I wish I could throw up... (beat) No, I don't mean I wish I could throw up, I mean I wish I could throw things up, not barf... (snicker) "I wish I could throw up..." if only I could constipate!
Episode 66 has this moment. After he fails at grabbing the last Green Star, he ends up seemingly falling to his death, only to grab the previous Green Star on the way down. The last 2 minutes of his commentary set it in stone.
Usually one sprouts up whenever he voices Ganondorf in Wind Waker, throwing in his own little quips with the usual dialog. The occasional special effect echoes help matters along.
"What the fuck is this!?"
"Gods! Hear that which I desire! I WANT MORE TWINKIES! Twinkies! Lots of Twinkies and Ho Hos! And some Ding Dongs, yo! And some sunrise, that would be nice, too."
During his impromptu playing of Super Mario Kart, NCS manages to finish dead last twice on the same track. While attempting the course for a third time, he remembers a shortcut he offhandedly mentioned earlier in the video, grabs a feather on the final lap, and figures he doesn't have much to lose:
Great Mighty Poo: How about some scat, you little twat? NCS:What!? Oh nonononono, don't do it now! I already got enough shit being thrown at me— waitwaitwait, B Pad! *activates* *Conker pulls out a giant roll of toilet paper* NCS:WHAT!?GET SOME MORE TOILET PAPER! AAAAAHAHAHAHA! GET SOME MORE TOILET PAPER! YES! NO WAY! I actually get to use toilet paper!
To the end:
NCS: WHAT WHAT, WE'RE NOT DONE YET!? OH JEEZ LOUISE, MAN! WHAT THE HELL!? ...wait a minute, though! Was that— was that what I think it was? Do I actually get to flush him down? After all that, I get to flush it? Ohh, wouldn't that be amazing, please tell me they did that! Y'know,IN THE BATHROOM! They had to have done that! There is no way they wouldn't make that the way that you finally finish him off! It has to be! ... *Conker pulls the flusher* Great Mighty Poo: Ah, you cursed squirrel! *flushing sound* NCS:YES!GET SOME MORE TOILET PAPER! *spends the entire last minute of the video uncontrollably laughing his ass off*
The fact that he has an In The Bathroommeter in the Conker LP. Occasionally, fans will leave comments saying "Ding!" (the meter noise) or just mention the meter whenever he says "In the bathroom!" in other LPs.
Part 1 of his Donkey Kong 64 LP treats us to this rather interesting Freudian Slip:
Tim: "Luckily for you, old Cranky's bitch of home— BATCH of homemade potions will give you all the skills you need for your silly 3-D quest.
Anytime he pulls off the infamous Green Rupee Scream.
In his Plants vs Zombies LP, he said how every composer's dream is to put lyrics about taking a crap to beautiful music. He then sung a song about sitting on the can to Beethoven's Fifth. And it is awesome.
His song at the beginning of his Majora's Mask LP is pretty funny. Quite a few of the video's comments even comment on the song rather than the rest of the video!
In Skyward Sword part 6, he doesn't know what kind of voice to give the mysterious person in the temple, so he just gives them all of them at once.
While looking around for the Kikwis in Skyward Sword, NCS is completely oblivious to the crow flying around Link... Then he realises it's actually taken a crap on Link's head.
Most of his LMAOnote Let's Mess Around OnMario Party 2 videos are hilarious— particularly the second board, where he semi-consistently refers to the NPC Mario and DK as ProtonJon and Chuggaaconroy. A lot of what happens there doubles as Hilarious in Hindsight for The Runaway Guys' play through of MP2.
NCS dissolves into making Call Backs or shouting Catch Phrases on behalf of his missing companions. Highlights are:
" And I'm in last place. Feels like home. Just kidding..."
"Have a bomb, Chugga! Look at Proton and Chugga passing it back and forth! This really is Proton and Chugga..."
His commentary while on a team with NPC DK/Prugga, and beating the others
NCS: SUCK IT TREBECK!
