I personally think the first one works since it is clear. I am not a fan of keeping the second quote on the page since it talks about one general direction rather than Death In All Directions.
"irhgT nm0w tehre might b ea lotof th1nmgs i dont udarstannd, ubt oim ujst goinjg to keepfollowing this pazth i belieove iN !!!!!1 dIf anything, the descriptions itself should be extended longer.... and I don't think Colony Drop counts for the trope. It's ONLY Death from one direction, I.E. from space >>> into the Earth.
I nuked the second quote.
I think the idea behind Colony Drop being on this index has more to do with the massive damage in all directions resulting from the impact.
If explosions don't count, Colonly Drop won't count.
Fight smart, not fair. Also, I think the name of the trope should be changed from Death In All Directions (implying death expanding outward from one source) to Death From All Directions (implying there's no possible way you can escape alive because you are thoroughly surrounded.)
Yeah...Death From All Directions (this trope, intended) is different from Death In All Directions. Is it worth a split? This isn't exactly a big page.
Death In All Directions is really a good trope though.
One source, damage going everywhere like the image I posted in the image picking thread, some times Beam Spam, Shrapnel Bomb etc.
Death From All Directions is different like someone surrounded etc.

Sparkling and glittering! Jan-Ken-Pon!The trope needs a much better description. Right now, it's simply No Kill like Overkill with a different name.
...if you don’t love you’re dead, and if you do, they’ll kill you for it.Sounds like a split may be in order, then, incidentally, I support such a split or rename/repurposing. It currently seems to be There Is No Kill Like Overkill: The Index.

It's not very big because it's essentially an index.
Fight smart, not fair.So what do we want to do with this? Merge with Overkill but still keep the index part? Rename? Cut? Redefine? Rewrite? YKTTW literal form of the name?
Death In All Directions like my above where you fire in all directions without caring or using super targeting sounds like a good trope to me.

Sparkling and glittering! Jan-Ken-Pon!I personally don't see any purpose for the existence of this trope. It is not defined enough to be an index and too broad to be a unique trope. The list of tropes looks like one troper thought it meant being attacked from all sides, another thought it was just "very damaging things," and yet another thought it was attacking everything around you. Let's break down the page into these three categories:
- Quote 1: Type 1
- Quote 2: unclear, either 2 or 3
- Description: 2
- Atomic Hate: 2
- Attack Drone: 1
- Beam Spam: ? could be taken as any of the three.
- Charged Attack: 2
- and so on. The only one that is definitely type three is Spin Attack.

Well that was like playing a game of Whack-A-Mole where "mole" is defined as "Cthulhu". -Count DorkuBump. Can anyone change the title of the thread to something reflecting the problems with this trope, which reach far beyond the quotes?
Well that was like playing a game of Whack-A-Mole where "mole" is defined as "Cthulhu". -Count DorkuOk, so from the current page quotes and trope description, it sound to me like this trope is supposed to be; you're surrounded by automated weapons or whatever, but your current location is safe, moving in any direction at all will get you killed however. I think it is supposed to apply to armed soldiers and environmental hazards as well, but the quotes don't sound like the reference that. That definately seems tropable, unless its already covered, but if not it needs a new name that isn't so vague.
Isn't this trope supposed to be about using the death blossom technique of ambush defense? You know, when some Navy SEALs are being all stealthy in MARPAT camo with NODS mounted and pointing guns everywhere while walking through a busy market on the way to the target, and some haji decides to throw a rock or something, so the SEALs wisely open up with bullets in all directions.
'Cause right now the description doesn't really say that, and the quotes seem to think it's about being surrounded. If people agree I can try my hand at making this a real trope about death blossoms.

"Did anybody invent this stuff on purpose?" - Phillip Marlowe on tequila, Finger Man by Raymond Chandler.Bump.
"Did anybody invent this stuff on purpose?" - Phillip Marlowe on tequila, Finger Man by Raymond Chandler. This trope is supposed to be about people or ships or whatever all firing at something in the center, but I've only ever seen it used as the inversion—the "Death Blossom." Redefining it to match usage seems like a good idea.
Actually, at 70 wicks, maybe we should just cut it and relaunch both types under different names.

Unclear/Little Context (4)
Unless I made a significant mistake in this wick check *, it looks like Death In All Directions is being used in a variety of ways. There seems to be some overlap between the first and fourth categories, but from what I can tell, only the fourth type of use is really a unique trope.
It might also be worth noting that there in a good number of the wicks, Death In All Directions was treated as supertrope to stuff like Beam Spam.
Anyway, given the confusion over what this trope is and should be, there is now a page action crowner for it here, feel free to add options as you see fit.

"irhgT nm0w tehre might b ea lotof th1nmgs i dont udarstannd, ubt oim ujst goinjg to keepfollowing this pazth i belieove iN !!!!!1 dWell the Gundam examples there describe the traditional Funnels attack style which is usually 6-12 small funnels break and attack from various directions. IMO that is a great example of the trope as written. (Death From All Directions)
A lot of section one is that actually.

Sparkling and glittering! Jan-Ken-Pon!Bump. (Still has crowner.)
I think it might be enough to call.
I'm on the internet. My arguments are invalid.Calling crowner in favor of renaming and YKTT Wing the new trope.
Waiting on a TRS slot? Finishing off one of these cleaning efforts will usually open one up.Bumpity. Still needs work done.
"For a successful technology, reality must take precedence over public relations, for Nature cannot be fooled." - Richard FeynmanBTW, the description is little better than a stub, so that needs work.
As for a name, how about Barrage The Target?
I'm on the internet. My arguments are invalid.
Crown Description:
What would be the best way to fix the page?
The page has three quotes, which is too many, so, as stated in the title, which one(s0 do you guys think we should keep?
