Those are pretty good suggestions! I'll have to decide which one I wanna use.
I know I've proposed fics with a similar basic set-up before, but here's an awesome idea.
A retelling of Fallout New Vegas with Revy from Black Lagoon as The Courier. For a bit of an ironic kick, she'd be Legion-aligned (Although, an Independent Vegas route could work as well).
Alternately, a retelling of Fallout 3 with Shinji Ikari from Evangelion as the Lone Wanderer.

BTW, I need to ask if anyone knows of Persona 3 fanfiction where The male and female protagonists became the seals to keep out Nyx?

"Exit muna si Polgas. Ang kailangan dito ay si Dobermaxx!"The general plot/storyline of Persona 4, but with all the canon cast replaced by characters from other media (possibly barring Teddie, due to the specifics of his character), and in somewhere other than Inaba, to see how said characters might develop in such a setting.
Granted, I'd have to do an assload of research on Tarot Motifs to really get it to work, and I'd have to make a point of using characters that all have some kind of issues/neuroses that need worked out through Social Links (not so much of an issue for background characters like the teaching staff, though).
Anyone have any suggestions? I'm not afraid to switch around characters' roles in terms of Arcana (example: the first three non-MC members of the canon Investigation Team have the Magician, Chariot, and Preistess Arcana respectively; in the fic, those three roles might be filled by characters with Arcana such as Temperance, Tower, Star, what-have-you).
The Protagonist is a lesser concern right now, but I need characters who might fulfill Magician, Priestess, Empress, Emperor, Heirophant, Lovers, Chariot, Justice, Hermit, Fortune, Strength, Hanged Man, Death, Temperance, Devil, Tower, Star, Moon, and Sun Social Links.
A mixture of characters from media from live-action to animated stuff.
I guess they'll have to be teenagers and all...
"Exit muna si Polgas. Ang kailangan dito ay si Dobermaxx!"Actaully, I was just planning on using anime and game characters. And yeah, the bulk would be teenagers, but some of the Social Links can be younger or older (especially Heirophant, which ought to be an older guy).
For instance, one might hypothetically go with Ayaka Yukihiro as The Empress.
Alternately, Shinn Asuka might be a viable candidate for Strength (though in his canon he's really more like the Reversed Strength). Or, Kira Yamato (same show) might be viable for Hermit, as might Cloud. Of course, with these guys, it kind of becomes a question of how I might reinvent them to fit with a contemporary Urban Fantasy setting....
Shinji Ikari is almost too perfect for the Hanged Man.... Alternately, I could use Asuka for The Tower....
Loran Cehack as the Moon would be novel, but as a character he doesn't seem to fit the arcana, being more akin to The Star.

Given the grim nature of Puella Magi Madoka Magica, the fandom emphasis seems to be on taking the setting and making it lighter and softer. More traditional. On the other hand, given the sparse but well-thought-out world-building that went into it, I'd like to dive into it and explore the world. Focus on the meguca, who are essentially urban soldiers without the benefit of a supply chain or support from home, especially the long-term, veteran survivors. How would they cope and survive? When they learn the truths of the series, how would they adapt? And, in the long term, how would they leave their mark on the world around them?
Magical girls as, essentially, fighter pilotsnote in a long and deadly attritional struggle, fighting their war however they can, with an emphasis on characterization and the logistics and tactics underpinning combat. Can't guarantee that I'm not working on such a story at the moment...
Charlie Stross's cheerful, optimistic predictions for 2017, part one of three.Ah crud. I'll continue my conclusion for the part 5 part of the Persona 4/Assassin's Creed story I'm working on tomorrow.

"Exit muna si Polgas. Ang kailangan dito ay si Dobermaxx!"A Chip 'n Dale: Rescue Rangers historical movie in the vein of Das Boot, staring Monterey Jack and Kapitänleutnant Jürgen Jürgen. Based on the recollections of said characters.