" Chugga's got a mushroom. No further comment there."
"Hey Chugga, don't eat the mu—" [dissolves into laughter]
Him taking over for Jon when NPC Mario/Choton gets screwed over.
NCS:What? Are you serious? GAAAAAAAME! ... NCS: Ooooooh, I can hear Proton now! 'GAAAAAAME!'
NCS and Wario getting knocked back to the start in Western Land by the train. NCS immediately mimics 'D'oh, I missed!' and, as Wario's using his warp block, quips:
The fact that he got so into a game of Bobsled run. While it didn't end well, it did net us this gem:
NCS: Just let him hit your butt! Let him hit your butt! There you go, there you go! Hit my butt! Hit my butt! Hit my butt! My butt! [Beat] My buuuuuuuutt~!
During the first episode of NCS's LP of New Super Mario Bros. Wii, he and a guest-star spend several minutes looking for a secret pipe to a hidden bonus area. Cue NCS just casually standing on the pipe they were looking for without realizing it.
Mario holding onto a Bob-omb promting this response-
Chibi: (While Mario holds said Bob-omb) No, we can't keep it! Tim: (Chuckles)
Them trying and failing several times to defeat some Ice Bros in a bonus mini-game.
In one episode of the Skyward Sword LPnote "You Ain't Nothin' but a Fetch Quest" NCS sings the Ballad of the Goddess's lyrics... and belatedly realizes that he wasn't singing them to the tune of the Ballad of the Goddess, but to the Great Mighty Poo's song. When the second verse comes up, he goes ahead and sings that the same way.
Upon encountering a glitch in Donkey Kong Country 3 wherein Dixie Kong flies to the top of the screen after he falls into a pit and dies.
NCS: Howdy guys, it's NintendoCapriSun here, welcome back to The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time, we were just about to jump off a cliff. So here we go. Link does so at his behest, but fails to break the spiderweb blocking the hole in the ground Navi: Heyheyheyheyheyheyheyheyhey! NCS: Uh, Navi? Take it easy.
There's Part 33 of Donkey Kong 64, where Tim's commentary isn't that great...so Tim himself comes in, in a second commentary track, and heckles himself for the whole video.
Similarly, in Part 58 he heckles himself and commentates as freaking BATMAN!
When he's playing the Creepy Castle level for Donkey Kong 64, he spend over an hour trying to beat a tough round of Beaver Bother. Later when he's doing a mini game for Lanky, it's another round of Beaver Bother much to Tim's dismay.
In Part 66, he spends the entire video trying to beat the original Donkey Kong to get the Nintendo Coin and goes slowly mad.
This is ridiculous! The only time he would go up that ladder is when I was pickin' my nose! [cracks up] You're sittin' here gettin' all mad, talkin' about pickin' your nose! Like, of course you're gonna be mad then! Of course your life is gonna suck if you're pickin' your nose!
Also from Paper Mario: The Thousand-Year Door, when confronting Doopliss on Twilight Trail, he tells Tim to say his name. This segues into Tim singing and believing that his name is Beyoncé.
The ENTIRE first episode of his Pokémon Sapphire Let's Play. One particularly good moment is what he names his Mudkip: Tom Hanks.
In episode 2, after getting the Running Shoes, he finds it so mind-boggling that the shoes would come with instructions that he proceeds to laugh uncontrollably for about 30 seconds.
Mother: NCS, those shoes came with instructions. NCS (laughs his head off): Do you really need instructions for shoes?
And just prior to that, NCS zooming in on the Mother's figure.
NCS: Wait a minute! I'm talking about my mom! Oh my god...
NCS talks about Game of Thrones and mixes up the name Westeros with "Westboro".
Any time NCS decides to read out the in-game dialogue but replace it with something he thinks is better, such as:
NPC: I am Mr. Stone, President of the Devon Corporation. NCS: "I am Obama, President of the United States of America".
