Panda goes on a mission to return a lost phone to the girl of his dreams.

Tropes:

  • Animals Hate Him: In his flashback, the scientist said that he had to fight birds for food, and that they all attacked him, except for Gary the pelican.
  • Animesque: The romance manga Panda is reading, as well as his Imagine Spot when he first sees the girl.
  • Art Shift: Panda's fantasy of meeting the girl is done as panels of the romance manga he had been reading. Later, the scientist's flashback is done the same way, only drawn in a more Western style.
  • Bittersweet Ending: Panda finally finds the girl from the cafe and returns her phone to her, but she has to leave on the train and says she's moving away - but not without introducing herself and telling him that if she loses her phone again, she hopes it's him that finds it.
  • Bookends: The episode opens and closes on close-ups of the manga Panda is reading.
  • Brain Transplant: The scientist hooks Panda to a machine that supposedly does this. We never find out if it works or not, because when Panda says that he's after his true love, the scientist stops the machine and decides to help Panda.
  • Casting Gag: Anime dub VAs Steve Blum and Stephanie Sheh voice the romance manga characters.
  • Continuity Nod: The scientist from "Grizz Helps" returns, and mentions his previous encounter with Grizzly.
  • Crush Filter: Panda sees his "dream girl" Amanda with a fuzzy pink border around the screen.
  • A Day in the Limelight: For Panda.
  • Follow That Car: Panda asks for a boat to catch up to the ferry Amanda is taking. The boat rental guy refuses, so he has to rely on a little girl and her swan paddle boat.
  • Freudian Excuse: It seems the reason the mad scientist is so messed-up is that his crush left to become an astronaut before he could confess his feelings.
  • Race for Your Love: Panda desperately tries to track down Amanda so he can return her phone.
  • Shout-Out: The promo image features Panda dressed as Tuxedo Mask.
  • This Is as Far as I Go: The little girl with the swan boat refuses to continue to Pelican Bay Island because of the madman who supposedly lives there, even though the boat is only a few feet from shore. Panda asks her to move just a little closer, but she refuses.
  • Train-Station Goodbye: The romance manga Panda is reading at the start features a scene with two lovers at a train station. Later, Panda finally catches up with Amanda, but she has to catch a flight at the airport.
