Recap / The Real Ghostbusters S 2 E 21 Banshee Bake A Cherry Pie

Go To

Peter has gotten a new stereo, but when he starts listening to it, he starts levitating and explosions start happening. Ray and Winston enter, having heard the commotion, and Egon and Ray conclude that the singer must be a banshee because she's Irish. They explain that banshees sing, and their songs always cause disaster, but they've never gone commercial before. Peter reveals that the singer, Shanna O'Callahan, will be having a concert that will broadcast throughout America, which would be bad news for Americans if she is a banshee.

The Ghostbusters go to the concert hall, where there has been a bit of disaster (such as a ceiling turning into a bat). They tell Shanna's agent that she's a banshee but he doesn't believe them and shoos them away. They find a musical rehearsal hall next to a blown-up building, so they enter. After a run-in with a riled-up janitor, they ask a punk guy about Shanna.

He directs the Ghostbusters to her, and she sings at Peter, making him almost fall through the ceiling, which proves that she is indeed a banshee. It turns out that Shanna also made Peter fall in love with her, which is revealed when he calls her beautiful and steals a poster of her. Then, he has an imagination sequence about making a music video with her.

The Ghostbusters coax Peter into the concert hall with them, only to find all the men there have also been brainwashed by Shanna. Winston, Ray, and Egon trick Peter by offering him to "meet" Shanna. They have him go into her dressing room, and then break in under the guise of protecting her from something "strange". Once there, Shanna sings and ties up Peter, then morphs into a monster when near a mirror.

The rest of the Ghostbusters untie Peter, who's now no longer in love with Shanna, and go to the concert. When Shanna sings, giant spiders appear, which the Ghostbusters trap. Egon remembers that mirrors make Shanna revert to a monster, so he changes the controls to reflect her voice back, which turns her back into a monster. They trap her, and then the agent (Vincent Brag) offers to make Peter a rockstar.
