    Pagani Huayra
https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/pagani_huayra.jpg

"The wind of change is blowing through the supercar world, and its name is Huayra. Pagani’s new supercar takes its appellation from the ancient Argentinean god of wind and, like the Zonda before it (also named after a wind), it’s poised to set new benchmarks for the world’s fastest and most exclusive road cars."

The successor of the Pagani Zonda, introduced at the 2011 Geneva Motor Show.

The name "huayra" is named after the Incan wind deity Huayra-tata. By factory default, it's fitted with Pirelli tyres, and with its twin-turbo AMG V12 engine, it's capable of hitting 0-60 mph in 2.8 seconds and reaching speeds of 383 km/h (238 mph). The Huayra is also fitted with active aerodynamics, with four flaps placed in both the rear and the front of the car. That is intended to achieve the minimal drag coefficient or maximum downforce possible.

In 2016, a track-focused variant of the Huayra was unveiled as the Huayra BC. The initials were named after the founder's late friend, Benny Caiola. 20 units of the Huayra BC were produced and sold out immediately.

The Huayra would lead to becoming the "2012 Hypercar of the Year" by Top Gear magazine.

    Pagani Zonda and variants
https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/pagani_zonda.jpg

"That's smoke, yes yes, see? It's a proper supercar! It didn't just come to the track and do a lap like a robot and be boring, it came to the track and exploded, immediately! That's what, it's what supercars do! It's proper!"
Richard Hammond on a Pagani Zonda, Top Gear

The Pagani Zonda is the first-ever sports car produced by Horacio Pagani for his namesake hypercar manufacturer, introduced in 1999. It was originally to be named the "Fangio F1", after Formula One champion Juan Manuel Fangio. But when Fangio passed away in 1995, it was renamed the Zonda, named after the term for a hot air current above Pagani's native Argentina.

The Zonda uses an RMR layout, with a 6.0 - 7.3 L naturally-aspirated Mercedes-Benz V12 engine, initially producing 395 horsepower at first (C12) but late models produce nearly twice the power. Production of the Zonda throughout its time is extremely limited, with a total of 140 units produced, usually priced at £320,000 but later in millions. Despite that it was succeeded by the Huayra in 2011, the Zonda still continues production, albeit in special edition one-offs until 2019.

A track-day only Zonda R was introduced in 2009, intended to compete with the Ferrari FXX and the Maserati MC12 Corsa. An updated and final revision called the Zonda Revolución was unveiled in 2013, which featured a Drag Reduction System (DRS) on the rear wing.

Speaking of Formula One, Lewis Hamilton once owned an ultra-rare purple Zonda 760 LH in 2015, where he drove it around Monaco, but accidentally damaged it during his drive in Wales.

    Plymouth Barracuda
https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/plymouth_barracuda.jpg

Nash Bridges: Not the 'Cuda! The 'Cuda's gone?
Joe Dominguez: No, the 'Cuda's fine.

Plymouth's take on their own pony car, as an answer to the Ford Mustang.

The Plymouth Barracuda is a pony car manufactured by Chrysler from 1964 to 1974. Chrysler wanted a sporty compact fastback that would be more ideal than the Chrysler Valiant due to the limited budget for the research and development of the Chrysler Turbine Car. Thus, Plymouth wanted to originally name it the Panda, but the idea was unpopular with designers. Aero-engineer John Samsen suggested the name Barracuda, which prevailed to be the name.

The first-gen Barracuda was based on the Chrysler A-body, a two-door hardtop fastback offered from 1964 to 1966. The second-gen, though still Valiant-based was heavily redesigned, produced from 1967 to 1969, available in fastback, notchback or convertible.

Perhaps the most notable is the third-generation Barracuda in 1970, sharing the same platform with the Dodge Challenger. The Barracuda would be either offered in Chrysler's inline Slant Six engine or in high end Hemi V8. This generation also has an unusual "high impact" color names such as "Lime Light", "Vitamin C", "Moulin Rogue" and "Tor Red".

The Barracuda would partake in factory-sponsored AAR (All American Racers) in the 1970 Trans-Am Series, which failed to win any of the races despite have three pole positions, but managed to have a best finish when the car finished second in Road America.

    Plymouth Road Runner/Superbird
https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/plymouth_road_runner.jpg
Guaranteed for escaping from that coyote.

