The Fairy Queen of Tilea is a crossover fanfic between Fairy Tail and Warhammer Fantasy written by AllenWalker. The first chapter was posted on August 21, 2021. As of February 2024, the story is 43 chapters long. The primary link to this fic can be found here on SpaceBattles.com. The fic can also be read here on Sufficient Velocity.note  An uncensored version of this fic is also available for reading here on Questionable Questing.note

The premise is that during the Alvarez Empire arc, Erza seemingly falls in battle to her mother Irene and is mysteriously transported into the Warhammer world. Landing in the nation of Tilea, Erza finds herself getting dragged into local conflicts as she tries to find a way back to her home dimension.

Also see A new kind of Fairy Queen, another Fairy Tail crossover fic by the same author with a near-identical premise, only with The Dresden Files instead.

This fanfic contains the following tropes:

  • Adaptational Species Change: In Fairy Tail canon, Erza is a human (despite the fact she was born from Irene who was a human-turned-Dragon). Here in this story, she is explicitly a human-dragon hybrid with Deathfang, a loyal companion of Asarnil, outright recognizing her as a Dragon by scent, and she can also absorb a magic attack like a Dragon Slayer would do.
  • Ascended Extra: Tilea in canon is a Hufflepuff House that barely gets mentioned and takes a backseat to great nations like Bretonnia and the Empire. Here, it's the primary setting of the story with the Deuteragonist being a Tilean merchant prince.
  • Attempted Rape: In Chapter 25, Emanuello gets drugged and then nearly raped (and strangled to death) by two Slaaneshi cultists while drinking inside a local tavern after the main cast stop by a village. He is saved at the last moment by Goric, who kills the two cultists before they can inflict any lasting harm to him.
  • Cain and Abel: Emanuello has this relationship with his older, more successful brother Tibaldus. Despite Emanuello himself admitting that he lacks any real political influence and thus posed little threat to his older brother's claim as Tobaro's ruler, Tibaldus cruelly exiled his underachieving younger brother to the Tilean trade caravans anyway. Tibaldus also assigned Emanuello handpicked "bodyguards" (read: spies) who are under orders to assassinate his little brother the moment they suspect he's plotting something against Tibaldus.
  • The Champion: Due to her power, beauty, and benevolent nature, quite a few of the Tilean people mistake Erza for being the "Chosen" of their patron goddess Myrmidia. During the defense of Barak Varr, Erza actually becomes Myrmidia's Chosen for real when she is visited in her dreams by the goddess and bestowed with several divine boons including a new set of armor.
  • Cool Versus Awesome: Erza Scarlet versus Wurrzag da Great Green Prophet in Chapter 40. It's a Wizard Duel between Fairy Tail's strongest female S-class Mage and the most powerful living Orc Shaman in the Warhammer world. It's also a proxy duel between the setting's gods as Erza has become The Champion of Myrmidia, while Wurrzag is the chosen Mad Prophet of Gork & Mork.
  • Content Warnings: Chapter 25 begins with this trigger warning in red lettering followed by an abridged summary of the chapter's contents under a spoiler folder.
TRIGGERWARNING: THIS CHAPTER CONTAINS DESCRIPTIONS OF NEAR SEXUAL ASSAULT AND THE USE OF DATE RAPE DRUGS. IF YOU HAVE MADE BAD EXPERIENCES IN THE PAST OR COULD OTHERWISE BE TRIGGERED BY THIS; THEN DO NOT READ THE CHAPTER. I WILL SUMMARIZE THE CHAPTERS EVENT`S IN A SPOILER INSTEAD
  • Drunk on the Dark Side: During the Barak Varr arc, Erza absorbs an Orc Shaman's spell by "eating" it similar to how Dragon Slayers devour their element. This overdoses her body with Waaagh! energy so much that her mind is warped into an Orc mentality, which causes her to try to (unsuccessfully) become the new Warboss of the Orc Waaagh! she had been fighting up to that point.
  • Fantastic Racism:
    • In Chapter 19, Asarnil mocks Emanuello when he tries to recruit him and his dragon Deathfang, calling the human's offerings to him as trash and fitting for beggars in the eyes of Ulthuan. He changes his mind when Deathfang learned about Erza being a fellow Dragon in Emanuello's entourage.
    • In Chapter 35, the set-up is that Erza absorbed a magical attack casted by an Orc Shaman by "eating" the spell much like how a Dragon Slayer eats their element. This gets her overdosed on Waaagh! energy and makes her start thinking like an Orc. However, when she tries to claim the title of Warboss over the Orc Waaagh! she had just been fighting, they refuse to listen to her because she "aint green enuff".
  • Foregone Conclusion Erza will become the queen of Tilea as both the fic's summary and Spoiler Title indicate.
  • Giant Spider: Arachnarok spiders described as being the size of houses are among the forces of the Orc Waaagh! that lay siege to Barak Varr. At one point in Chapter 39, Erza is so exhausted by the long battle that she actually allows one of these gigantic spiders to swallow her alive so she can take a break inside its stomach before eventually bursting out of its body in the middle of an Orc victory celebration.
