Ben Hope

Ben Hope (Benjamin)

Charlie's former and first boyfriend.

• Armoured Closet Gay: Downplayed. Ben is a bisexual guy with internalised homophobia who cheated on his girlfriend with Charlie.
• Cheshire Cat Grin: When he smiles, it doesn't augur anything good.
• Domestic Abuse: He's manipulative, neglectful and abusive towards Charlie, even forcing him to kiss him when Charlie wanted to break up.
• Jerkass: He is controlling towards Charlie and never seems to feel any kind of remorse for his behaviour. He even would have sexually assaulted Charlie if Nick hadn't intervened.
• Oh, Crap!: When he tries to touch Charlie at Harry's party, Charlie pins him to a wall and says, "Do not fucking touch me." His expression speaks volumes, and he leaves Charlie alone after that.
• What Happened to the Mouse?: He isn't seen again after Charlie bumps into him at Harry's birthday party. He won't be missed.

Harry Greene

A rich bully from a homophobic family and Nick's former friend.

• Jerkass: He's really nasty and harmful towards Charlie and tried to get Nick away from Charlie.
• Jerk Jock: Harry is an aggressive rugby player, as well as that he is homophobic, cruel, self-entitled and enjoys bullying others to make them feel insecure.
• "Just Joking" Justification: How he tries to justify his nasty, homophobic behaviour. He later switches to blaming Mum and Dad.
• The Napoleon: He's noticeably shorter than the rest of Nick's friend group, and is a rude, arrogant person who thinks he's way more charming and funny than he actually is.
• Oh, Crap!: The look on his face when Nick's about to punch him after he called Charlie a "fag."
• Troll: When he tries to pass off the invasive questions he asked Charlie as harmless jokes, Nick retorts that Harry just wanted to upset him for the sake of it, something he's apparently always doing.

A science teacher and chaperone for the trip to Paris.

• Gleeful and Grumpy Pairing: Grumpy to Mr Ajayi’s Gleeful.
• Perpetual Frowner: Mr Farouk has constant RBF, mainly because he's tired.
• Stern Teacher and Apathetic Teacher mix: At first, he seemed bored with having to accompany and supervise the students, but he proved to be less strict and disinterested in his students than he appeared to be.

An art teacher and chaperone for the trip to Paris.

• Cool Teacher: His laid-back and pleasant personality balances out Mr Farouk's stern attitude.
• Gleeful and Grumpy Pairing: Gleeful to Mr Farouk’s Grumpy.

Miss Singh

She's Nick and Charlie's energetic rugby team coach. Very attentive, she calls out every discriminatory comments she hears.

• Butch Lesbian and Lesbian Jock: She teaches rugby and is married to a woman.
• Happily Married: If her fond smile towards the framed picture she has on her desk is anything to go by.
• Reasonable Authority Figure: Towards the Rugby Team. She gently but firmly tells off Christian, Sai and Omar for talking about Nick and Charlie behind their backs.

• Nice Guy: They're uncomfortable with Harry's bullying and homophobia, apologise for not speaking against it, and are fully supportive of Nick and Charlie's relationship.
• Shipper on Deck: They quickly notice the budding attraction between Nick and Charlie and are supportive, even if they do spend a lot of time speculating Nick's sexuality, and are generally the only ones in Nick's friend group to actually make an effort to be friendly towards Charlie.
