Total Drama Infinite is a Massive Multiplayer Crossover Total Drama fanfic by MemeKing the Third. In this new season of Total Drama, Chris has decided to take things up a notch. Not just content with tormenting contestants from his world, he's decided to pull in contestants from all across the multiverse. Which of these 26 will win the million dollars?

The fic would later receive a sequel, featuring 15 newcomers (14 of which are decided on by reader vote and one personally chosen by the author) and 15 returning characters (also decided on by reader vote). The sequel, based on World Tour with an interdimensional twist, can be found here.

A spinoff called Total Drama Infinite: Bon Voyage is under development. Hosted by Don from The Ridonculous Race, this season takes place on a cruise ship with 28 new contestants.

Tropes that apply to the series:

    open/close all folders
    General
  • Adaptational Badass: Downplayed with DIO, who has the same abilities he had in canon but lacks his canonical weakness to sunlight.
  • Composite Character: Cinder's character appears to be a mix of her appearances from seasons 3 and 4 of her home series. Her outfit is offhandedly mentioned as the season 4 version ("It was a woman, dressed in black") and she uses her Grimm arm, but she still has her left eye and her personality appears to be based on her more composed version from season 3.
  • Massive Multiplayer Crossover: The series essentially takes Total Drama and gives it the twist of featuring characters from other fictional universes as the contestants.
  • Plucky Comic Relief: Each season has at least one character who primarily exists to provide comedy and get voted off early:
  • Shipper on Deck: Deadpool ships Katakuri/Charlie and Edward/Tari, going out of his way to provide relationship advice and nudge them together. 2 adds Terry/Aqua and Reg/Miu to his list of ships.
  • Sir Swears-a-Lot: Rick, Miu and Max all pepper their dialogue with swears, when most of the cast otherwise abstain from doing so.

