• Complete Monster: Manny Fraker trumps all other villains from this series in psychopathic evil. Introduced in jail when he informs the hero Paul Kersey he's going to "kill a little old lady, just for you later," Fraker is soon out of prison and on to ruling the streets with an iron fist. Anyone who so much as looks at his gang wrong ends up dead, and he orders several horrific murders, at one point organizing a gang rape of a woman so brutal it ends up killing her. Fraker murders Kersey's Love Interest by pushing her into traffic before blowing her up as well.
• Critical Dissonance: It has a negative critical reception, but it has a positive fan reception. Critics at the time didn't like a man of Bronson's age being portrayed as an One-Man Army. Fans, however, are delighted to see Bronson kicking massive amounts of ass.
• Cult Classic: To fans of Charles Bronson and action movie aficionados in general.
• Narm: Many elements.
  • Shriker keeps calling Kersey "dude" a couple of times when they're onscreen together. It comes out of nowhere, has no set up and sounds awkward coming out of the mouth of a middle-aged man.
  • After Fraker sends his cronies out to raise hell, one of them can be spotted brandishing a plunger as if it's a deadly weapon.
  • Kersey killing the crook who stole his camera is cheered by an entire neighborhood block as if it's the best thing that's ever happened. Neighbors are even opening their apartment windows just to praise Kersey.
  • Fraker's face before he gets blown up by Kersey with a bazooka. Classic.
  • Four words: "THEY KILLED THE GIGGLER!"
  • The characters' overuse of the word 'creeps' to refer to the bad guys.
• Older Than They Think: The use of traps against bad guys in films like Skyfall and Rambo: Last Blood is often compared to Home Alone but Kersey uses these same sort of traps in this film which was made five years earlier.
• Retroactive Recognition:
  • Marina Sirtis is Maria.
  • Alex Winter is a gang member.
  • A policeman is played by Mac McDonald, who would later be best known for playing Captain Hollister in Red Dwarf.
• Signature Scene: The final battle sequence.
• Special Effect Failure: When Kersey throws the Cuban off a rooftop, you can clearly see a stiff mannequin landing on a car.
