Literature
- Albert Campion, a blond amateur sleuth of aristocratic parentage, was reportedly conceived as a riff on Lord Peter. In The Case of the Late Pig, someone asks him if his unusual valet saved his life in the War.
- Anno Dracula series: In "Vampire Romance", it's mentioned that in this Alternate History where vampires are known to the public, Harriet Vane is the author of a historical fiction series featuring vampires. (From its description, which perhaps owes more to the Sayers who wrote Christian dramas and translated the Divine Comedy than to Harriet herself, it's an exaggerated version of The Vampire Chronicles.)
- In Agatha Christie's Appointment with Death, Raymond mentions that he thought of murdering his stepmother, using a method he'd read in a detective novel. From his description, it's clear that the novel in question is Unnatural Death.
- The Areas of My Expertise has an article on "Idiosyncrasies of the Great Detectives", including one whose name is a parody of Lord Peter Wimsey.
- Castle Perilous series: In Castle Murders, one of Those Two Guys, Peter Thaxton, solves a magical murder mystery among the castle nobles. In appreciation, Incarnadine grants him a title... which entitles him to be known as Lord Peter.
- Elemental Masters series: Lord Peter Almsley is straight-up Lord Peter Wimsey with magical powers.
- Mary Russell series: Lord Peter Wimsey has a cameo, as a nodding social acquaintance of the protagonist detective duo, in A Letter of Mary.
- The Phryne Fisher series has several mentions of the crash of the Megatherium Trust.
- In "Sorcerer Conjurer Wizard Witch", society hostess Majorie Device mentions Lord Peter Wimsey by name while speculating about who might be trying to murder her. (She seems to approve of him, in as much as she doesn't, unlike most of the other people she name-drops, then proceed to throw in some malicious gossip about him.)
- The mystery in Subtle Blood, a pulpy historical thriller/romance by KJ Charles, is an homage to Clouds of Witness—the more intelligent and likeable younger brother of an aristocratic family must clear the boorish older brother of murder despite what appears to be completely airtight and damning evidence. (Although unlike Peter, who does actually care about his brother, Kim intervenes solely to prevent himself from becoming heir to the title.)
- Vorkosigan Saga: Toward the end of the series, Miles Vorkosigan marries Ekaterin Vorvayne, whose maiden name is a tribute to Harriet Vane.
Live-Action TV
- Carry on Laughing! had three episodes that were spoof detective stories featuring Lord Peter Flimsy and his assistant Punter, with the first being titled "The Nine Old Cobblers".
- Elementary: In "End of Watch", Sherlock quotes Lord Peter's line from Gaudy Night about a facility for quotation covering an absence of original thought.
- Lewis: "Old, Unhappy, Far Off Things" is set at an all-female Oxford college, begins with a college reunion, and features secrets from the past and a hate campaign.
Radio
- The Burkiss Way had a skit in which Lord Peter's assistant is not Mervyn Bunter but instead Billy Bunter.
Video Game
- Killed Until Dead has a character named Lord Peter Flimsey.