Tim seeing the Pokémon Nuzleaf for the first time:
NCS: "I am the almighty tiki god! I wear a bra on my legs!"
His reaction to seeing Kirlia's back sprite. (Even funnier considering that his Kirlia is male)
NCS: "Look at that ASS, man! Oh my god! *laughs pervertedly*"
In episode 30, when confronting Norman (the player character's in-game father) NCS comments "I may not be able to beat my dad at Dr. Mario, but I'm sure going to beat him at Pokémon!" He then adds that his Real Life father is a master at Dr. Mario and can get up to level 50.
Tim's post-edit pop-up messages in episode 43 where he constantly corrects incorrect statements he makes in the video.
In Episode 51, the best use of the Green Rupee Scream - after trying to catch Regice, it runs out of PP and kills itself from struggle recoil. His reaction is priceless.
He finally manages to catch Regice (or as he calls it, "Regis Philbin" when he plans to use 30 Ultra Balls in order to max out the effectiveness of a Timer Ball. He does so, only for the Timer Ball to fail. And then, as he despairs, the next Ultra Ball he throws randomly catches it.
His... enthusiasm when getting the Chili Bean in Plants vs Zombies 2. For the record, the chili bean makes your enemies fart. Which kills them.
While playing Metroid, he attempts to take a shortcut to get out of Ridley's hideout, only to discover he made a wrong turn and after a few good minutes of traveling finds himself smack dab in front of a dead end. Cue what can only be described as an offscreen Skyward Scream.
"CRAP! I don't want him crawling all over my face tonight..."
His reaction to cross-examining the parrot during Phoenix Wright: Ace Attorney. He laughs for about 5 minutes, noting that he hasn't laughed that hard since encountering The Great Mighty Poo (he goes on to call it "The Great Mighty Parrot").
In case 5, when he has the true culprit on the ropes and witnesses the culprit's "shocked" animation, he shouts, "Pikachu!"
One of Tim's fans gave him a bell that has the words "IN THE BATHROOM" engraved on it.
In The Legend of Zelda: A Link Between Worlds, at one point there are dialogue balloons added for the Maiamais to yell at him for not noticing them. He goes back for all of them eventually, but still.
Declaring that Richard Wellington in Case 1 of Justice For All is Egoraptor and the con artist friends of his are the Game Grumps.
His reaction to Pearl first channeling Mia is priceless. Especially her increased cleavage.
The ending of Case 3, Part 14
Tim: Okay let's go talk to that monkey- WHO THE FUCK ARE YOU?
For context, Tim somehow came under the impression that Money the Monkey was Acro the Acrobat, and thought the game was having him talk to the monkey when he was sent to Acro's room. Thus, he was caught completely off guard when he sees the real Acro for the first time, leading to the above.
His Squeereaction to Miles Edgeworth returning in case 4, part 8.
Tim: This is Future Tim, and this is a volume warning.
The fact that he names his character in his Pokemon Omega Ruby Let's Play TimHisWife.
In part 6 of the game's second case, he predicts that an incoming character whose voice Phoenix recognizes is Larry Butz. He's right! He himself can hardly believe it.
When asked to point out a contradiction in a photo of Mask☆DeMasque in Part 9 of the same case, he thinks his crotch looks like a woman's legs with panties. Tim's completely stumped on what he has to point out, so he actually points out DeMasque's crotch as the contradiction. Godot's unintentionally fitting reaction makes it even funnier.
Godot: The place that you're pointing to is all wrong.
He does it again in Part 20.
His reaction to meeting Jean Armstrong for the first time in case 3-3 is a loud "HOLY FUCK!" followed by Stunned Silence and four "shocked" meme images. When he finally gets his voice back, he says:
Tim: Times like this... make me wish... that I used webcam.
His reaction to seeing "Mia" in the waitress uniform later in Case 3-3 is breaking down in uncontrollable laughter and wondering why he never saw that coming.
His reaction to Furio Tigre's roar that takes not one, not two, but eight textboxes to get through.
