- Amnesiac Hero: In the anime, he appears to have lost his memories aside from his name. This is averted in the game where he still has them.
- Big Eater: He seems to be this. In Chapter 4 of Part 2, he is initially excited at Nepenthes throwing a victory feast until he actually finds out what's in said feast.
- Later on in Chapter 11 of Part 2, he is happy with the wide variety of food in Kaiten.
- Butt-Monkey: Seems to be this in the game.
- In Part 2, he is excited for the feast that Nepenthes is throwing until he finds out that said feast contains things that only Nepenthes would find remotely edible and later on Rufus calls him useless.
- Chapter 3 of Part 3 has the main cast fleeing from Miru and Lou when they are suddenly attacked by one of Miru's minions. Ray (who is currently in dragon form) then decides that it would be best to fight said minion on land and tosses everyone currently riding on him off. While everyone does eventually get tossed off, special emphasis gets put onto Kihel.
- Canon Immigrant: He was put into the game after he was introduced in the anime.
- Catchphrase: ...Probably?
- Dumb Blonde: He's more ditzy compared to Avi and Navi and he's slower than the rest of the main cast to catch onto things.
- Hair of Gold, Heart of Gold: He has blonde hair and throughout both the TV anime and Part 2 of the game's main story, has proven to be a brave, heroic and friendly young man.
