    • Likewise, Vincent Tong voices two characters- Officer Flamingo and Daddy Gnu.
  • Approval of God: Reed Duncan, a producer on the Netflix show and longtime partner of Anna Dewdney expressed approval of a couple of the rap portrayals of the original Llama Llama book, saying that the series lends itself well to that.
  • Billing Displacement: Jennifer Garner, as the Celebrity Voice Actor of Mama Llama is billed on her own screen in the credits as "Starring the voice of MAMA LLAMA - Jennifer Garner." The only other name in the voice credits likely to be familiar to viewers, at least those who know animation, is Kathleen Barr, whose other notable roles include characters on series such as Dragon Tales, Ed, Edd n Eddy and both My Little Pony (G3) and My Little Pony: Friendship Is Magic.
  • Children Voicing Children: Several of the child characters on the Netflix show are voiced by actual children. The youngest is six years old.

  • Died During Production: The author and illustrator of the books, Anna Dewdney, passed away in 2016 with many ideas for the series still unpublished. However, she left all of her unpublished material with her longtime partner, Reed Duncan, and many titles in the series are still planned to come out or were already released following her death. Though some are material based on the Netflix Animated Adaptation, others are Dewdney originals. Outside of the Netflix series, some of Dewdney's original Llama Llama books (such as "Llama Llama Loves To Read" and "Llama Llama Easter Egg") managed to get published posthumously complete with a different illustrator.
  • Playing Against Type: Kathleen Barr is known for voicing mischievous, snarky, and sometimes antagonistic characters. She provides the voice of Nelly Gnu's mother, and Llama Llama's grandmother, who are both very soft-spoken and kindhearted.
  • Outlived Its Creator: While the Netflix series started production during Anna Dewdney's final stages of brain cancer. The Llama Llama series currently lives on as an animated series on Netflix, merchandise, and occasional stage shows. Some of the original Llama Llama books that were unpublished ("Llama Llama Loves To Read" and "Llama Llama Easter Egg") managed to get released two years after her passing. Future Llama Llama books by Dewdney (such as "Llama Llama ABC") would also get released posthumously using Dewdney's manuscripts and illustrated by JT Morrow.
  • Posthumous Collaboration: As mentioned above, despite Dewdney's passing in late 2016. Previously unpublished Llama Llama books (such as "Llama Llama Loves To Read" and "Llama Llama Easter Egg") managed to get released two years after her passing. Future books such as "Llama Llama ABC" would also get released years later with her name still credited but with JT Morrow as the new illustrator.
  • Posthumous Credit: Some episodes of the Netflix series (notably Season 1) would credit Anna Dewdney for episodes that adapted the original books.
  • Recursive Adaptation: During production of the first season, the Netflix series actually received book adaptations (which was based on the original "Llama Llama" series).
  • The Merch: Plush toys exist for both Llama Llama and his best friend Nelly Gnu. A toy line with new plush toys as well as other merchandise have been announced for the Netflix Animated Adaptation. A Halloween costume is now available.