When he sees Diego at the beginning of case 4, he's a biiiiit slow to catch on to who he is:
He passively mentions in Part 3 of Case 3-4 how he's heating up fish sticks as he plays. Turns into a Brick Joke halfway into Part 4.
Edgeworth: Then perhaps it would be faster if Ms. Fey explained herself. Tim: Oh don't mind if I do! (loud beeping is heard) (as Mia Fey) Your Honor! The fish sticks are done!
Made funnier by Tim editing in that last sentence to look like it was Mia herself who said that.
The "What?" counter in Apollo Justice. It goes off a lot, especially during the first case since Tim had no idea that the previous protagonist was still involved in this game.
He's struck in utter disbelief when he jokingly guesses that Spark Brushel's tell is sweaty armpits, then stumbles onto the fact that he's correct mere seconds later.
The "What?" counter is a Running Gag in the Ace Attorney games in general while one part of Ace Attorney Investigations adds a "Swiss Cake Roll" counter that shoots up very quickly and manages to avoid becoming an Overly Long Gag.
After one particularly major Wham Line in Case 4 of Investigations 2 (the one where Justine Courtney reveals herself as a mole ), Tim lets out a Big "WHAT?!" so massive that the What Counter temporarily goes up to 9999, and gets stuck there for a few seconds before reading "refreshing..."
There are several times during his Ace Attorney let's plays where he (jokingly or not) ends up successfully guessing some of the big twists of the cases. Like when he said that Kristoph was the killer and he was just framing his friend barely five minutes into Apollo Justice: Ace Attorney.
He also has a tendency to overthink the simpler puzzles in the games.
When he turns into Mega Yoshi in Yoshi's Woolly World he unleashes a very powerful and deep "SO HAPPY!!!" to match Yoshi's size.
The titles of his Danganronpa streams typically get the game's title hilariously wrong: "Dangit Grandpa", "Dangnang Rapgod", "Drunk and Zumba", "Doodoo Ricecake", "Darkest Moomba", etc.
His reaction to the first murder in Danganronpa is understandably negative, but it is somewhat mitigated by the fact that it happens IN THE BATHROOM!
Doubles as an Awesome moment: during Guesspionage, Tim was unaware that it was his turn, so the game took the default 50% for the response. And then...
Also doubles as an Awesome moment: Every so often, donators in his stream will assume the roles of various characters. This particular donator signed his name as Archer and the donation comment was the incantation for Unlimited Blade Works, which Tim read aloud.
Tim: That was epic as hell!
His tendency to stop in his Ace Attorney Investigations videos, start up the next one, then find out the game had a natural "To Be Continued" point not two minutes beyond where he stopped. In the finale, he swears he hasn't been doing it on purpose.
During his first Nine Hours, Nine Persons, Nine Doors stream his reactions to the increasingly innuendo-laden conversation between Junpei and June when selecting the option that June may be nervous on riding in an elevator alone with a boy between the second and third sets of numbered doors only get funnier with each line. Here is but a small sampling.
His encounter with Boss Bass in part 1 of his Super Mario Bros 3 Randomized playthrough is filled with deaths and hilarity, but especially this part.
In his live stream of Final Fantasy X he invoked the "Stay away from the summoner!" woman nearly 70 times and managed to keep it funny every time. The capstone came after he finally moved on and a $25 donation came in from "Old Besaid Woman" that also said, "Stay away from the summoner!"
His "Raid Countermeasures" video played during his streams. Many people have describe it as, "The most Tim thing there is."
