Ritter Germania is the fifth album and fourth one-shot story in the Alternate History comic book series Block 109, published in 2012.

February 1950. Two Nazi officials are murdered in Berlin. The crimes are claimed by someone who pretends to be the famous propaganda hero of the New Teutonic Order: Ritter Germania.

Contains examples of:

  • Becoming the Mask: Stadler goes crazy and commits murders wearing the costume of the character he plays in films.
  • The Captain: Ritter Germania. Not only does "Ritter" mean "knight" in German, it is also the equivalent of "captain" in the Teutonic Order in that universe.
  • Captain Patriotic: Ritter Germania. He is basically a Nazi equivalent of Captain America, with In-Universe tie-in propaganda movies and comic strips.
  • Corrupted Character Copy: Ritter Germania is one of Captain America, doubly so:
    • The propaganda icon is basically the Nazis' version of Captain America, although not adorned with SS symbols.
    • Outside of the realm of propaganda, Stadler, in the Ritter Germania costume, is a vigilante who murders street thugs, rapists and eventually Nazis who committed crimes (including taking part in The Holocaust), which is as far as one can get from Captain America.
  • Double Agent: Martha Sänger helps Stadler heal his wound, and sells him out.
  • Gas Mask Mooks: The Kripo (Kriminalpolizei, "Criminal Police") enforcement troops use tear gas, and wear gas masks because of this.
  • Heel–Face Turn: The actor (and elite soldier) who plays Ritter Germania goes rogue and slaughters Nazi officials.
  • Historical Domain Characters:
  • Interservice Rivalry:
    • The SS and the New Teutonic Order. The decision to choose a soldier from the Teutonic Order instead of one from the SS as the hero of the Master Race did not go well with Heydrich.
    • The Kripo does not tolerate the Gestapo's interference in its investigations.
  • Made of Iron: Stadler tanks a pretty heavy amount of bullets before he's eventually captured.
  • Police Procedural: The Kripo ("Kriminal Polizei", the SS' police service) investigates the murders and we see them in action.
  • Reassigned to Antarctica: Stadler is sent to the hellhole that is the eastern front in winter instead of being executed, and freezes to death.
  • Shell-Shocked Veteran: Stadler's experience of the war impacted his sanity a great deal.
  • Secret Police: The Gestapo, which investigates the murders at the same time as the Kripo since they involve Nazi state figures.
  • Unwitting Pawn: Stadler. He is unknowingly part of Heydrich's scheme.
  • The Vamp: Martha Sänger seduced Stadler on behalf of Heydrich in order to use him for Heydrich's plan.
  • Vigilante Man: Stadler (in his Ritter Germania costume) kills street thugs and rapists, before taking on Nazi officials.
