"This is the rarest pebble in the universe!"
During a heat wave, the waterfall of Roaring Ravine has diminished to a trickle. The now-dry riverbed is full of beautiful pebbles called smoothies and rollies. Wembley finds the rarest pebble in the universe: a perfect blue rollie, the greatest gift one can give to a friend. Wembley gives it to Boober, who becomes reclusive, refusing to share it with anyone. His friends try to get him to come out of his hidey-hole and share, but the attempt fails.

Gobo comes up with a plan to get Boober to share: Wembley will sneak into Boober's hidey-hole, disguised as one of his balls of laundry lint (because he's the only one small enough to pass for one), and bring the rollie to his friends. They will then throw a party, which will make Boober see how much fun it is share.

When Wembley reluctantly sneaks into Boober's hidey-hole, his sneeze—on account of his allergy to laundry lint—wakes up Boober, who is far from happy at having his hole invaded and still refuses to share the rollie. On top of that, Wembley sneezes again, making the rollie roll into a crack in the wall. Boober, trying to retrieve it, orders Wembley out. Wembley sadly leaves—just in time to see Boober's hidey-hole starting to cave in. He runs to get their friends.

Meanwhile, Boober, as the roof is about to collapse on him, realizes how selfish he's been and that friends are more important than things. Wembley gets back with the others, who rescue him in the nick of time. When the rollie unexpectedly rolls out, Boober gives it back to Wembley—who decides to share it with everyone.

This episode contains examples of:

  • Big Damn Hug: After Boober's friends rescue him, Gobo tells him he has Wembley to thank.
Boober: Aww, little guy! [Hugs Wembley.] I'm so lucky to have you as a friend.
  • Collector of the Strange: Among the collections in Boober's hidey-hole are a giant ball of string and several giant balls of laundry lint.
Boober: You see, I just collect it right of your pockets when I'm doing the wash, and it all ends up right in this room here.
  • "Could Have Avoided This!" Plot:
Boober: [gazing at the rollie as his hidey-hole starts to cave in] If I'd shared you with my friends, none of this would have happened.
  • Death by Materialism: Subverted. Boober's attempts to get the rollie out of the crack cause his hidey-hole to cave in, nearly crushing him. Wembley, who had left just in time to see the cave-in start, runs to get their friends, who rescue Boober in the nick of time.
  • Encouraged Regifting: The Fraggles believe in continually passing rollies on rather than just keeping them. They even have a song dedicated to the fun of rollie sharing: "Pass It On."
Red: [singing] When you're giving love away, love will come again to stay!
  • "Everybody Laughs" Ending: At the end of the episode, Boober says he's had it with stuff. When Wembley asks if that means he's not even going to save laundry lint, Boober replies, "Well, let's not get carried away." Everyone laughs, including Boober.
    Mokey: Oh, Boober!
    Gobo: Boober, you're the limit!
  • Get Out!: Boober says this to Wembley while trying to get the rollie out of the crack.
Boober: Haven't you just caused enough trouble for one day? Now, just go, Wembley!
Wembley: But, Boober, I'm only trying to be your friend!
Boober: Friends like you I don't need. Now, just go, Wembley!
  • Gone Horribly Wrong: The Fraggles' plan to get Boober to share the rollie ends up leading to a cave-in.
  • Good Feels Good: The reason why the Fraggles share—and want Boober to share the rollie.
Mokey: When Boober sees how much fun it is to share the blue rollie—why, he won't even want to keep it for himself.

  • I Can Explain: Wembley says this when Boober catches him in his hidey-hole, disguised as a ball of laundry lint.
Wembley: Boober... Boober... I can explain everything, Boober.
Boober: Uh-huh. Well, let me guess. You were going to take back the perfect blue rollie?
  • I Don't Think That's Such a Good Idea: Boober says this when his friends want to see his hidey-hole.
  • I Got a Rock: In this case, it's a good thing. Rollies are thought to be wonderful gifts, and a perfect blue rollie is considered the greatest gift one can give to a friend.
  • Ill-Timed Sneeze: Wembley, disguised as a giant ball of lint, sneezes when he sneaks into Boober's hidey-hole to retrieve the rollie, waking up Boober.
  • Ironic Echo: Boober keeps calling the rollie perfect. Later, as his hidey-hole starts to cave in, the rollie, which he had been trying to get out of the crack, rolls in and hits him in the nose.
    Boober: Oh, perfect!
  • Jerkass Realization: Boober, about to be crushed, realizes how selfish he's been.

  • Karmic Nod: Boober makes one as his hidey-hole starts to cave in.
Boober: Now I'm gonna get what I deserve.
  • Little "No": When the rollie rolls out of Boober's hidey-hole after he's been rescued, Red and Gobo let a small but horror-stricken "Oh, no!", expecting a Here We Go Again! plot. Boober, though, gives the rollie to Wembley, who decides to share it with everyone.
  • Mirror Monologue: Boober has a brief one after seeing his reflection in the rollie.
Boober: Gosh! If I just look way down into those layers of color, I can see a little teensy-weensy reflection of myself. Hi in there, Boober! How's it going, little guy?
  • Nice Guy: Wembley, when he gives Boober the rollie. Later Boober, when he gives it back to Wembley.
  • Plot Allergy: Wembley's allergy to laundry lint causes him to sneeze the rollie into a crack.

Boober: It's a secret place. I've never taken anyone there.
  • Skewed Priorities: Boober valuing the rollie over his friends. When he is about to be crushed by the cave-in, he realizes that friends are more important than things.
Wembley: Boober, aren't your friends more important than...?
Boober: Wembley, this is the rarest pebble in the universe!
    Wembley: Ha!
Boober: Do you understand me? This is more important than anything!

Boober: Do you know, they say that you can search your whole life for the perfect blue rollie and never even find one.
Wembley: And I have one right here!
  • True Companions: Boober's friends, rescuing him from the cave-in.
  • Unwanted Assistance: Uncle Matt tells Gobo, Wembley, Red, and Mokey about the time he was watching a man playing a very odd game that consisted of hitting white rollies (golf balls) into a pond. Matt decides to help by dropping the rest of the golf balls into the water so others can find and enjoy the white rollies. The golfer angrily picks up Matt and throws him into the pond.