    Total Drama Infinite
  • Arc Villain:
    • Rick takes over as the Big Bad during "Secrets, Lies and..... Dragons?!" when he traps everyone in a computer simulation and tries to blow them all up, forcing everyone to pull an Enemy Mine to stop him. After he's defeated, he's promptly eliminated.
    • Megatron acts as this in "Campers, Rollout!" when he attacks the island in search of Blitzwing (who Dororo stole the head of).
    • King Boo during "Happy Crossoverween", as he's the one who brought in villains and monsters from other series to attack the contestants and Take Over the World.
    • Monokuma of Danganronpa fame takes over in "Trigger Happy Turnabout" when he traps the campers on the island and renders them unable to leave until one of them kills another and either gets away with it or gets caught.
  • Big Bad Duumvirate: DIO and Cinder, both Big Bads in their respective series, have formed an alliance to win the million. They're responsible for orchestrating several eliminations throughout the series and have forced others into their alliance only to eliminate them later.
  • Big Bad Wannabe: Of the Big Bad Duumvirate, DIO turns out to be the bigger threat, eventually backstabbing and orchestrating Cinder's elimination to become the single Big Bad.
  • Big "WHAT?!": Everyone shouts it in "Secrets, Lies and..... Dragons?!" when Rick reveals he's reprogrammed the simulation to blow everyone up in ten minutes.
  • Birds of a Feather:
    • Platonic variation; Deadpool and Spinel become friends right away because of their similarly goofy natures.
    • Edward and Tari hit it off quickly because of their shared prosthetic limbs, and only find more similarities from there. They eventually become a couple because of their similarities.
  • Brainwashed and Crazy: During the virtual reality challenge, DIO obtains a powerup that gives him Mind Control. He uses it to control Android 18 during the challenge and forces her to attack the other contestants, sealing her elimination.
  • Breaking the Fourth Wall: Deadpool, being Deadpool, casually has conversations with the author throughout the story, often making aside remarks and name-dropping him to the confusion of everyone else.
  • Call-Back:
    • Several of the challenges are directly based on challenges from the original TDI:
      • The cliff-diving challenge in "The Game is Set" is a modified version of the same challenge from "Not So Happy Campers".
      • The Face Your Fears challenge in "Fears, Tears and Donuts" is based on "Phobia Factor".
      • "Hell's Kitchen" is based around a cooking challenge - the same one from "If You Can't Take the Heat..."
      • The hunting challenge in "Holiday Happy Hunt" is the same challenge as in "Paintball Deer Hunter", but with a Christmas-based theme.
    • Rick forcing the other contestants into a timed death game is very similar to when he did the same to the Vindicators in "Vindicators 3: the Return of World Ender". He doesn't get off so easily this time, however.
  • The Cameo: The multiverse doesn't stop with contestants; characters from anywhere are liable to appear at any time.
  • Conflicting Loyalty: Deadpool ends up forced to choose between his alliance with DIO and Cinder and his newfound friendship with Spinel. He eventually picks the latter.
  • Continuity Nod: Rick is a walking goldmine of references to episodes from his show:
    • Rick gives Wendy grappling boots to use during their team challenge in "Champs and Chumps". Said boots were also used by Morty during the pilot episode, and Wendy similarly struggles to get them to work properly.
    • When turned into a dragon, Rick yells out "I'M DRAGON RIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIICK!" the same way he yelled "I'M PICKLE RIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIICK!" in the episode "Pickle Rick".
    • Rick brings up his show's lack of an afterlife, with everything being "complete blackness after death", the same way he did in the episode "The Rickchurian Mortydate". Deadpool promptly lampshades the bizarreness of Rick's lack of afterlife, considering Charlie's universe has both a Heaven and Hell.
  • Crossover: A brief one with another fanfic no less! At one point in "Frenemies!", Spinel actually visits the world of another Total Drama fanfic: Total drama cruise. Notable in that said crossover is actually used to set up a chapter for the latter fic.
  • Crossover Couple: Katakuri hooks up with Charlie, and Tari hooks up with Edward. DIO and Cinder Fall also get some Belligerent Sexual Tension near the end of the season, which only escalates by the following one.
  • Defrosting Ice King: Katakuri initially tries to put up a cold, intimidating exterior, but after his two Dark Secrets (his secret love for donuts and his Nightmare Face) are exposed, his teammates' continuing to support him eventually leads him to get along better with them; in particular, he develops a surrogate Big Brother Instinct towards Wendy and gets into a relationship with Charlie.
  • Determinator: Glass Joe takes a full beating from DIO in "Champs and Chumps", to the point where DIO's forced to pull out his Rapid-Fire Fisticuffs just to take him down.
  • Disney Death: DIO appears to be killed by Cinder in "Trigger Happy Turnabout", but as it's actually a simulation he's perfectly fine.
  • Earn Your Happy Ending: After suffering a lot of abuse and humiliation during the competition, Wendy wins the million dollars.
  • Expy: Several of the contestants fill similar roles to existing Total Drama contestants:
    • Cinder is similar to Heather in that they're both sultry Ms Fanservices who act as the Big Bads of their debut seasons.
    • Popo and Nana are similar to Katie and Sadie in that they were best friends before the show started and one of them is eliminated after the two get lost during a challenge and cause their team to lose.
    • Tatsumaki is one for Eva, as they're both short-tempered, overly-competitive characters who get eliminated early due to being unable to control their anger.
    • Elena is similar to Dawn in that they're both mystical woman who possess the ability to sense evil, and are framed by the Big Bad and eliminated early as a result.
    • Rick plays a similar role to Scarlett, being a scientist who tries to kill the other contestants, becoming an Arc Villain in the process.
  • Frame-Up: DIO gets Elena eliminated by stealing her journal, writing mean insults about her teammates and passing them off as her own.
  • The Load: King Harkinian proves to be utterly useless during his short run as a competitor. He fails to jump off the cliff, annoys his team members several times with his stupidity and destroys their hot tub with his dinner cannon, causing them to lose the challenge and cementing his being the first out.
  • Massive Multiplayer Crossover: The fic features contestants from a whopping 25 series, with even series not represented via contestants still getting cameos here and there.
  • Medium Awareness: Deadpool is perfectly aware that he's in a fanfiction. Early on, he predicts Chris rehashing the cliff-diving challenge by reading the fic's script.
  • Mythology Gag: DIO references his DEATH BATTLE! fight with Alucard when the two meet during the haunted castle challenge.
  • Non-Gameplay Elimination: After trying to kill the other contestants in a computer simulation, Rick is eliminated without a vote.
  • Rapid-Fire Fisticuffs: DIO brutally beats Glass Joe this way (natch) and Jotaro beats up DIO during his cameo in "Fears, Tears and Donuts".
  • Shoo Out the Clowns: Deadpool, who provides a lot of the comic relief found in the fic, is eliminated at the end of the prison challenge. After the character's elimination, the challenges gradually get more and more intense with things like the spooky haunted castle challenge and the killing game challenge where one of the contestants gets murdered, though it turns out to be a Disney Death.
  • Sore Loser: DIO suffers a major Villainous Breakdown after being voted off, trying to attack Wendy and having to be restrained by the Ginyu Force.
  • Story-Breaker Power:
    • Due to his Medium Awareness, Deadpool has the ability to read the fic's script and predict exactly what's going to happen at any given point. Since this would essentially allow him to circumvent the other competitors' strategies, topple the villain's alliance and prevent his own elimination at will, he promises not to use it again for the author's sake.
    • Wendy's Dragonite is a powerful psuedo-legendary Pokémon with speed, power and the ability to fly. So it's no surprise that, once Wendy obtains it, it's away or otherwise occupied in some way that ensures Wendy can't just steamroll the rest of the game with it - barring a brief mention, it's also completely absent from Infinite 2 for the same reason.
  • Threat Backfire: Deadpool notes that Rick's threat that there's nothing after death when he's trying to blow them up in the computer simulation doesn't really work when one of the contestants (Charlie) is literally from Hell.
  • Villain: Exit, Stage Left: Subverted: Rick tries to escape through a portal after his plan to kill the other contestants fails, but is thwarted when the Ginyu Force smashes his portal gun. He is instead eliminated via cannon.
  • We Hardly Knew Ye: Several contestants get eliminated early on without having much effect on the overarching story, like King Harkinian, Sora, Tatsumaki and Nicole. Played With, as they don't die, but they don't show up afterwards aside from the occasional cameo at the Playa de Losers.
  • Wham Episode: Both parts of "Secrets, Lies and..... Dragons?!" majorly shake up the fic:
    • The first half initially starts off as a normal episode, but the stakes suddenly turn deathly serious when Rick reveals he hacked the simulation to blow everyone up unless they manage to kill him. Cue Cliffhanger and subsequent life-or-death battle.
    • The later half has two eliminations in power player Android 18 and Rick, the latter revealing the details of DIO's alliance in the process.