Und wenn du lange in einen Abgrund blickst, blickt der Abgrund auch in dich hinein.Ooooookay, my what-if Game Of Thrones fic about Cat keeping her oath to love Jon is turning into a complete AU. Or at least an entirely different kind of what-if scenario, where "what if Sansa had a handmaiden besides Shae, and hence wasn't totally alone and vulnerable in King's Landing?"
Because Septa Mordane was more a tutor and chaperone than a servant, and there's a 75% chance that any of Sansa's Northern servants would have been killed in the Stark purge.
Damn my desire to give Sansa a hug and keep her away from the pervs.

so i have this idea, right: a Harry Potter fanfic where Voldemort had periodically updated the diary, giving it a massive advantage when it's used in the Second Year and turning Ginny into a zealot rather then a weakly mind-controlled slave.
Harry returns to the Common Room and tells Hermione & Ron the next morning, though he explains about his hallucinations and questions whether he really saw it happen. Ginny is studying quietly in the corner while this is going on, smiling and chattering with Demelza Robins (or some other girl). The group tentatively decides not to bring this to Dumbledore, with Ron refusing to believe anything of the sort about his little sister.
From that point onwards, things get worse. Minister Fudge & Lord Malfoy start a public outcry against Dumbledore and Hogwart's falling safety standards, leading to the naming of John Dawlish as Inquisitor of Hogwarts, and Dolores Umbridge as High Inquisitor of the Great Britain. John Dawlish takes of the position of teacher of DADA, while Gilderoy Lockhart claims the position of Charms Teacher. Dumbledore tenatively accepts this arrangement, making queries into Remus Lupin's employment and offering him the Charms Teacher position and Head of Ravenclaw. Harry pushes against Dawlish's teachings - while Harry is all about shielding and deflecting, Dawlish seems to believe that the best defense is to destroy problems before they exist, leading to Harry gaining friendly terms with some Slytherins (Dawlish isn't exactly subtle about them being 'potential problems') and finally the launch of school-wide Dueling Competitions ala the Quidditch Games. The petrifications begin to slow, and Mandrake is soon to be prepared. Harry has dismissed Ginny as a culprit, and the Gang is convinced that the Chamber of Secrets is the threat here. Nobody has informed Dumbledore of this - the shock of Flitwick's death having stopped most of them, with several of the higher-up Ravenclaws in the know thinking Flitwick had told Dumbledore before his death.
Out of the blue, the second and third murders come. Pomona is found dead by the dark curse Sectumsempra, and all the Greenhouses burn bright with Fiendfyre. Ginny Weasley & Draco Malfoy are missing, and the petrified ghost of Myrtle lays just outside the Headmaster's Office. A storm is brewing, with tensions rising across Hogwarts between those who think Draco is to blame, those who think Draco isn't stupid enough to attempt something like this, and those who think there isn't evidence for any of that. Harry & Co. come to the realization that Ginny is to blame. A few hours after the calm has finally settled, it's discovered that Gilderoy Lockhart is also missing - a new story begins to spin, claiming that Gilderoy has kidnapped them both and is ripping memories out of their minds like he has done to so many others. Hogwarts is declared to be in a state of emergency, with Albus taking temporary leave from all his other positions to focus entirely on Hogwarts.
After a few days, Fred & George approach Harry with the Marauder's Map. They tell him they see three blips flickering on and off in a bathroom on the third floor - Gilderoy Lockhart, Ginerva Weasley, and Draco Malfoy. They ask him if he wants to come with to investigate, pulling up last year's tasks and stating he's the one with the most experience in that kind of thing - mentioning that they'll go get a professor and go either way. Harry, fearing that Ginny might not be innocent, dissuades them from getting a professor's help, and the three venture off to the spot where the three blips are seen. Moaning Myrtle's bathroom. When they arrive, a hole sits in the ground - they check the map once more, and to their suprise only two blips remain.
