Sender: Chris
Ann Arbor, Michigan
Chris of Ann Arbor, Michigan wants to know if Strong Bad has ever been to the King of Town's place for dinner. Strong Bad reluctantly admits that he did go there once, after losing a bet with Homestar on whether or not the latter could "be's cool". When Homestar dons a pair of sunglasses in the middle of the night, Strong Bad is forced to admit it's cool enough for Homestar to win the bet.
At the King of Town's castle, the accommodations are not to Strong Bad's liking at first: the King of Town's idea of food and drink include a bag of au gratin potatoes from 1983, and something called Butter-Da ("I think that stuff's for automotive use only"). The King of Town does have a stand-up arcade game... but it's a boring educational game called "Typing Tutor Turbo". Strong Bad admits that at least he got to pig out on ice cream, leave an open can of mayo in the castle's ventilation ducts, and drop the Typing Tutor game on the King's head.
(Strong Bad gets up, producing the Geddup Noise. The Paper comes down.)
Tropes:
- Accidental Misnaming: Strong Bad misreads the sender's name as "Chris Ann Arbor".
- Anvil on Head: Strong Bad is seen getting ready to drop the King of Town's Typing Tutor Turbo game on the KoT's head.
- Comically Missing the Point:Homestar: My name's not Homestar, it's Kevin Dubrow.Marzipan: I thought that was if you lost the bet.Homestar: Oh, right. Never mind!
- Incredibly Lame Fun: The KoT's idea of fun is to play an arcade game called Typing Tutor Turbo.King of Town: How many WPMs can you get up to? That's words per minute, you know.
Strong Bad: You're about to get 175 fists per stomach if I'm not eating ice cream inside of one minute! - "Jump Off a Bridge" Rebuttal: Marzipan attempts to ask Hometar if he'd jump off a bridge if Strong Bad said to, but Homestar interrupts her by saying "yes".
- Oh, Crap!: Strong Bad's reaction to Homestar successfully being cool.
- Our Slogan Is Terrible: Butter-Dah (which is meant for automotive use according to Strong Bad) has the slogan "But I still drinks it!" taken from half the King of Town's sentence.
- Paper-Thin Disguise: Strong Bad wears a fake beard hastily made out of tree bark so people won't spot him visiting the King of Town.
- Parody Commercial: A brief commercial for "Butter-Dah" is included as an Easter egg.
- Rattling Off Legal: The disclaimer for Butter-Dah is read so fast as to render the subtitles unintelligible."Butter-Da is noh hush a bush push leopold."
- Shout-Out:
- Strong Bad's opening is akin to what contestants say on the game show Press Your Luck.
- When Strong Bad arrives at the King of Town's castle, he asks him if the coast is clear. The king replies, "The coast is toast."
- Sunglasses at Night: Homestar's idea on how to "be's cool" is to put on some sunglasses in the middle of the night.Homestar: 'Sup?
Strong Bad: (taking this in) Awww, CRAP!
Homestar: Sup?
Marzipan: Homestar, quit saying that.
Homestar: My name's not Homestar, it's Kevin Dubrow.
Marzipan: I thought that was if you lost the bet.
Homestar: Oh, right. Never mind! (beat) Sup?
Marzipan: Homestar, that is not cool.
Homestar: Yes it is. Strong Bad said so.
Marzipan: Well, if Strong Bad told you to jump off a bridge—
Homestar: (interrupting) Yes!
