Kaiju and Aliens

The weekly threats of this series, with varying origins, powers and allegiances.

    open/close all folders
    Golba

Golba

Portrayed by: Kenji Kajikawa (suit actor)

https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/z239ufrb7fb71.png
Ultra-Ancient Dark Monster
A powerful Kaiju born from the combination of Golza and Melba that was summoned by Carmeara to destroy Ultraman Trigger, serving as the hero's first foe.
For tropes relating to its components, Golza and Melba, see Ultraman Tiga
  • All Your Powers Combined: Inherits Golza's strength and burrowing abilities, as well as Melba's flight and speed.
  • Boss Subtitles: Ultra-Ancient Dark Monster.
  • The Bus Came Back: Returns in episode 18, much stronger than before to boot.
  • Call-Back: It's Boss Subtitles are "Ultra-Ancient Dark Monster", Golza and Melba's Boss Subtitles were "Ultra-Ancient Monster" and "Ultra-Ancient Dragon" keeping the theme of Ultra-Ancient monsters of Tiga.
  • Eye Beams: Can fire lasers from both of its components' eyes.
  • Flight: Thanks to Melba's wings it can fly despite the weight of its Golza component.
  • Fusion Dance: Of Golza and Melba which Mitsukuni Shizuma points out.
  • Human Shield: Golba meets its end when Carmeara uses it to shield herself from Trigger's Zeperion Beam.
  • Multiple Head Case: Has Golba's and Melba's heads which can attack independently.
  • Mythology Gag:
    • It's the fusion of the two first Monsters of the Week of Ultraman Tiga, who serves as this series' first Monster of the Week and is also tag-teaming the hero (though in this case it's a Dark Giant, Carmeara, rather than another Kaiju that's assisting in the fight).
    • Its status as a creation of the Big Bad brings to mind Neo Darambia, which like Golba serves as the Starter Villain of its show and on top of that is fought in an Earth colony on Mars.
  • Starter Villain: While Carmeara is the first antagonist to appear, Golba takes the credit of being Trigger's first opponent, with its master joining the fight midway to assist her monster.
  • Starter Villain Stays: It returns through a second individual known as Golba II in episode 18.
  • Took a Level in Badass: The second Golba in episode 18, Golba II, is explicitly stated to be far stronger than the original being able to overpower Trigger Multi Type and only being defeated by Glitter Eternity.
  • Tunnel King: Can burrow underground to surprise opponents or bypass walls.

    Gymaira

Gymaira

Portrayed by: Satoru Okabe (suit actor)

A dangerous vampiric monster that threatens Earth and Trigger's third foe.
For tropes pertaining to Gymaira in general see Ultraman 80
  • Demoted to Extra: Compared to previous reappearances where it was the main threat of two-parter episodes and a strong opponent capable of giving Ultras a tough fight, Gymaira here is a Disc-One Final Boss for it, killed off early on to showcase how powerful Trigger is.
  • Disc-One Final Boss: Gymaira is initially shown as the main threat of "Leap to the Future" but is quickly defeated by Trigger, not soon after the real main threat of the episode, Darrgon, shows up.
  • Tongue Trauma: Its tongue appendages get sliced up by Trigger.
  • The Worf Effect: Gives a good fight to the GUTS Falcon and even gets to bind it with his tongue appendages, but is quickly killed by Trigger with a point-blank Zeperion beam to establish the power of the Ultra.

    Clitters/Gazort

Gazort

Portrayed by: Shinnosuke Ishikawa (suit actor)

https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/ultraman_tiga_gazort_render_1_by_zer0stylinx_denwvlv_fullview.png
"Transformation Dark Monster"
A powerful monster born from atmospheric creatures known as Clitters that were mutated by Hudram in an attempt to destroy Ultraman Trigger and GUTS Select.
For tropes pertaining to Gazort in general see Ultraman Tiga
  • Art Evolution: Due to using a stage show suit, it has a brighter blue color in addition to a thinner body compared to the original and a much less wide back structure.
  • Boss Subtitles: "Transformation Dark Monster", as opposed to Gazort's usual boss subtitles of "Transformation Monster".
  • The Bus Came Back: Trigger marks Gazort's first appearance and in a mainline series since its last outing in Tiga.
  • Call-Back:
    • Like the original Gazort, its stated to be the result of atmospheric organisms known as "Clitters" undergoing a mutation due to strange energies into this form.
    • It still has a habit of calling humans "friends", and again that word doesn't mean the same for it as it does for us.

