Oh sh*t, this is gonna make me frown!"Context
- The Scrappy:
- Printer in the second reboot. Some people criticize him for his Hair-Trigger Temper and how he has caused Sensory Abuse to viewers by yelling so loud it clips the microphone and is able to make headphones users go deaf.
- Beep Boop has two really annoying traits, bragging about his so-called sexy voice and screaming loudly with said voice at inappropriate times that it's not even funny. To prove this point, he was in the bottom two twice when his team was up for elimination.
- Strangled by the Red String: The lack of build-up of Trowel and Beer's relationship upgrade can be seen as this, given the utter surprise at how out-of-nowhere their kissing scene was according to the comments in "Kiloto the Minoto".
- They Changed It, Now It Sucks!: In the beginning, Object Terror was just an average Object Show with the standard package, being competition-based, having a cast ranging from bland to mediocre in terms of personality and episodic elimination and challenges. However, episode 3 of the first reboot marked history with the introduction of gore into the series. The early episodes of the second reboot had some minor changes, a bit of inexplicable gore and slightly mature content, but there was still absolutely nothing special about it. That is until "A Perplexing Massacre" took a turn for the worst, cranking the gore, vulgarity and bad writing up to eleven (and by cranking the gore up to eleven, we mean ranking up to Happy Tree Friends-tier Gorn). Most viewers criticize the show for having the characters swear, do unsavory things ([cough] Trowel and Beer [cough]) and getting killed in the most gruesome ways, especially since Brian thought it was a good idea to make objects have human insidesnote . Thus, Object Terror has become one of the most controversial Object Shows to date.
- Squick:
- Most of the gore scenes.
- Stapler going full-barf mode on Carpet. G-R-O-S-S!
- The time Trowel and Beer kissed made some viewers quite uncomfortable.
- They Wasted a Perfectly Good Plot: The end of the first reboot episode "Airplane Donuts" showed Wallet possessing Printer. This may have interested some fans about what would happen while Printer is possessed, but then they rebooted it again, and the 'possessed Printer' plot never came to happen.
- Viewer Gender Confusion: People can't help but think that Arch, who is canonically male, is a girl. It doesn't help that Brain once drew Arch with eyelashes on his Twitter.
- Viewer Species Confusion: Especially if you don't know what a trowel is, you'll easily mistake Trowel for a spear due to his appearance.
- What Do You Mean, It's Not for Kids?: Let's just say that despite looking like an innocent Battle for Dream Island-inspired show, it is rather very gory ala Happy Tree Friends, vulgar, and definitely not for kids at all.
