Released in 2014, Labyrinth of Evil is a Revenge of the Sith fanedit by the editor Kirk 'HAL 9000' Shelton. As the Clone Wars reaches its conclusion, Anakin is pushed to the mental breaking point. It is named after the Expanded Universe novel of the same name.

Labyrinth of Evil contains examples of:

  • Adapted Out: Midichlorians are removed from HAL's Star Wars Edit Universe.
  • Ascended Extra: In the original ROTS, Padme is reduced to a supporting rule. Here, she's one of the founders of the Rebellion.
  • Big "NO!": Downplayed, as it is only included as an extra audio track.
  • Blatant Lies: As a result of Padme's survival, Palpatine telling Vader "It seems, in your anger, you killed her." is turned into Palpatine outright lying to Vader.
  • Dead Person Conversation: During the film's ending, Obi-Wan is shown chatting with Qui-Gon's force ghost.
  • Demoted to Extra: Chewbacca is removed from the film to reduce what Kirk called "galaxy shrinking", resulting in the Wookies being extras.
  • Downer Ending: Despite Padme surviving, Palpatine has just taken control of the Galaxy, much of the Jedi are dead and the heroes are forced into exile.
  • Fan Edit: One of the most famous prequel fanedits of all time.
  • Kick the Dog: Palpatine lying to Vader about Padme being dead causes Vader to yell out in anguish.
  • La RĂ©sistance: Padme plants the seeds for what becomes the Rebel Alliance during her pregnancy.
  • Non-Action Guy: The removal of Yoda's fight with Palpatine turns Yoda into a Grand Master who doesn't need a lightsaber to be strong in the Force.
  • Shoo Out the Clowns: A lot of the humor of the theatrical film is removed to make this a more serious film, as are a lot of R2's antics.
  • Skyward Scream: Vader's Big "NO!" is replaced with this in the main audio track.
  • Spared by the Adaptation: Padme herself survives Vader choking her, and is shown holding a newborn Leia on Alderaan.