    Okagubila

Okagubila

Portrayed by: Hiroyuki Arai (suit actor)

https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/deobz6s_04ccd97d_3514_45d8_841b_fc4b19bfae15.png
Ancient Underground Beast note
A new land-based subspecies of Gubila and one of many monsters that Trigger faces, with it chasing after a mysterious artifact stolen by Ignis who ends up unintentionally luring the Kaiju into a city.
For tropes pertaining to Gubila in general see Ultraman TV Series
  • Art Evolution: Many parts of its body are now colored a rusty brown or dull black, and it has dirt covering its body, indicating that it is a land-based kaiju as opposed to a sea-based one like the original Gubila.
  • Boss Subtitles: "Ancient Underground Beast".
  • Breaking Old Trends: Holds the dubious honor of breaking the long line of Gubilas getting spared by Ultras or having a sympathetic portrayal, getting killed off by Trigger and having no sympathetic aspects played up for it.
  • In a Single Bound: This variation of Gubila can jump high altitudes.
  • Meaningful Name: "Oka" means Earth/Ground in Japanese, indicating that it is a ground monster rather than a sea one like the regular Gubila.
  • Mythology Gag: With the plot of it chasing after an ancient artifact of the Ultras, Oka-Gubila can be considered this show's version of Geozark, complemented by Geozark itself being a homage to Gubila.
  • Tunnel King: It spent most of its time underground before emerging to the surface due to tracking down an artifact Ignis had.

    Deathdrago

Deathdrago

Portrayed by: Kenji Kajikawa (suit actor)

https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/ultraman_trigger_deathdrago_render_2_by_zer0stylinx_depjr3r_fullview.png
The First Monster
A terrifying monster that appeared six years ago whose rampage was the basis of the foundation of GUTS Select. It reappears in the modern day to continue its reign of terror.
  • Aim for the Horn: In it's backstory, one of Deathdrago's horns was shot off by Shizuma. It returns in the present day, sans one horn.
  • Beam Spam: His method of attack is through dozens and dozens of eletric beams fired in all directions.
  • Boss Subtitles: "Destructive Fierce Dragon" for its normal form. "Destructive Dark Fierce Dragon" for its empowered form.
  • Breath Weapon: After Carmeara empowers it, Deathdrago can also fire electric beams from its mouth.
  • Dragons Are Demonic It's an aggressive draconic creature whose name comes from combining Death and Dragon and its bos subtitles call it "Destructive Fierce Dragon".
  • Handicapped Badass: Losing one of its horns doesn't seem to negatively affect its ability to fire electric beams from them.
  • Hero Killer: Akito's parents, who alongside Mr. Shizuma built the first anti-monster defense weapons and used them, were killed fighting it.
  • Horns of Villainy: Has one massive horn on its head that highlight it being a dangerous beast with fearsome power. It used to have two but Shizuma's GUTS Wing blasted one of them off.
  • Names to Run Away from Really Fast: It's name combines "Death" and "Dragon", giving away that it is a fearsome dangerous monster.
  • Red Eyes, Take Warning: After gaining a power boost from Carmeara, its eyes glow red to indicate how much more dangerous it is now.
  • Shock and Awe: Employs lightning beams to fight its opponents.
  • Small Role, Big Impact: It dies at the climax of its debut episode and is a minor threat next to the Dark Giants, but in spite of being a Monster of the Week, Deathdrago is the one who caused GUTS Select to be founded and it also killed Akito's parents, leaving him an orphan that was adopted by Mr. Shizuma.
  • Spell My Name With An S: His name can also be read as Desdrago at times.
  • Super-Empowering: Gets a power boost from Carmeara after it retreats from its first fight with Trigger, giving it stronger beams and red eyes.
  • Tunnel King: Though it never uses this ability offensively, it can burrow deep enough to avoid detection for 6 years and does it again after its first fight with Trigger.
  • Villains Act, Heroes React: Before Deathdrago's rampage 6 years ago, there was no formal anti-Kaiju team on Trigger's Earth out of disbelief in their existence, its rampage caused the foundation of GUTS Select. Though its sole existence was what prompted Chairman Shizuma and Akito's parents to build (or more accurately repair Mitsukuni's one) their version of the GUTS Wing to fight it in case it ever emerged.
  • You Killed My Father: It was responsible for the deaths of Akito's parents.

    Satandelos

Satandelos

Portrayed by: Shinnosuke Ishikawa (suit actor)

https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/ultraman_trigger_satandelos_render_by_zer0stylinx_depypyj_fullview.png
Planetary Destruction God
A stronger modified variant of Gigadelos that can only stay active for one hour every day and creates a barrier to protect itself from harm.
See Ultraman Taiga for tropes pertaining to Gigadelos
  • Barrier Warrior: It generates a protective energy barrier both while fighting and inactive.
  • Boss Subtitles: "Planetary Destruction God"
  • Hour of Power: Can only stay active for one hour at a time every 24 hours. It maintains a barrier shield up to protect itself while recharging.
  • Obviously Evil: If the name isn't a dead giveaway that this Gigadelos is meant to be used for evil purposes, the red and black color scheme will do the trick.
  • Palette Swap: Its only difference, in addition to the chest shield generator, to the original Gigadelos lies in its red and black color scheme.
  • Red and Black and Evil All Over: Unlike the original Gigadelos, which was meant to be a defense weapon and therefore had neutral orange/purple colors, Satandelos is a bright red/black indicating its status as a planet-destroying weapon.
  • Reforged into a Minion: Originally a planetary defense weapon, it was stolen by Hudram and modified into a planet-destroying weapon under the Dark Giant's command.
  • Shielded Core Boss: To damage Satandelos at all you have to puncture a hole in its barrier and then quickly follow by destroying its chest orbs to prevent it from regenerating the barrier.