Tom Riddle Jr. & Ginerva Weasley. Fearing what is going on - and thinking that Ginny might too dissapear - the Twins & Harry enter the Chamber of Secrets. Waiting for them resides a young Draco Malfoy sitting by the dead body of Gilderoy Lockhart, smiling in an all too knowing manner and drawing an insignia onto a near-naked, blood-splattered Ginny Weasley's left arm with Lockhart's wand. All the boy does in acknowledgement is nod at the three, letting them approach.
Stumbling for words, Harry tries to approach and ask what the hell is going on, but Fred charges forth before he can act, yelling for Draco to leave his sister alone. The boy pulls the wand from Ginny's arm and points it at Fred, and without word or motion a orange-brown curse rips forward, hitting Fred and lifting him inches into the air.
Harry casts a few quick spells and draws Riddle's attention away, but they are hopelessly outmatched. The three vainly struggle to hold their own, managing to do so until Ginny redresses and begins to throw her own curses at the trio. The three are pushed back a bit, with Riddle making more and more cocky and confident boasts. All the while, his body becomes more and more attuned to his soul, losing the Malfoy facial features for Riddle's old ones. IT seems as if all is going to be over for the trio.
Fawkes arrives, and with him comes Dumbledore hosting the Elder Wand and wearing the Sorting Hat. Within minutes, he destroys the reincarnated Riddle and knocks out Ginny Weasley. He scolds the three with a few words, grasping them and bringing them back into the office. The boys had been down in the Chamber for four hours.
Dumbledore calls a staff meeting and explains what has happened so far. Dawlish leaves immediately after, going to the Ministry and informing Fudge.
Fudge sends word to Malfoy, informing him of his son's apparent death. Word is also sent to the Daily Prophet, and Ginny Weasley is made into the sacrifical lamb to save the public image. Within days, Magical Britain is calling for her to be thrown in Azkaban, the Weasley family has been kicked out of the Ministry, with Bill & Charlie having to send home large parts of their salaries to support the Burrow.
Malfoy rallies the Old Families against Dumbledore, raising a cry off his son's death. With his fears of the Horcrux' all but confirmed, Dumbledore reforms the Order of the Phoenix. Tension is rising. The trial of Ginerva Weasley is scheduled.
The proceedings are but a mock trial, and it is clear everyone knows Ginny to be guilty. Harry watches on in a shell-shocked state, as Ginny confesses gleefully to all crimes accused, making it clear she was happy to be guilty. As she was removed from her chair and the aurors began to pull her away, she let out a chilling shout.
"The Dark Lord will return, and he will reward my loyalty - and he will punish your betrayal. It is not yet too late - come, Rookwood, Nott, Crabb—" (Something to like that, I'll word it better if I ever write this) Her voice was cut off by silencing charms. A chilled Fudge yells for the aurors to throw her in the darkest cell of Azkaban with Bellatrix Black, a cell where she'll never see the light of day again.
Umbridge, High Inquisitor of Magical Britain, makes moves to sieze the Burrow, calling for the arrest of all Weasley's for questioning, but Dumbledore manages to prevent her efforts. Harry returns to Privet Drive.
On September 1st of the next year, Harry receives an Emergency Issue of the Daily Prophet. "BREAKOUT IN AZKABAN: BELLATRIX BLACK, SIRIUS BLACK, GINERVA WEASLEY & THE LESTRANGE TWINS ON THE LOOSE".
edit: and holy shit that was longer then i thought it'd be. put it in quoteblock.

