Trivia / Evil Dead Rise

Go To

  • California Doubling: Set in Los Angeles and filmed in New Zealand.
  • Channel Hop: After previous films had been released by Rosebud Releasing (actually just DeLaurentiis Entertainment Group under a different name), Universal, Metro-Goldwyn-Mayer, and TriStar Pictures/FilmDistrict, the franchise returns to original distributor New Line Cinema (i.e. Warner Bros.) with StudioCanal (the current owners of Evil Dead 2) co-distributing in select international territories.
  • Completely Different Title:
    • Italy: The House: The Awakening Of Evil.
  • Fake American:
    • Australian actors Alyssa Sutherland, Lily Sullivan and Morgan Davies play Americans in this film.
    • Kassie is played by London native Nell Fisher. Her natural accent frequently creeps in, though it's cleverly hidden by the character's odd pronunciation that kids usually go to speech therapy to overcome.
  • Release Date Change: The film was originally announced to release on HBO Max in 2022 and filmed with that timeframe in mind, though a specific date was never announced. It was eventually revealed (see What Could Have Been) that the film would shift to a theatrical release; in order to allow for proper time to market the film, it was delayed to April 2023, which ended up being exactly ten years after the release of the previous Evil Dead film.
  • The Shelf of Movie Languishment: Was released in 2023, but has a copyright notice of 2022.
  • What Could Have Been: Was originally set to be an Max original release alongside the likes of House Party, a Batgirl film, Magic Mike's Last Dance, and a Christmas-themed follow-up to SCOOB! titled SCOOB! Holiday Haunt. However, as part of massive restructuring under Warner Bros. Discovery CEO David Zazlav, Evil Dead Rise, House Party and Magic Mike were shifted to theatrical releases while Batgirl and Holiday Haunt were outright canceled (despite production for both of them being almost finished).
  • Word of God:
    • According to Lee Cronin, the Natorum Demento in this film is one of three copies of the Necronimicon; one copy was behind the original trilogy and Ash vs. Evil Dead, one was found in the Allen cabin, and the one in this film. This was based on the scene in Darkness where Ash has to find the real copy among 3 books.
    • Speaking of Ash, Bruce Campbell's brief vocal cameo as a priest is actually a time-displaced Ash.
    • Beth's full name is Bethany Bixler.
