Trivia / Tower of Fantasy

  • All-Star Cast:
  • Blooper: There's a part in the 2.1 storyline where Lyra's cutscene model was supposed to be a hologram as her voice has an electronic filter and she was communicating to the group via holographic projection, but her in-game model was accidentally used.
  • Meme Acknowledgement: In early versions of the global release, the "9" on password keypads was incorrectly displayed as "10% off." While the error eventually got fixed, the devs later snuck in a self-deprecating joke with the Avatar Frame "Lovin' a Discount". It features a "10% off" tag and the description counts from 1 to 8.
  • No Export for You: Marc and Baiyuekui are characters from a Crossover event with Ling Long Incarnation, a Chinese-exclusive (as of now) CGI animation series. They were confirmed not to be present in the Global release.
  • Prop Recycling:
    • One of the bigger examples of this trope is the use of an enlarged recycle bin as part of a console for one of the interior rooms of the Tower of Fantasy.
    • One of the floor cleaning droids in the Entertainment Center in Mirroria is pretty much the Magnetic Pulse relic.
  • What Could Have Been:
    • In the prologue of the original script, Zeke reluctantly kills Shirli before her transformation and would have gone on a revenge spree after who he thinks was responsible for her death, as seen here. This was deemed too dark by playtesters, so the writers changed the story so Shirli still lives and becomes Nemesis. A portrait of her (still in her beta design) is still visible on the shrine of the dead in the Astra Shelter if one looks closely.
    • Some past character designs reveals that:
      • Shirli was supposed to have maroon hair and eyes and was later changed to blonde and blue eyes. She also wears trendy street clothes in her first and second design that made her look a little more mature.
      • Zeke's design has a different color palette (blue and grey on the first build then brown and grey on the second) compared to his white and yellow in the final version.
      • In the same picture, it's hinted that Dr. Claire was also a playable Simulacrum with the aberration element as she is shown to using a scythe with the same color as Lin's element.
    • Tian Lang's name was supposed to be Sirius in the English Version, but the player backlash made the translators change it back at the last minute before release. This resulted in the English Dub in 2.1 calling him by his supposed Dub name whereas he is called Tian Lang everywhere else since it was too late to re-record new lines.
    • Molinia would have been an active character in the cast, but has been Demoted to Extra. At least her skin was made playable as a generic Simulacrum.