"BEEP! BEEP!!"
Road Runner, Wile E. Coyote and the Road Runner, also acting as the car's horn and advertising slogan.

Yes, this car has something to do with the Road Runner.

While many muscle cars are moving away from producing cheap fast cars and gaining features as well as increasing the price, this mid-size muscle car of 1968 is no slouch to do so. Since Plymouth already had a high performing GTX, designers decided to go back to the drawing board and resurrect the original muscle car concept, capable of a quarter mile in less than 14 seconds and cost no more than $3,000. And thus, the Plymouth Road Runner is born.

Truth in Television, Plymouth paid Warner Bros. $50,000 to use the Road Runner name from the cartoon Wile E. Coyote and the Road Runner, including its Character Catchphrase "beep, beep" as the car's signature horn.

The short-lived Rice Burner, the Superbird is a highly modified version of the Road Runner produced in 1970, acting as the Palette Swap of the Dodge Charger Daytona stock car. At the same year of production, the iconic blue Superbird became famous in NASCAR, as it is driven by the legend, Richard Petty, netting 8 wins with this car.

Apart from the Road Runner being modified to achieve a top speed of 300mph, it is also modified with other goodies such as a grappling hook, a lava plow, and special lava-resistant tires.
    • Taro would later return with his signature Road Runner in the first movie in the Hot Wheels: AcceleRacers saga (subtitled as Ignition) as a member of the Metal Maniacs. This time sporting a Supercharger and a new paint-scheme. However, it doesn't fair that well against the Drones and the new challenges in the Storm Realm, as it gets damadged due to a Drone Vehicle knocking into it, disabling the car and knocking Taro out in the process. (Whilst it is the only returning car from World Race to fully make it out of the Storm Realm, the car had to be towed out of the realm by Wylde's car, Spinebuster.).

  • The Fast and the Furious would use the Road Runner as one of its major cars throughout the franchise:
    • The ending of The Fast and the Furious: Tokyo Drift has The Cameo Dominic Toretto drive a gray Road Runner, as he's being challenged by Sean Boswell in his S15 Silvia to a friendly drag race before the credits roll. As Sean compliments Dom's ride, he responds...

    Reliant three-wheeler
https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/reliant_regal.jpg
Giving the term "three-legged race" a new meaning.

"A normal Reliant Robin will not roll unless a drunken rugby team is on hand. Or it's windy. But in a headlong drive to amuse and entertain, I'd asked the backroom boys to play around with the differential so that the poor little thing rolled over every time I turned the steering wheel"
Jeremy Clarkson, admitting that the Reliant Robin that infamously rolled over in Top Gear was rigged to do so

Three wheelers are Reliant Motors' specialty, which were usually tricycles. So why not do that on a car? What Could Possibly Go Wrong?

It all dates back to 1952 with Reliant's first ever three-wheeler on a motor vehicle, the Reliant Regal, using the original wooden frame and discrete-panel bodywork design made of aluminium. When price of aluminium increased, it switched to glass fibre panels instead. The Regal had underwent numerous revision from its first initiation in 1953 all the way to 1973. It also offers in various body types as well, ranging from saloons to van to even an estate where the latter two were known to be the Reliant Supervan. Sales were poor throughout its lifespan, where the car only sold 50,000 units, compared to the Mini Cooper's 2 millionth.

With that, Reliant has produced its direct successor; the Reliant Robin, a car built fully out of fibreglass, which saw far more success than the its predecessor. Its first iteration occurred in 1973, but is fitted with a powerful 750 cc OHV inline-4 engine (later iterations see powerful displacements). Its body received major revisions executed by Ogle Design, which allows to make the car far more affordable for the masses of the United Kingdom. While the Robin was replaced by the Reliant Rialto, production of the Robin didn't stop until the Turn of the Millennium in 2002.

And before anyone asks: Yes, while it is cool to have three-wheels, it's also very impractical, since having a single wheel in front of the car would be unstable when turning, which would result in the car toppling over. (Although Jeremy Clarkson did admit that the Reliant Robin that infamously rolled over every time he turned the steering wheel while testing the car on Top Gear was actually rigged by "the backroom boys" to do so.) Oh, and it's one of the cars that can give a driver the closest thing to a Universal Driver's License, since you only need a motorcycle license to drive this three-wheeler.

