Amanda Barrie, born Shirley Anne Broadbent, (14 September 1935), is a British actress known for playing Alma Halliwell in Coronation Street for 20 years.

She made her screen debut in the 1959 film Operation Bullshine, which was followed by more roles in popular films such as What a Whopper, Doctor in Distress (1963), and Carry On Cabby, which were themselves followed by starring roles in Carry On Cleo and I've Gotta Horse.

When she first appeared in Coronation Street, she only had a minor role before being offered a contract in 1988. Following this, after which her character became much more prominent until she left the show in 2001. Since then, she has continued to act, with a recurring role as Margo Phillips in Doctors and as Bev Tull in Bad Girls (1999) from the fifth series until the series ended.

Barrie came out as bisexual in her autobiography, and she married Hilary Bonner in 2014.
