Fan Fic / Morticia Cara Mia

Go To

Morticia, Cara Mia is a Fan Fic of The Addams Family that is sort of an Alternate Universe Fic. Well, the universe is pretty much the same except that Wednesday is two years younger and, and this is the one that drives the plot, it deals with the birth of Pubert differently. It focuses mainly on Morticia's pregnancy with Pubert.

Morticia, Cara Mia contains examples of

  • Affectionate Nickname: "Tish" for Morticia by Gomez.
    • Gomez also calls Wednesday his "little dark angel" and Morticia "Cara Mia" and "Querida"
    • Advertisement:
    • Morticia calls Gomez "Mon Cher" and "Bubela" and Pugsley "Pug"
  • An Aesop: When Gomez thinks Morticia is dead, he wonders if God is trying to teach him that money can't replace everything.
  • Argument of Contradictions: Pugsley and Wednesday arguing on whether or not Pubert looks like their mother or their father.
  • A Boy, a Girl, and a Baby Family: Once Pubert is born.
  • The Butler Did It: Averted. When Morticia falls down the stairs, Gomez thinks Lurch attacked her, but he didn't.
  • Dark Fic: It has some dark moments, including Morticia getting severely injured, and Gomez suspecting Morticia of cheating.
  • Day of the Week Name: Wednesday. Also, Gomez has two second cousins named Tuesday and Monday.
  • Disney Death: When Morticia goes into labour, she ends up tripping and falling downstairs, being knocked unconscious with a cut on her forehead and several broken ribs. Everyone gives her up for dead, but eventually, she survives.

  • Driven to Suicide: Gomez remembers he had a bad relationship with his father and said father ended up killing himself.
  • Eerie Pale-Skinned Brunette: Morticia.
  • Everything Sounds Sexier in French: According to Gomez.
  • Flash Back: In the second chapter, Gomez has a flashback to his childhood. Later, at a party, there's a flashback to the first ball.
  • Happy Rain: Gomez enjoys the rain.
Rain. Glorious rain. A dreary, cloudy, rainy, muggy, perfect day. The best thing to wake up to, other than my gorgeous wife sleeping beside me.
    • Uncle Fester also enjoys the rain.
  • Heroic BSoD: Morticia when Gomez thinks the baby she's expecting is Fester's. Luckily, it resolves pretty quickly.
  • God: Gomez thinks that Morticia's Disney Death was a lesson from God.
  • Go to Your Room!: Gomez to Pugsley after the latter fixes Wednesday's doll.
  • Goth: The Addamses.
  • Long Lost Sibling: Gomez has a long-lost brother Flad who comes back.
  • Love Interests: Gomez and Morticia are a married couple, and are madly in love just like in Canon, however, they do fight more so than in the show.

  • Mama's Baby, Papa's Maybe: In the first chapter, Gomez thinks that Fester was the father of Morticia's unborn baby because he heard her practising her speech to Gomez with Fester.
  • My God, What Have I Done?: There are several of these
    • When Gomez hears Morticia practising telling Gomez about the pregnancy to Uncle Fester, he yells that he wants a divorce because he thinks she's cheating on him with Fester. She then cries, and Gomez feels guilty...thankfully, they make up.
    • After Gomez punishes Pugsley, Pugsley cries, leading to another one of these moments from Gomez.
  • One Drink Will Kill the Baby: Downplayed. Morticia doesn't get alcohol because she's pregnant.
  • OOC Is Serious Business: When Morticia is ill, she starts to sleep late, which is unusual for her.
  • Out of Character: Both Gomez and Morticia seem to be a bit more hot-tempered than in canon. For example, when Pugsley re-attaches the head onto Wednesday's doll, Gomez yells at him and disallows him to play with anyone else or use dynamite, the guillotine, or the rack for a whole week.
    • Another example is when Morticia tries to get Gomez's attention because she's going into labour, and he gets stern with her pretty quick, then she gets stern pretty quick by saying "Why did I marry you?" and calling him names.
  • Sibling Rivalry: Pugsley upsets Wednesday by fixing her doll.
  • Sick Episode: Morticia is ill in the second chapter.
  • Stuff Blowing Up: Pugsley and Wednesday playing with dynamite caps.
  • Trying Not to Cry: When Morticia gets her serious injuries, Pugsley tries not to cry.