  • The Supervan in Wreckfest is inspired by The Alleged Car; the 1972 Relian Regal Supervan III, a car obtained after winning The Great Escape event.

    Rolls-Royce Phantom series
https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/rolls_royce_phantom.jpg
Defining the Spirit of Ecstacy since 1925. note

"Rolls-Royce Phantom Two. 4.3 litre, 30 horsepower, six cylinder engine, with Stromberg Downdraft carburetor. Can go from zero to 100 kilometers an hour in 12.5 seconds. And I even like the color."

An Older Than Television example of an automobile and one of the Long-Runners still active in production of today and once long owned by then-Queen Elizabeth II.

The Phantom is the name of Rolls-Royce's flagship series of ultra-luxurious full-size limousine, introduced in 1925. The "phantom" name has long been Rolls-Royce's long tradition of using the Family Theme Naming of models after "ghosts", due to its predecessor's model, the Silver Ghost, being a 40/50hp model, finished in a silver paintwork.

Its first model was the Phantom I or the "New Phantom" introduced in 1925, produced in small quantities, while the Phantom II, unveiled 4 years later was the last 40/50 hp model and utilizing its all-new chassis and improved engine. The Phantom III, introduced in 1936 was the first and only generation to ever use a V12 engine and the final model before production was on hold due to World War II. After the war, the Phantom IV was unveiled in 1950, with only 18 units produced, which would be sold to the heads of state and The British Royal Family.

The Phantom V in 1959 is based on Rolls-Royce's own Silver Cloud II, now using its patented V8 engine. It has reached mainstream to famous celebrities like Elton John, Elvis Presley and famously, the custom psychedelic art car once owned by John Lennon of The Beatles. Nearly identical to its predecessor, the Phantom VI was the last Phantom built in the 20th century, with 374 produced from its 22 year span.

As the Turn of the Millennium began, the brand new Rolls-Royce Phantom VII was introduced in 2003, and is the first Rolls-Royce produced under the subsidiary of BMW. Unlike previous generations, it's offered in a 4-door saloon or a 2-door coupe/cabriolet. Unique to this model is its rear-hinged suicide doors called coach doors, and its instrument panel has no tachometer but exchanges it for its power reserve dial. The current generation Phantom VIII was a stylistic evolution to the Phantom VII serving as the base models for other Rolls-Royce models like the Cullinan, Ghost and Wraith.

All these models hood ornament sculpture name the Spirit of Ecstasy, a figure of a woman leaning forwards with her arms outstretched behind and above her. Billowing cloth runs from her arms to her back, resembling wings.

    Rolls-Royce Silver Cloud
https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/rolls_royce_silver_cloud.jpg
It doesn't need to be in silver to build this luxurious beauty.

Jerry Seinfeld: As a car, it's terrible.
Carl Reiner: Really?
Jerry Seinfeld: Yeah. But it's a nice living room - with wheels.

The second of the Silver series.

The Rolls-Royce Silver Cloud is a series of luxurious automobiles that replaced the Silver Dawn in 1955, but was replaced by the Silver Shadow in 1966. Designed by John P. Blatchey, the Silver Cloud was far more ubiquitous than its predecessor due to having far better production access (since the Silver Dawn's production was scarce from the aftermath of World War II).

Its body was constructed with body-on-frame, allowing special bodied versions to be produces, though many of the standard models were manufactured using a steel body shell. It uses a light-weight aluminium alloy used for many of its components, a very rigid and welded steel box, and it weighs 1.95 tonnes. Its first iteration, the Silver Cloud I would use a 155-hp 4.9 L inline-6 engine, though in 1957, twin SU carburettors were added in its revision.

In 1959, the second-gen Silver Cloud had slight revisions to the car, which now uses a new 6.2 L V8 engine but its weighs heavier than its previous iterations, weighing a mere 2.11 tonnes. Performance has drastically improved and power steering became a new standard. Finally in 1962, the Silver Cloud III sees higher octane levels of premium fuel in many markets, increased power but also lots of weight reduction where it sees a slight boost of speed and performance.

All three generations of the Silver Cloud would also serve as the basis for the Bentley S1, S2 and S3.

Former president of the United States Donald Trump has this 1956 Silver Cloud as part of his car collection.