    Total Drama Infinite 2
  • Adaptational Nice Guy: While still an arrogant jerk, Waluigi is nicer than he is in canon - he genuinely recognizes when he's done wrong and sincerely apologizes to Isabelle for mistreating her.
  • Aesop Amnesia: After being eliminated in the first season for letting her temper and arrogance get the better of her, Tatsumaki proves she's failed to learn anything from this - Starscream successfully goads her into raining meteors upon her own team out of sheer arrogance, which results in her team's disqualification and subsequent loss, and her being eliminated early once again.
  • Backhanded Compliment: Aqua compliments Reg on winning the UA High challenge in her standard backhanded way:
Aqua: Maybe you aren't such a weak little pipsqueak after all.
    Reg: Hey!
Aqua: What?! I was trying to give you a compliment!
  • Be Careful What You Wish For: Waluigi finally gets a Smash invitation... only it came from Isabelle, who give her own invitation to him so he could be happy despite knowing she wouldn't be able to participate. Rather than being happy, Waluigi is instead guilt-ridden and ultimately gives it back to her.
  • Big Bad Wannabe: Max really wants to be the Big Bad, but his obvious Jerkass nature drives away several potential allies and he ultimately quits the game early on.
  • Break the Cutie: Isabelle is heartbroken after Waluigi humiliates her for trying to befriend him.
  • The Bus Came Back: Several early eliminations from the first season such as Sora, Glass Joe, Tatsumaki and Rick returned to the competition due to fan demand.
  • Call-Back:
    • Mae's elimination mimics Cody's elimination in Total Drama Island in that they're both mauled by animals and left unable to compete.
    • The London challenge is a direct homage to the London challenge from World Tour in that the contestants have to find a mysterious killer who's capturing them one-by-one and has the chance to join the competition. Unlike Ezekiel, however, Toko actually joins the game.
  • Continuity Nod:
  • Crossover: Episodes 15 and 16 are a crossover with NondescriptNorbert's fic Total Drama Endless, having both fics' sets of characters competing in Hogwarts and interacting with each other via dimensional travel.
  • Crossover Couple: In addition to the couples from the first season, 2 features Terry Bogard/Aqua and Waluigi/Isabelle. Tenya Iida/Susie also gets copious amounts of Ship Tease.
  • Demoted to Extra: Katakuri and Charlie, major characters in the first season, are among the first eliminations in 2.
  • Driven by Envy: Waluigi is jealous at Isabelle and Terry for being playable in Super Smash Bros. while he's just an assist trophy. Isabelle's main plotline revolves around breaking this and befriending Waluigi.
  • Galactic Conquerer: Master Gjira, an Original Generation warmonger who travels the galaxy searching for power to conquer it. He has an mysterious history with Edward and Rick.
  • Heroic BSoD:
    • Charlie falls into a funk after Katakuri, her boyfriend, is eliminated. This culminates in her shouting at her teammates for screwing up song practice.