Well, now I've began to think of a Crack Fic shipping Napoleon and Marie-Antoinette, with the former becoming the French version of Don Quixote. And for some reason, I feel like involving an AU version Oscar into the mix, but with a Mandatory Plot Twist being that her full name is Oscar François de Javert.
I think I'm going crazy now.
This is not so much a "Only I think this idea is good" so much as "I think this idea can be easily butchered". This is based on what the current writers of the Pokemon Anime seem to be going for:
Serena of Kalos and the Clueless Chick-Magnet.
By my count, I can confirm at least eight "evil" exs, (for the relative degree of "ex" here,) three of them Pokemon. And it wouldn't take much to increase that to probably a dozen humans (more or less) and four Pokemon. And, yes, it can be styled as a Magical Girl Warrior fic.
The Final Boss sequence should be emblematic of first Ash's stated purpose, then his destiny, and finally his "situation". Ho-oh should be among them, probably at number two, though you could make an argument for #3. Incidentally, the interference of these powers (or a majority thereof) could explain the hostility of the rivals.
Of course, the author would have to decide how to treat not just the rest of Ash's and Serena's teams, but also other non-rival characters. Therein lies the rub.

Ketchum's corollary to Clarke's Third Law: Any sufficiently advanced tactic is indistinguishable from blind luck.I'd read that fic.
Here ya go. Part 5. I don't know if I messed this up, but I just wanted the idea to get out of there before it's too late...
Yu dashed around Saki's Shadow, dodging attacks meant to squish the Assassin alive. He had previously struck the Shadow by using slashes and stabs since it was weak with physical attacks. Yu had planned to weaken it before he could deliver the final blow.
I got this part.
The assassin moved in and went to stab the Shadow's chest with the Hidden Blade. Izanagi did the same, using a huge version of the Hidden Blade to strike at it.
"NO!!!!"
The Shadow felt weak and succumbed to its injuries, changing back to the same physical features of Saki.
"Sensei..." Teddie said, carrying the actual Saki unconscious in his arms.
"I just... just wanted to help my family." The Shadow Saki mumbled when she stared at the unconscious Saki in Teddie's arms. "But to work at Junes of all places."
Yu was silent when he heard about the shadow's ramblings.
It seems the shadow represents the dark side of someone who doesn't want their true feelings to be revealed.
After the shadow finished, it disappears in black smoke.
"We need to get out of here." Teddie advised Yu. "I know that you defeated the shadow, but I sense others may be coming."
"All right Teddie. Lead the way."
Teddie, still holding up an unconscious Saki in his arms, led Yu to an area that had a floor painted with a panel that depicted a bullseye with outlines of corpses on it.
"What is this place?" Yu asked Teddie, looking around.
"This is the way out." Teddie explained to the teenager. "It also serves as the gateway between your world and my world."
"Okayy..." Yu was a bit worried about the creature's statement. "I don't suppose that there is a door or something that I can use, right?"
"Let me do it." Teddie nodded. A few minutes later, there was a hill of old analog TV sets stacked in a pile.
Yu raised an eyebrow after he saw the stack.
"It's the only way out." Teddie told Yu after he handed Saki's unconscious form to him.
"I don't think we can fit." Yu said, being very careful to carry her in his arms.
Yu moved closer to the analog TV stack to get a closer look, wondering how he can get out.
"Let me help you." Teddie said instantly as he pushed Yu gently from the back. A few seconds later, Yu noted that ripples started to appear his arms touched one of the analog TV screens.
The next thing he knew, he was flying down a portal. Hopefully, Yu can get back safely with Saki.
Yu appeared somewhere else. When he stepped out of the portal, the teenager noted that he was in an electronics junkyard somewhere in Yasoinaba.
Laying Saki down on the ground, Yu reached for his mobile phone and went to call an unregistered number. However, his mobile phone was picking up a call from the said number.
"Hello?" Yu answered the call in English.
"Agent Narukami. What happened to you?" The caller asked, finally relieved to hear his voice.
"It's a long story. I can explain..." Yu began to explain himself before he was cut off again.
"Don't worry. There's a team that's coming to your location. Do have Ms. Konishi with you?"
"Yes, I do." Yu checked Saki's pulse, feeling a weak one by her right wrist. He told the caller. "Very weak, but she's okay."
Yu later met up with four Center agents who were in a white Toyota Land Cruiser SUV. They also rolled up their sleeves to show their Hidden Blades braces, proving that they're also Assassins.
"We'll take care of her." One of the agents, who was Japanese by origin, had the other agents place her in another Land Cruiser that had just arrived. "Meanwhile, the Mentor has ordered you to continue with your Center mission. But we're advising you to be careful."
"Templars?"
The agent nodded. "We've learned that some of their teams originated from a shell company based in Okina City. We're double checking the name since we've got a conflict of intelligence our agents in Center intelligence had acquired a few weeks ago."
"Understood." Yu nodded and replied.
"Meanwhile, continue your life as a normal teenager. We'll take care of her and make sure she gets medical attention."
"When do I file a report?"
The agent was silent before he answered, "MOM said to do it when you're ready."
The agents got into the Land Cruisers and drove off from the junkyard. Yu brought up his hood again, which had fallen down from his head. Since he walked outside and saw that he was a bit near the residential area of Yasoinaba, he jogged off away from the junkyard.
He began to contemplate on what kind of report he should write up on while jogging towards the direction of Aiya's.
Whew! Got that out of the way at last.

"Exit muna si Polgas. Ang kailangan dito ay si Dobermaxx!"I've had a couple of ideas for Transformers fics, and I'd like some feedback, if you don't mind.
1. Skywarp has always been considered nothing more than a Dumb Muscle teleporter who loves playing practical jokes. But all that changes one day when an important-looking mech appears with surprising news - seems that not only is Warp smarter than he looks, he's the long-lost Crown Prince of the city of Vos, and the Vosians want him back as the ruler. He's not happy about this - not only have the other Cons started treating him differently, he hates all the responsibilities of being prince, and just wants to be a normal mech.
2. Megatron and Starscream have a little son, who one day wanders off and gets lost. Luckily, he's found by a girl Spike's age and her junkyard-owning uncle, and they basically take care of him the best they can until circumstances force them to reveal his existence to the Autobots (the girl and her uncle realize he's a Decepticon when they find him, but they're afraid that if they tell anyone they have a Con sparkling with them, the Cons will attack them).
So, whadda we think? Oh, by the way, in the first idea, Skyarp is the oldest member of the Command Trine, while Thundercracker is the youngest . It's not important to the plot, but I wanted to do something different to the fics where Starscream/Thundercracker is the oldest and Skywarp/Starscream is the youngest. And I know the second plot is similar to all those "girl discovers the Transformers" fanfics, but in THIS one, she's NOT gonna fall in love with a Bot or Com (considering she discovers the existance of the Transformers when she finds a SPARKLING, that would be all kinds of Squick).

