Roommates has some trivia connected to it, most concerning Author - Audience relationship.
- Actor Allusion: Pretty much running gag. Enough to some fans suspect that Jack Frost was cast due to Chris Pine recently being cast in Into the Woods, but Word of Ashe is that the casting for jack came long before they knew about Pine. But:
- Erik's new girlfriend was played by his old one's actress.
- Tony Stark mistaking Jake Jensen to almost everybody his actor ever played.
- Whole arcs like the Copies one.
- And many more.
- Approval of God: Ashe is a highly fandom friendly author. (S)he holds polls / reads the comments / etc. on her DeviantArt account etc.. Making fanwork for her fancomic is encouraged too.
- Ascended Fanon: ...and if (s)he likes something it becomes canon. Like most of these:
- Fanon: Everything William Shakespeare has ever written. Any reference to his work results instant Mass "Oh, Crap!" from the readers.
- Meaningful Release Date: Ever so often.
- The first or last pages of Halloween arcs tend to fall on Halloween.
- Or the this troperiffic 2012 Halloween arc:
- First page (#280 Invitation) out on October 1th (almost on full moon)
- the Hunt began / prey summoned (#284 Quarry) on October 29 (Closest Full Moon to Halloween which is the more obscure date for the pagan celebration of Samhain)
- the Winner was announced (#293 Winner) on December 22 (more or less Winter Solstice)
- the end of the actual action (#294 Gift - We got a Christmas Gift!) was out on Christmas Eve
- last page (#295 Unplanned) was published on New Years Eve
- The 2013 Big Summer arc is scheduled to begin on June 21 (the Summer Solstice)
- The Erlkönig arc ended on the Winter Solstice too.
- And Der Erlkönig special was released on Father's Day. He is the father of a main cast member
- Official Fan-Submitted Content: There are suggestion journals and opinion polls. From who wants to see Day in the Limelight episode to the naming of Jareth's sister.
- Schedule Slip: An extremely rare occurrence. More prone to the inversion so getting published on a more rapid rate. The Zombie Halloween arc of 2011 holds the record with 2 pages/day! Still suffered a smaller Series Hiatus in the summer of 2013 because of the author's health problems.
- Similarly Named Works: There are a number of webcomics entitled "Roomies"; one that evolved into It's Walky! and another about an anthropomorphic horse.
- Teasing Creator: Ashe has distinctive shades of this mostly in the form of deliberately vague answers.
- Also you know someone is this if after introducing a "new" character of fangirl squee worthy adorableness said fangirls also go:
- Word of Dante: Anything said about the verse that's not Word of God, Word of Saint Paul or Ascended Fanon including the other more accepted Spin Offs and the more speculative parts of this very wiki article (Ashe reads TV Tropes and the Recursive Fanfiction of his/her work though).
- Word of God: A whole lot. The Artist comments, the journals, the responses to fan questions etc..
- Word of Saint Paul: Girls Next Door and anything else Word Of Pika.
- To elaborate: This goes both ways so Roommates and Word Of Ashe is Word of Saint Paul for GND. The two authors actively try to build on the other's work, and incorporate as much as they can from the other's canon.
