Lupin the Third began life as a Manga character, but this was not viewed as a limitation. The first Lupin film was a Live-Action Adaptation produced in 1974. Compared to the many anime films that came later, these works stand out as actors attempt to portray cartoonish physics on limited budgets.
Either accidentally or intentionally, the delightfully campy American Bruce Willis film, Hudson Hawk, has a number of similarities to Lupin III.
