Found this manga on the Tsundere vs. Yandere thread thanks to Tenzen12. It's your standard "protagonist gets dragged into weird situation", which in this case, magic meets an After the End scenario. Protagonist is a freaking boss, though, and seems to be worth the read just for the protagonist's antics. It's only eleven chapters so far and we don't have a page for it yet.

You are welcome, it realy is worth read, director of school is also cool (he is absolutely sinc with protagonist)

I loved the first episode. Arata's a slick protag, and the ladies^note especially Levi have their charms as well.

The OP is awesome, maybe the best of Fall.

Levi is best girl. And this just might be the best harem anime/manga I've read since Mon Musume. Of course MM will still forever hold the championship belt, but that in no way diminishes the sheer QUALITY of this first episode, which is an impressive feat for a harem anime in this day and age.

Epiode 1. In which there is a black hole sun.

The visuals look good in the OP.

Starting off after that with stupid harem antics. Yay... She's not starting off with a plus, that's for sure.

Tactful, he's not. And she's a bit too modest.

I think the answer was about as straightforward as the question. And going with the clichés.

That reporter is kind of amusing.

Ninja girl does make a good first impression too.

"Eeeek." With all the emotional energy of a yawn. Good response.

Well, an interesting series. I like the characters. Well, Lilith is a bit too harem-stereotypical, but not too bad. Arata is of the aggressively perverted type but replaces the usual extremes with sense and audacity. Levi is great. Principal seems amusing as well.

And thus starts one of the series I anticipated most this season. Trinity Seven is the best thing that happened to harem genre in a long long time.

First a quick note: In this case Maou should have been translated as "Magic King" and not "Demon King". It's Ma from Mahō not Majin.

Anyway lets dig in:

Strong start for the series, the first part was suspenseful, but I like that they didn't try to stretch it to a full episode. It could give people a wrong impression of what the show is like.

Arata is great, the very opposite of the weak willed, timid, and indecisive harem protagonist that we is so detested. He's a man and Isn't shy about his preferences. That's a breeze of fresh air in the genre.

Lilith is... well honestly this series needs Lilith. She works marvelously as a contrast for Arata and makes his jokes so much funnier. It helps that she isn't the bitchy type of tsundere.

There was not much action in this episode since it was mostly introduction, but it should change starting next episode, where we'll also meet rest of the cast.

Considering one of the main themes ( hah wordplay ) the mistranslation is little more appropriate.

The only thing I have against Lilith is that she's a little too modest and easily embarrassed, to the point where it's ridiculous. Considering what they say about her and how she actually acts, there's no real connection. She should have a little more backbone (defensively, not aggressively, if that makes sense), as I think she's a bit too weak to balance Arata well enough.

You cold say the same about Arata prevertness and shamelessness, which are just are exaggerated. Also, Lilith isn't going to oppose Arata tendencies forcefully. She more... grounds him up, preventing him from going too wild. Kind of "oasis of common sense" thing.

There is an abrasive Tsundere in the squad but you'll have to wait to see who's that/

Well, I've seen far worse examples of shamelessness in his direction, but not as much shamefulness in her direction.

Randomly, concerning abrasive tsunderes, I wonder how many listed on our page aren't actually tsunderes as much as just legitimately reacting to another character being an ass.

After the whole nature calling scene I am one strike off of dropping this like offal. Damn it Japan.

Honestly, it's pretty common. Many of the type B's I think.

This HAS to be a VN right? Totally feels like it to me.

Arin reminds me of Origami, both in look and the way Arata can't deal with her.

The sealed room scene was hilarious.

"You want to become heroines who's main appeal is peeing?!"

Arata gets out by tricking his own grimore. He has the irrationality down.

Moe-Lilith is cute. Arata should apply for night lessons.

Speaking of Arata, despite not even trying to hide his perverted intentions, he's really charming about it. Definitely the chivalrous kind of perv.

"Lets get an actual straight man to join us and continue this discussion elsewhere." And they find her. After she throws the Principal into incinerator. Mages are scary.

Arata is dutifully building up his harem from ground up. Current count: Moe-Lilith, Arin.

Well, Arin dropped the ball on this one. There's experiments and then there's this. No way this could work out well.

Dynamic Duo shows up. Will this spell the end for Arata? Will he really die without even doing this and that with Lilith? Tune in next time for more magical adventurs in Trinity Seven: 7-nin no Mahoutsukai!

The locked room scene reminded of Hagure Yūsha no Estetica. Things went better for everyone here though.

So Arata losing control of his magic can cause a breakdown phenomenon that reduces everything around him to elementary particles? And it could even threaten the entire planet?

Episode 2 just felt like it was entering trainwreck mode. Still hasn't got as bad as Mahou Sensou, but I wouldn't put it past it now.

In particular I found the way the main character acted kind of distasteful. It felt more like a tacked on way to tell jokes rather than a personality attribute.

Now that you mention it...Yeah, she does remind me of Origami. Arin and Hijiri also kinda remind me of Suzu in the looks department.

Sorry if I'm a liiiittle unsteady about the concept of Thema. So they choose whatever magic they want to specialize in, and then study its capabilities?

Well, Arin's line of research sure is...wrathful.

Thema is a research theme like Lilith Outer Alchemy. Archive contains multiple theme and is chosen based on personality... or rather the opposite of it.
