Locked Pages: Lock, UnLock and Edit requests

Go To

This thread is for requesting edits or unlocks to Locked Pages or for requesting locks. It can also be used for technical requests to moderators such as:

  • creating new pages in the Main/ and other restricted namespaces without going through Trope Launch Pad
  • moving discussion pages
  • moving reviews

Please keep the following guidelines in mind:

  1. Check Locked Pages and Permanent Red Link Club first. They can provide guidance on what are good and bad requests.
  2. Include working links in your request to the page(s) in question.
  3. If asking for edits, state your changes exactly as they should appear on the page, including proper Example Indentation, namespacing, and pothole and quote formatting. And make sure that what you want to add is actually a valid example.
  4. We do not edit archived articles, even to correct links.
  5. If you need to have the capitalization of a page title or namespace of a work fixed, ask here.
  6. If you need to remove a ghost wick, go here.
  7. To request a page to be moved along with its history, go here.
  8. Some locked pages have ongoing cleanup threads, like Complete Monster (Thread), Five-Man Band (Thread), and Magnificent Bastard (Thread). Other than purely technical requests, edits to these pages ought to be discussed in these threads first.
  9. Also, we do not do direct edits (other than changing wicks) to Magnificent Bastard or Complete Monster example lists. Rather, you need to do the edit to a sandbox page that follows the format Sandbox.Magnificent Bastard<Name of the example subpage> and Sandbox.Monster<Name of the example subpage> (e.g for Monster.Disney it's Sandbox.Monster Disney) and ask for it to be swapped in on Saturday for Magnificent Bastard and on Monday for Complete Monster.
  10. Inappropriate pages that keep being recreated, pages banned under The Content Policy and subpages that are disallowed (like Headscratchers pages for tropes) are valid reasons for requesting page locks.

NOTE: Edited with OP's permission.

When I tried to fix the page type of Administrivia (which was making it look like a work page), I accidentally broke the indexing there. It's now back working, but the page needs a null edit to index properly.

6248: Not added; her actions set a double standard but how do they qualify as rape, much less sexual assault of any kind?

I remembered the exact lines she says, so let's try again.

In Knights of the Old Republic you can ask about the way Mira dresses and she explains when men peek she can land an uppercut that knocks them flat.

It's easy. If you want a man you jab'em with a bothan stunner, then when he's screaming in pain slap some stun cuffs on him. Then starve him for two or three days until he's open to suggestion, before double checking his bounty to see if he's worth anything. Call it want you want, I love my targets.

  • She gives the same advice to another female character. Both the Handmaiden and the Exile say it's more like hunting than trying to pick up a date.

DTH except for [up]...that's helpful context but I'm still not 100% convinced that it applies, as it seems more like them fake-Honey Trapping their targets than actually doing things to them. When I have more time I'll take a look at the trope page.

That's basically it. The implication is certainly there, but it's more a throwaway gag than anything. Mira knocks back any romance attempt and the Handmaiden doesn't resort to this. If you don't think it fits then it doesn't fit, but she sure sounds like that's where she's heading either way.

Monster.Web Comics needs Scary Gary changed to Scary Gary.

Also, since The Story Of O has been moved to Literature. The Story Of O, the new page ought to be locked (As was decided here a while ago) and Administrivia.Locked Pages updated.

The Complete Monster cleanup forum has approved of a new write-up for Noah Cross. Here it is below...