Personally, I find the idea of Megatron and Starscream having a son together to be rather Squick... but to each their own tastes, I guess.
A fanfic in which the cast of Blazblue pliot giantmecha.
I've got an idea.
A retelling of Vampire The Masquerade Bloodlines with The Protagonist replaced with a character from an anime or video game. Each clan would get a character to represent them. Here are the options.
- Brujah: Revy (Black Lagoon)
- Gangrel: Kiba Inuzuka (Naruto)
- Malkavian: L (Death Note)
- Nosferatu: Shino Aburame (Naruto)
- Toreador: Ken Ichijouji (Digimon Adventure 02)
- Tremere: Ami Mizuno (Sailor Moon)
- Ventrue: Seto Kaiba (Yu Gi Oh)
All other characters in VTM: Bloodlines are the same as they were.
I've got ideas for a Professor Layton and Kirby crossover fanfic - one in which Dark Matter has started to infiltrate Layton's London (either covertly or not so), and Layton and co. get transported to Dream Land in order to save both worlds. ...Yes, it sounds ridiculous, there's a lot more that I have in mind, and there are some details I need to change and/or work out. But I think it'd be cool to throw the rational Layton into what is essentially a fantastical world, or contrast the sensible personalities of Layton's world with the perhaps more 'off the wall' personalities of Kirby's world. I've got a few Layton-ish plot twists in mind, but I'll have to see if this can be fleshed out into a proper idea.

This is more out of curiosity than anything else, but I've always kind of wondered what the Star Trek movie franchise would look like today if Paramount had gone ahead and retired the Next Generation crew, but allowed the series to keep going forward with a new cast of characters. I'd like to do a fanfic series exploring the direction that the movies might have taken if Nemesis hadn't bombed quite so hard and necessitated a complete Continuity Reboot with a Kirk's crew.
I'm not sure if I'd go all-out and create my own new starship crew, but I'd at least like to take a stab at creating a lone protagonist—someone not quite like Kirk, Picard, Sisko, Janeway or Archer—who could conceivably carry his/her own story.
(I know that's vague as hell, but it's really all I've got in mind)
You mean an actual lone operative? Not merely a new Captain with Lower Deck Personnel of DS9 and Voyager at the Bridge Stations?

Ketchum's corollary to Clarke's Third Law: Any sufficiently advanced tactic is indistinguishable from blind luck.Yes, exactly.
Orion CK 2: I LOVE that idea! If you write it, I'll read it.
By the way, I've had an idea I'd like some feedback on.
Basically, it's a Transformers story based on Atlantis The Lost Empire, but different enough so that it doesn't count as a fanmake. Anyway, Skyfire plays the role of Milo, and Slipstream plays the role of Princess Kida. And I figure that Vos replaces Atlantis, and instead of sinking beneath the waves, it somehow broke away from Cybertron and drifted off into space.
So, what do we think? Any ideas how I can make it different from the original movie? And in case you're wondering why it's a Skyfire X Slipstream pairing, I'm not a fan of Starscream X Skyfire, and Slipstream as the princess of Vos makes a change from Starscream as prince, doncha think? Also, I'm thinking of adding a few scenes from Pocahontas.

Maybe the brain-dead mouse isn't found by the lab, but is one of the lab's extra mice. The lab crew were testing experimental medications for a degenerative brain disease and that required infecting a mouse, only what the tested on her didn't work / or she was the control. Or maybe she was being used to test something else and had an unfortunate accident of some kind. Maybe she outdid Pinky and chomped down too hard on a wire connected to a bit of cheese when running a maze and electrocuted herself into a vegetative state.
Why she would be on life-support, who knows? Did Pinky cry upon finding her and The Brain was trying to reverse the damage? Maybe she just keeled over in her cage and the scientists haven't found and disposed of her yet?
Just tossing stuff against a wall to see what sticks.
In which I attempt to be a writer.
