Pikachu: Trust me, Ash; I speak from experience.

Ashchu Comics is a fan-made Pokemon Web Comic drawn and written by Coshi-Dragonite on Deviantart. Not to be confused with a certain infamous NSFW Web Comic featuring Ashchu and friends.

Taking place during the Hoenn arc of the Pokémon TV series, Ash and friends take a detour at Pokémon Park to let their teams have some R & R, before Ash ends up getting berry pelted by a mischevious Aipom; and after giving chase, stumbles into the Pokemon Witch in Training Lily and gets turned into a Pikachu (again).

After getting some explanation from Lily's companion, a researcher named Harry, that he came hoping to do observation on the Pokemon visiting the park as a Pokemon himself (since humans can't enter the park themselves), Ash volunteers to help out. Team Rocket, of course, catches wind of this, and antics ensue.

The comic originally started in 2006, but is now considered a Dead Fic; with its most recent update in 2015. As such, all spoilers will be unmarked.

Tropes in this webcomic include:

  • Asshole Victim: Harry, in the final updated page when after he explains that he had a Pikachu of his own with him using a camera to observe from afar in case his main camera was lost. Ashchu is severely unamused by this and zaps him with a Thunderbolt as revenge for Harry threatening to throttle Ash if he lost said camera earlier in the story.
  • The Bus Came Back: Lily and Misty, as well as Pokémon Park itself. And of course, Ashchu himself.
  • Call-Back: May is seen in one panel cocooned in a String Shot attack, with Lily explaining May asked for a spell to have skin smooth as Spinarak silk, much like Misty did in Hocus Pokemon. Misty comforts the petrified Trainer in saying she went through the same thing before.
Misty: (to May) I tried to warn ya!
  • Explain, Explain... Oh, Crap!: After Lily and Murkrow appear alongside Harry to back up Ash and friends against Team Rocket, she warns Ash that if he got caught in a Pokeball, he would be stuck as a Pikachu forever. Unfortunately, all this is in front of Team Rocket, who attempt to take advantage of this information.
  • Funny Background Event: Some pages of the comic are chock full of 'em.
  • Forced Transformation: Poor Ketchum becoming a Pikachu yet again.
  • Heel–Face Turn: Aipom originally aligns with Team Rocket, but after realizing that it got in with the wrong crowd working with Jessie, James and Meowth, it switches sides to help Ash take the Terrible Trio down.
  • Join or Die: Well, not exactly die, per se, but Meowth invokes Blackmail on Ash with their alternative to facing Aipom in battle is for Ash and Pikachu to join Team Rocket outright (which was Team Rocket's main plan from the start). Otherwise, they could let slip that Ash lost Harry's camera and... his threat to poor Ash could come to pass.
  • Mythology Gag: On page 18 in a montage of Ash and Pikachu enjoying themselves at the park, one panel shows Ash and Pikachu riding down a hill using a leaf as a sled, in a similar scene out of the first OP of the Johto arc OK!.
  • Pokémon Speak: Played straight with at first, but inverted with Ash discovering he's learned how to understand Pokemon speech over time.
  • Ridiculously Cute Critter: All the Pokemon on display, including transformed Ash.
  • Training Montage: There's two of them, in fact. A failed first one for Ash trying to learn Pokemon moves to battle against Aipom; and another (more successful one) after Ash learns how to better communicate with Pikachu and other Pokemon.
  • Vacation Episode: The comic itself can be considered this from the anime.