  • Noah Cross from Chinatown stands out as one of the most despicable villains in all of cinema. A 1930's Corrupt Corporate Executive who doesn't even know his own net worth, outside of the fact that it's a great deal over ten million, all Cross cares about is accumulating as much money and power as possible. In the midst of a drought in Los Angeles, Cross dumps away thousands of gallons of water in order to build up support for his new reservoir project. Drying up the northwest San Fernando Valley by depriving it of water, Cross also poisons the wells and blows up the water tanks of the valley's landowners to coerce them into selling their land dirt cheap. Once the valley is his, Cross plans on using his new proposed reservoir to irrigate the land and increase its worth by millions. However, his plan is hindered by his business partner, and son-in-law, Hollis Mulwray. Previously Cross had convinced Mulwray to build a dam in an area known to geologically unstable. The end result was that the dam burst and 500 people died. Even though Cross knows that the new reservoir would suffer from the exact same geologic instability as the previous one, he still demands Mulwray build it. After Mulwray discovers Cross's crimes and conspiracy, Cross murders him by drowning him in a tide pool. However, the most disgusting crime Cross committed was what he did to his daughter Evelyn. When she was just fifteen-years-old Cross raped her, traumatizing her for life and fathering another daughter with her. Cross's secondary goal in the movie is to take possession of his "grandchild" with the intention of subjecting her to the same abuse he subjected Evelyn to. Despite all of this, Cross says he doesn't blame himself for his actions because he believes, under the right circumstances, men are capable of anything, ignorant of the fact that this is only true for men like him.

May the current entry on Monster.Film be swapped out for this new one?

Edit Request: Trope Pantheons/The Disgraces

It's locked for editing, and yet it isn't on the Edit Locks page. That needs to be fixed, to prevent confusion

Another edit request concerning the Disgraces pantheon

This time, it's an addition to the disgraces. I think that The Prayer Warriors would make good Disgraces, due to their status as huge Gary Stus, and being strawmen mouthpieces for the author. The entry would go something like this:

The Prayer Warriors, Gods of Strawmen and Artistic License: Religion

  • Quasideities
  • Symbol: A conservapedia logo on top of a bible
  • Alignment: Supposedly Lawful Good, but really Chaotic Evil
  • Portfolio: Windmill Crusaders, Strawmen, The War on Straw, Artistic Lisence: Religion, Knights *Templar, Moral Dissonance
  • Domains: War, Christianity (betrayed)
  • Position: Gladiators
  • The Prayer Warriors ended up in the Disgraces after they discovered the existence of the Trope Pantheons. As it disagreed with their narrow worldview, they attempted to take it over. However, their greatest ability is the power to call on God (really their author) to kill villains that they can't. In the Pantheons, the closest thing to it, Dream, isn't really interested. Their ill-fated attempt got them thrown to the Disgraces, where they now fight as gladiators.
  • Chance of Redemption: Nada. They think that they're already redeemed, which means that they never will take any chance to get out of the disgraces.

Hey guys, just a few edits for the Teen Wolf character page again; it was the season finale tonight, so I won't be busting your chops for a few months now. ;-)

Under Scott (in the Main Characters section):

Under Derek and Cora (in the Main Characters/Recurring Werewolves folders, respectively):

  • Walking the Earth: Upon Scott's ascension into an alpha, the Hale siblings leave Beacon Hills for parts unknown.

Under Kali (in The Alphas folder):

Under Ethan and Aiden (also in The Alphas folder):

  • Heel–Face Turn: Ethan turns to try and save Aiden; Aiden then turns shortly thereafter to try and save Lydia. By the end of the episode, they're on the side of good.
  • Love Redeems: Aiden and Ethan's feelings for Lydia and Danny, respectively, ultimately force them both to switch sides.
  • Neck Snap: Jennifer pulls this on them.
  • No One Could Survive That!: Justified to a degree: Jennifer snaps their neck while they're fused together; the two probably would have died if they'd been separated.
  • Redemption Equals Life: They switch sides about five minutes before they and Kali are killed by Jennifer. They survive. Kali does not.

Under Jennifer Blake (in the Villains folder):

  • Dark Action Girl: She holds off Kali and the Twins without batting an eye.
  • Killed Off for Real: She has her neck slashed by Deucalion, but she escapes. However, Peter finishes her off before she can use the Nematon to revive herself for a second time.

I'm gonna write up character pages for Talia Hale and Agent Mc Call soon - I'm in the process of moving to Toronto for good, so free time is not my friend these days. :-p

Thanks as always! -W

Administrivia.Five P has a link to an empty Sandbox. What Is Porn page. It should be either cut or changed to a page that ended up containing the answer to that question.
