This episode provides examples of

  • A Day in the Limelight: This episode focuses on Leo and Mike. Don and Raph only appear in the beginning and the end, where they play video games after an exhaustive training session with Master Splinter.
  • Arms Dealer: Ruffington.
  • Back-to-Back Badasses: In the climax, Leo and Mike stand shell to shell and fight off Touch and Go, preventing them from reaching each other and recharging their power.
  • Bait-and-Switch: After first encountering Nobody, Mikey compares him to a dark avenger on a quest for justice... only to say he means the Turtle Titan.
  • Batman Cold Open: At the start of the episode.
  • Batman Parody: Nobody is essentially the Batman of this universe, complete with a Shout-Out to Batman: The Animated Series at one point.
  • Blame Game: In the end, after the video game stops working, both Don and Raph blame each other for wrecking it.
Raph: Aw, man, you fried it!
    Don: Me? You fried it!
  • Brief Accent Imitation: After defeating Touch and Go, Michelangelo briefly mimics Mr. Go's accent.
Mike: Splendid work, indeed, Mr. Leonardo.
  • Chekhov's Classroom: The episode begins with the Turtles training hard and in the climax, Leo and Mike use the moves they practice to take down Touch and Go.
  • Continuity Nod: Mikey keeps referring to his alter-ego, The Turtle Titan, and even dons the costume momentarily, until Leo makes him take it off.
    • Also, Mr. Touch and Mr. Go refer to their last encounter with Mikey when Hun sends them to aid Ruffington.
  • Full-Name Ultimatum: Leo gets exasperated when Mike decides to dress up as Turtle Titan in the middle of their mission.
Leo: Mikey, take that stuff off!
Mike: He gets to wear his outfit!
    Leo: (annoyed) Michelangelo!
Mike: Aw, all right. Party pooper.
  • Nice Job Breaking It, Hero: Mike shows Nobody how the Triceraton cannons work and in doing so, he activates it and blows a huge hole in the warehouse wall, revealing Ruffington and a group of men on the other side, revealing their presence.
  • Not So Above It All:
    • Leo admits to Mikey that Nobody is cool.
Leo: Okay, maybe, just maybe, this guy is kind of cool.
    • Don and Raph get way too much into Mikey's video game and neglect to get some rest after a long night of training.
  • Revenge: Nobody is out to take down Ruffington's operation as payback for ruining his career and life.
  • Screw the Rules, I Have Connections!: Ruffington used the politicians he bought off to ruin Nobody's career when the latter was getting too close to his weapons running.
  • Shout-Out: When Leo and Mikey first see Nobody, he's standing on a rooftop in the night sky, with his cape flapping in the breeze—echoing the opening of Batman: The Animated Series.
  • Spared by the Adaptation: Ruffington was killed in the comic this episode is based on.
  • Who Are You?: Both when Nobody confronts Ruffington in the helicopter and then leaves him to be arrested by the cops.
    Ruffington: Who are you?
Nobody: Thanks to the politicians in your pocket, I'm nobody.
Ruffington: Then you won't be missed.

Ruffington: Tell me who you are! I have to know!
    Nobody: [beat] Somebody.
  • You Have Failed Me: Saki is really, REALLY pissed at Hun's failure.