Popoi: This Elinee witch wasn't always so scary, right? Tim (as Primm): Nope, she wasn't. Randi: No, I heard she was a typical old lady before. Tim (as Primm): Nope, she wasn't. Popoi: Then, it was the magic that made her into a terrifying bad guy, right? Tim (as Primm): Nope, it wasn't. Popoi: Hear me out—what if someone who was mean from the start got their hands on that kind of magic? Tim (as Primm): No, that could never happen. Randi: I guess they'd do even more harm out in the world. Tim (as Primm): No they wouldn't. Popoi: Right?! Then...what would happen if Sis managed to get more magic powers? Tim (as Primm): That would never happen. Randi: Whoa, better not think about it! There's no way we'd manage to defeat something so sinister! Tim (as Primm): Nope, you wouldn't.
His third trip through the Ocarina of Time Randomizer has him randomize a lot more than the previous two runs; this includes area music, and Kokiri Forest gets Ganon's Theme! The tune mismatch itself is absolutely hilarious, to say nothing of Tim's reaction every time he enters the area.
During Part 3 of his A Link to the Past Enemizer run, he stops short of the boss room in Skull Woods to ponder and talk about the potentially difficult boss fight he could drop into, only for a Wallmaster to drop from the ceiling and take him back to the entrance.
Episode 26 of his 2019 Ocarina Of Time Randomizer Crapsanity series, "That Thing Jon Did", has Tim going through the Fire Temple in his second seed... and around 10 minutes through the video, he starts suddenly remembering an innocuous thing Jon did during The Runaway Guys Colosseum. This results in him sporadically bursting out laughing at numerous points throughout the video just from remembering it, with increasingly zoomed in footage of said thing playing over the first couple of times.
When Tim did a run of Zelda II Level-1 Attack for Smile-Time Variety Hour on December 14, 2019, he announced a donation incentive where $1,000 would dictate a game he would LP in 2020. Not only did he get four, the first one arrived before he even left the title screen!
In Part 1 of his replay of Final Fantasy VI he believes that he's started a New Game and lets the demo play all the way through the opening credits, only to not realize the mistake until returning to the title screen that he wasn't actually in control.
Part 6 of his Smash Vs. Friends ends with "Suddenly Three Girls" as- via random character selection- the players ended us Zero Suit Samus, Sheik, and Lucina, so they decide to become best friends for the duration of the match and launch into a lengthy girl talk conversation with Valley Girl accents while trying to avoid Corpsing.
"2nd Tim" returns in Part 14 of the Fortune Street playthrough and undergoes complete Sanity Slippage at his past self's horrible playing.
After spending a good chunk of time without a sword in his second Wind Waker Randomizer run, he finds nearly all of the Master Sword upgrades in quick succession in a single video, followed by immediately finding the Light Arrows for full Go Mode at the start of the subsequent video. His reaction is, "Are you Joshing me?!" with Link holding up a portrait of JoshJepson.
Near the end of of Metroid: Zero Mission in part 10, after obtaining Samus's fully-powered suit near the end of the game, Tim slowly starts to speak as "The Untimate" as Samus mows down hordes of enemies, a fierce One-Man Army who speaks with an Ahnold voice and reacts with great hostility and "DAHHHHHHH"s aplenty in response to the obstacles in their path. This is immediately followed by the 35-minute finale of the series, aptly titled "Samus Arnold", in which Tim ends up delivering most of the episode's commentary in the voice of The Untimate.
"Bad Green Rupee Luck", the third episode of the 2021 OoT randomizer series, has Tim attempt the Treasure Box Shop gamenote In which there are several rooms containing two chests with either a key to the next room or a green rupee, which turns into a miserable experience in which fortune is not on Tim's side. Three straight minutes are spent attempting the first room, and when he finally does cave and choose the left chest after getting green rupees from the right chest four times in a row...
(getting a green rupee from the right chest for the second time in a row) NCS: Whatever happened to Gambler's Fallacy?! (getting a green rupee from the right chest for the third time in a row) NCS:DUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOODE! (finally choosing the left chest after four attempts and getting another green rupee) NCS: You fuckin' smartass!
Even the Zelda 1 Randomizer seems to understand that Tim is the one playing by giving him a single rupee from a Helpful Moblin. Cue the glorious return of the Green Rupee Scream after a long absence.
