  • Crowning Music of Awesome: "Blood", his WWE theme. In fact, in multiple interviews, Gangrel and Christian have noted that they're smiling and moving to the music because it was that awesome.
  • Creepy Awesome: A vampire wrestler rising from a ring of fire, a rocking theme, spits blood and somehow could compel four future champions to his side? Hell yeah.
  • Ensemble Dark Horse: Seemingly able to connect with crowds and get over everywhere he goes.
  • Fridge Brilliance/Hilarious in Hindsight: Depending on whether this was intentional, but look at two of his power trios. The Day Walkers? Adam Castle and Matt Cage. The Brood? A guy whose real name is ADAM and was formerly known as Sexton HardCASTLE and his best friend whose full ring name is Christian CAGE.
  • Harsher in Hindsight: During the pre-show to Over the Edge, the Brood would do a "blood bath" segment which left a smear of fake blood on the ring apron on the camera side. About an hour later, Owen Hart fell to his death, and several wrestlers who saw the stain assumed it was from Owen.
  • Heartwarming in Hindsight: Gangrel himself never got far, but the fact that since returning to the WWE, Edge has been using his Ring of Fire entrance and brought several Call Backs to his Brood days means that the "blood of Gangrel" flows through Edge's veins and that the Brood is forever a part of him.
  • Hollywood Pudgy: The New Brood faced the Hollys (Hardcore and Crash) on the September 6, 1999 Raw. After Matt and Jeff failed to meet the "superheavyweight" standard, Crash looked to Gangrel and asked, "How about you, Dracula, you fat bastard?" The WWE originally intended to have him team with Kevin Thorn and Ariel in a vampire stable on WWECW, but the plan was scrapped due to his weight problems.
  • Narm: The very first time The Brood spoke was...awkward to say the least. Gangrel's voice was no doubt much different from what the crowd was expecting as he had a rather nasal and nervous way of speaking and it sounds like he hadn't taken any time to rehearse his lines and even stutters while trying to say the word "search". Edge didn't fare much better as he sounded just as nervous as Gangrel but with a little extra haminess added that makes him sound like he's voicing a villain in a bad 90's anime dub. Christian manages to save face because he doesn't actually say anything in this promo.
  • Nightmare Fuel: On an episode of Raw, The Brood was attacked by The Ministry. During the attack, Farooq and Bradshaw tied a noose around Gangrel's neck and hung him over the ropes. This on its own is quite scary, but it gets much worse when you learn that the noose was legitimately strangling Gangrel due to the rope not being suitable for a stunt like this. He's since said that he could feel his consciousness fading and most likely would've died had Mideon not seen that something was wrong and subtly lifted him with his shoulder to take pressure off of his neck.
  • Tear Jerker: In countless interviews, Gangrel is shown choking up in regards to ex-wife Luna Vachon showing how much he truly loved her even after they divorced. They were, after all, married for twelve years, which is certainly no Vegas wedding. At one point, he said how painful it was for them to divorce, but realized that their partying and drinking lifestyles were going to be the deaths of them.
  • Unexpected Character: Crashing the Elite Deletion match between his former disciple Matt Hardy and his young student Sammy Guevara to side with Sammy by taking The Hurricane hostage was certainly one of the more surprising moments of Full Gear 2020.
  • Vindicated by History: Despite never getting as far as his other Brood partners, Gangrel's still pretty popular with those in the IWC. A cool vampire gimmick and awesome theme music creating one of the best and most memorable ring entrances in the history of the company, plus being a launching pad for Edge, Christian, and the Hardy Boyz, will do that to you.