    • When Aqua is eliminated shortly after hooking up with Terry, the normally unflappable hungry wolf falls into a depressive state.
  • I Need a Freaking Drink: During the camping challenge in "The Generic Camping Episode", Terry takes a swig from Rick's flask after realizing how dysfunctional his team is.
  • Jerkass Realization: Waluigi deeply regrets humiliating Isabelle after both seeing her heartbroken reaction and being called out by his team. After apologizing to Isabelle, Waluigi hands back her Smash invitation, noting that he wants to get into Smash on his own terms.
  • Not What I Signed Up For: Toko is just as shocked as everyone else when she joins the game.
  • O.O.C. Is Serious Business: Due to being in a Heroic BSoD over Katakuri's elimination, the normally kind-hearted Charlie bosses around her teammates and actively swears at them in a fit of rage when they screw up their song training in "Shady Deals and Shaky Showbiz". She gets over this after a You Are Better Than You Think You Are speech from Meggy and ultimately votes herself off after her team loses as an apology.
  • Original Generation: Bug-woman Sura and Master Gjira, two mysterious villains who have unexplained history with Edward and Rick.
  • Plucky Comic Relief: During his short run on the show, JFK primarily provided comedy in his constant flirting and misguided attempts to look tough.
  • Sacrificial Lamb: Mae is the first victim of Max's scheming, getting mauled by a jaguar and forced out of the game.
  • Screw This, I'm Outta Here: After being scared to near-death by Genocide Jack, Max quits the game in London by stealing a parachute and jumping off the plane.
  • Shout-Out: Chapter 4 is, in lieu of an episode, a homage to Honest Trailers that sums up the Infinite series and all of its characters in that show's style.
  • Sixth Ranger:
    • DIO becomes a member of the Ginyu Force since he didn't get enough votes to compete again.
    • Toko Fukawa joins Team Hungry Wolves at the end of the London challenge as a reward for their victory.
  • Took a Level in Kindness:
    • Rick's still the same Insufferable Genius he always is, but he's now more of a team player, no longer wants to kill the other contestants and even plays a sort of Anti-Hero against the overarching threat of Master Gjira. This is revealed to be a lie in the episode, "The Beginning of the End" where he admits to Giovanni he was feeding into Ed's fears to get him out of the game
    • Waluigi becomes less of an egotistical Jerkass after being called out for it by his team, and genuinely apologizes to Isabelle for mistreating her.
  • Villain Team-Up: Gjira's "Ultimate 7."
  • We Hardly Knew Ye: JFK is the first newcomer eliminated and had little plot relevance, primarily hitting on the female contestants and providing comic relief.
