CLC (short for "CrystaL Clear") is a South Korean Girl Group formed by CUBE Entertainment in 2015. They debuted with the single "Pepe" on March 18, 2015. Originally this group consisted of only five members Suenghee, Yujin, Seungyeon, Sorn, and Yeeun. As of 2016 two more girls were added, Elkie and Eunbin.

Tropes that apply to CLC

     Band and Members Tropes 
  • Affectionate Nickname: Seunghee is known as Little Hani.
    • Mini Hyuna for Yeeun because many people think they have a similar voice and rapping style.
  • Animal Motifs: Ducks for Seunghee, rabbits for Yujin, monkeys for Seungyeon, elephants for Sorn, tigers for Yeeun, deer for Elkie, and unicorns for Eunbin.
  • Badass Adorable: Yujin during the Crystyle era.
  • Big Little Brother: Gender Inverted. Eunbin, the maknae, is the tallest member.
  • Child Popstar: Yeeun was 16 when CLC debuted and Eunbin was the same age when she joined in 2016.
  • Cool Big Sis: Seungyeon serves as this to the members younger than her.
    • Hyuna is this for all of them.
  • Dandere: Seunghee. She comes off as reserved while performing and during interviews, but behind the scenes she's a goofy sweetheart.
  • Early-Bird Cameo: The original 5 members appeared in a G.NA music video as backup dancers while she was still signed with CUBE.
  • Even the Girls Want Her: A large part of CLC's fanbase, referred to as cheshires, are female.
  • Fangirl: Seunghee is a huge fan of the Korean Pop Music boy group NU’EST. She even signed up for their fancafe.
  • Fun with Acronyms: CLC stands for Crysta L Clear... not quite how acronyms work but most fans don't mind.
  • Genki Girl: Elkie.
  • The Leader: Used to be Seunghee but is now Seungyeon. The former was type Level-headed whereas the latter is type Charismatic.
  • Older Than They Look: Yujin is the secondest oldest but doesn't look it. In fact, some fans call her the fake maknae.
  • Singer-Songwriter: Yeeun often writes her own raps and both Seunghee and Yujin have mentioned writing lyrics in passing, though not for CLC songs.
  • Sixth Ranger: Elkie and Eunbin were added in 2016, roughly a year after CLC debuted.
  • Spell My Name with an "S": Member Yujin's name has been romanticized as seen abut also as “Yoojin”, some fans can't decide and neither can CUBE.
  • Surprisingly Good Foreign Language: Sorn is from Thailand and speaks Korean, Chinese and English fluently.
    • Elkie comes from Hong Kong and speaks fluent Korean.

  • Album Single: Each album has one or two.
    • FREE'SM stands out with three- Where Are You?, Summer Kiss, and I Like It. Each one even has a video of some sort to accompany.
  • Boastful Rap: Yeeun in No and ME
  • Call-Back: To Hobgoblin in ME, with shots of breaking sculptures
  • Childish Pillow Fight: Seen in the High Heels music video.
  • Darker and Edgier: Hobgoblin and Black Dress are, sound and video wise, compared to most of the group's previous releases.
  • Hotter and Sexier: Compare the sound and dance of Hobgoblin to their past title tracks like Pepe and High Heels.
  • Non-Appearing Title: Hobgoblin.
  • Performance Video: For Hobgoblin, Summer Kiss, I Like It, and To The Sky.