  • Magic Eater: As a human-dragon hybrid, Erza is this as she was able to consume a Waaagh! spell similarly like how Acnologia ate the Heavenly Body Magic spell of Jellal.
  • Merchant Prince: Emanuello de Vela, the fic's deuteragonist, is a merchant prince from the Tilean city-state of Tobaro.
  • One-Woman Army: Throughout the fic, Erza is able to almost singlehandedly take out entire hordes of Beastmen, Skaven, and Greenskins numbering in the hundreds to thousands.
  • O.O.C. Is Serious Business: Emanuello certainly didn't expect the normally aloof and haughty Asarnil to actually bow to Erza and join her after the Elf learned she is a Dragon in human form.
  • Ragtag Band of Misfits: The party consists of Erza Scarlett, the Tilean Merchant Prince Emanuello, the dwarf warrior Goric, the Elven mercenary Asarnil, and Asarnil's dragon Deathfang.
  • Spoiler Title: The title spoils the fact that Erza will eventually become the queen of Tilea.
  • Stop Worshipping Me: After officially becoming Myrmidia's mortal champion and saving Barak Varr from an Orc Waaagh!, Erza is deeply disturbed that the Tilean mercenaries have "caught the fanboy bug" and keep prostrating before her while begging for divine blessings.
  • Story-Breaker Team-Up: As a major character from a high-powered shonen manga where Persons of Mass Destruction aren't exactly unheard of, Erza Scarlet is this to the comparatively grounded and low-powered setting of Warhammer Fantasy, especially in a minor background location like Tilea. There is practically no single Warhammer character encountered in Tilea that can hold their own in a fight with Erza outside of the literal gods and maybe Wurrzag.
  • Supernatural Aid: During the Barak Varr arc, Erza is visited in her dreams by the goddess Myrmidia, who makes Erza her chosen champion and bestows onto her a few divine gifts such as a new armor set and constantly refilling Erza's depleted magic reserves. This proves to be a much needed 11th-Hour Superpower for Erza and helps her defeat the massive Orc Waaagh! being led by Wurrzag.
  • Teeth-Clenched Teamwork: Asarnil and Goric can't stand each other due to their races' enmity courtesy of the War of the Beard and yet they're on the same team with Erza.
  • Token Wizard: Erza as the sole magic user of the Ragtag Band of Misfits she forms over the course of the story.
  • Trapped in Another World: The fic's premise has Erza finding herself transported to Tilea from the Warhammer world with no idea how to get back to Earthland.
  • Wouldn't Hurt a Child: Erza. The first time she encounters goblins, she initially refuses to kill them (despite Asarnil and Goric's warnings) because she mistakenly believes they are orc children. It's not until the goblins try to kill her that she finally understands she's not dealing with kids and heeds her party's advice.
  • Wrong Context Magic: Because Earthland and the Warhammer world use completely different magic systems, Erza Scarlet is like no magic-user encountered by the Tilean people and she demonstrates feats usually associated with the most powerful characters in the setting. By Chapter 41, Emanuello has become fed up with accepting Erza is just some "witch" and flat out asks Erza if she's a God in Human Form because he can think of no other explanation for her powers.
Emanuello: Are you Myrmidia? Or Verena? Or some other goddess? Asarnil said you are a dragon, but you never turned into one! Are you maybe some divine avatar? Because, you just blew a [city]-sized hole into the planes before Barak Varr, using more magic than all the magicians, shamans, elementalists, and summoners of Tobaro, Luccini, Remas, Sartosa, Pavona, Trantio, and Miragliano combined. You cannot tell me that that was just some magic trick! Because I am pretty sure I would have heard of mages remodeling the damn landscape and map before!
  • You Are Better Than You Think You Are: After witnessing Erza unleash her full power in a magical Wave-Motion Gun powerful enough to destroy a city during the defense of Barak Varr, followed by the discovery that Erza has indeed become the chosen champion of Myrmidia (the Tilean patron goddess who Emanuello's people worship), Emanuello has an emotional breakdown as he questions why Erza would let someone as unimpressive as him still hang around her. He lists all his accomplishments (or lack thereof) throughout his life and unfavorably compares himself to Erza's other companions like Asarnil, making it clear he views himself as unworthy of standing side-by-side with such powerful figures. He finally asks what he could possibly be bringing to the table that makes it worth for Erza to keep him around rather than discard him like his older brother did. After a few seconds of silence, Erza hugs him before giving her response:
Erza: Because you're my friend, you dummy. What more reason could I possibly need?
