Wick Cleaning Projects thread

Ruined Forever is finally complete, except for locked pages (edit request submitted), and the usual archive stuff. The extra mainspace redirect ("Schrodingers Shark") has been sent to the cutlist.

And may I say that after reading through all that bile and hatred, fandom, in general, has very nearly been Ruined FOREVER for me!

Does Reptiles Are Abhorrent (and its redirect Snakes Are Evil) qualify for this thread? It's in a similar boat to Aristocrats Are Evil — with the definition clarified, a lot of misuse and "aversions" have to be taken out. The cleanup has languished for months because I can't make myself do it for very long at a time, and apparently neither can anybody else.

The trope has a new definition and Playing With page. All "aversions" and direct links to specific characters/groups need to die in a fire.

I've revived the cleanup and will try to actually drag myself through it, but I would really appreciate help and will also be out of town 2 weeks out of the next 1.5 months.

What Do You Mean, It's Not Awesome? (now Mundane Made Awesome) cleanup is picking up speed a bit. Under 1300 wicks now, clear up to "H" (save the Italian TVT page).

And I have an old one to add: Kuudere was turned into a fanspeak definition, with the trope moved to Sugar-and-Ice Personality. However, Kuudere still has 652 wicks, most if not all of which should probably point to Sugar-and-Ice Personality instead.

Pettanko has 580 wicks. They need to go on:

• A-Cup Angst if the small breasts are seen as bad
• Petite Pride if they are seen as good
• Down the drain if it's just small breasts
• To Pettanko if they refer to the Fan Speak term

Yeah, a lot of stuff never gets done - no wonder, given that the circumstances are much worse than with namespacery. I am sure that if I went back the morgue, I would find even more stuff.

Another one: Humans Are Bastards, 2045 wicks all fitting wicks must go to Humans Are the Real Monsters while incorrect wicks need to stay until we decide their fate.

It doesn't make much sense to check half (or so) of the wicks twice, especially when there are that many. That one should probably be on hold until we know what to do with all the wicks.

The number of wicks for And The Fandom Rejoiced is increasing. I'm hammering another batch today.

I forgot to say, I did Revive Kills Zombie a couple of days ago.

Two more for the queue:

• Green Lantern Ring, 415 wicks, between:
  • Imagination-Based Superpower: A power based around the user's imagination, such as constructing objects using nothing but your mind. The original Green Lantern Ring is an example of this.
  • Semantic Superpower: A power based around wording rather than anything more logical.
  • Swiss-Army Superpower: A power is applied to multiple unconventional uses.
• Heroic Sociopath, 991 wicks, to:
  • Heroic Comedic Sociopath: A sociopathic character, fighting for a good cause, whose evil deeds are Played for Laughs.
  • Sociopathic Hero: A sociopathic character, fighting for a good cause, whose evil deeds may be Played for Drama.

Fetish Fuel, 2484 wicks, with redirects:

• In-Universe examples go in Fetish
• Fanservice entries go in Mr. Fanservice or Ms. Fanservice
• Wicks referring to the definition page stay
• Audience Reaction wicks need to go away

Made a sandbox page. It's getting too long for a forum post.

Post-Dramatic Stress Disorder -> Post-Victory Collapse complete. Went from about 100 examples to about 85, so there was a decent amount of misuse and/or ZeroContextExamples (moved to discussion pages). Already cleaned off the sandbox page.

And The Fandom Rejoiced is half done — it's down to 774 wicks and I'm not done for the day yet. This one is going remarkably fast. I've kepy less than a dozen links (namespaced to Sugar Wiki/, naturally) so far.

Another entry for the list: Implacable Man and The Juggernaut, 1335 and 621 wicks. Distinction: The Implacable Man is slowed by obstacles, but finds a way to deal with them. The Juggernaut goes right through them as though they never existed in the first place.

Finished off all the 'O' entries for What Do You Mean, It's Not Awesome?, as well as a whole bunch of random pages. We're nearly down to three digits! 1074 to go.
