  • Dueling Dubs: The Gag Dub produced by ADV Films vs. the true-to-text dub produced by Animax.
  • Keep Circulating the Tapes: The Animax dub is very hard to find since it never received a home release.
  • Missing Episode: There's an episode about Kuchisake-onna that never aired due to how her disfigurement was depicted. Kuchisake-onna has a Glasgow Grin, but her disfigurement looked more like a cleft palate. Because this was viewed as being insensitive to those who suffered from this condition, the episode was shelved.

  • Name's the Same: The name of the school is Amanogawa.
  • Throw It In!: The driving force of the ADV dub. Every single line in the dub was made up by the voice cast on the spot, resulting in a vast ocean of pop culture references, fourth wall breaks, and crude-as-hell jokes.
  • Unintentional Period Piece: The recording of the ADV dub can be pinpointed rather precisely to late-Summer 2005 thanks to its pop culture and political references. For instance, Leo sees Peter Jennings and Supreme Court Chief Justice William Rehnquist in the queue to cross the Sanzu River – Jennings and Rehnquist died in August and September of that year, respectively.