    Alien Barossa IV

Alien Barossa IV

Portrayed by: Kiyotaka Taguchi (voice)

An Alien Barossa (fourth overall) that arrives at Trigger's universe, with Ultraman Z hot on his tail after he stole King Joe STORAGE Custom.
See Ultraman Z for tropes pertaining to the Barossas in general
  • Call-Back: It harkens back to the first Barossa by virtue of stealing a King Joe (though he steals the modified King Joe the first Barossa stole) and not being able to talk in Japanese, instead requiring Kedamya's help to communicate.
  • Dimensional Traveler: It arrived into Ultraman Trigger's universe from Z's universe.
  • Hypocrite: As made clear by its Zandrias companion, Barossa finds Ignis deplorable for his thieving ways... Despite he himself being a shameless thief.
  • Pirate Parrot: Befitting a race of space pirates, this Barossa has a companion Baby Zandrias on his shoulder.
  • Pokémon Speak: Like the first Barossa it only speaks its name and nothing more, with its Zandrias companion doing the talking for him.

    Baby Zandrias Kedamya

Baby Zandrias Kedamya

Portrayed by: Kaede Yuasa

A baby Zandrias that works as Barossa IV's pet and partner. As well as his "shoulder parrot" and translator for human communication.
See Ultraman 80 for tropes pertaining to Zandrias in general.
  • Aliens Speaking English: An alien creature capable of human speech.
  • Bird-Poop Gag: Poops on Ignis at the end of the seventh episode for a quick laugh.
  • Boss Subtitles: "Pirate Chick Monster".
  • Casting Gag: Kaede Yuasa had previously voiced Zandrias in Kaiju Girls.
  • Character Tics: Always adds "Mya" at the end of his sentences.
  • Enfant Terrible: A Zandrias chick allied with a thieving Barossa and equally proud of their pirate career. It also shows a very aggressive streak against his foes.
  • Evil Is Petty: Poops on Ignis at the end of the seventh episode as payback for Barossa's defeat and their grudge with the treasure hunter in general.
  • Pirate Parrot: Serves as this for Barossa IV, resting on his shoulder most of the time and doing the talking with humans for it.
  • Screw This, I'm Outta Here: Kedamya promptly bails after his master's defeat.
  • Suddenly Voiced: The first Zandrias (and one of the few kaiju overall) capable of perfect human speech and communication.
  • Voice for the Voiceless: Since its master, Alien Barossa, can only speak his own name, Kedamya serves as the voice instead.

    Powered Dada

Powered Dada

Portrayed by: Yuto Nagachi (suit actor)

A virus version of Dada that acts as one of the many foes that Trigger faces making its presence known by infecting electronics all over the world.
See Ultraman: The Ultimate Hero for tropes pertaining to the original Powered Dada
  • Adaptation Name Change: The Dada Virus is called PDO-3 in this version.
  • The Bus Came Back: While normal Dadas had many returns in the franchise, this marks Powered's version of Dada's first appearance in a mainline series since 1995.
  • Call-Back: To fight Trigger and Z it levitates cars with magnetism and chucks them at the two Ultras, just like the original Powered Dada did against Ultraman Powered in its debut series.
  • Computer Virus: A sentient version like the original but with alien origins this time around.
  • Contagious A.I.: It goes from simply taking over a phone to taking over drones, then security systems, then other electronics before finally making its way to GUTS Select's base and trying to hijack all their systems. When this attempt is thwarted, it moves on to take over King Joe instead.
  • Do Not Adjust Your Set: Dada's modus operandi, by hijacking cellphone signals, taking over communication systems and ultimately relieving attack team of their controls over their weapons.
  • Expy: While it originated as a variant of Dada, its role in the series as a computer virus attacking the Nursedessei, then assuming the form of a protagonist to fight an Ultraman makes it one to Mimos/CRISIS Ghost. Adding to the similarity, at one point the protagonists use a Shoot 'Em Up game to fight it.
  • Villain Override: Takes over King Joe STORAGE Custom's systems to fight Ultraman Z and Trigger.

    Gargorgon

Gargorgon

Portrayed by: Yoshiki Kuwahara (suit actor)

A one-eyed reptilian gorgon kaiju. 30 million years ago it was used by Carmeara in one of her attempts to capture Yuzare, only for the white-clad woman to defeat the kaiju by reflecting her own petrifying attack back at her. She returns in the modern day after escaping its rocky prison.
See Ultraman X for tropes pertaining to the original Gargorgon
  • Adaptational Badass: Downplayed but her petrifying attacks aren't as lethal to her as they were originally and she can break out of them, granted it took 30 million years for that to happen.
  • Adaptational Nonsapience: This version of Gargorgon seems to lack the sapience of the original one, being simply an enforcer of the Dark Giants.
  • Eye Scream: Her eye is blasted apart by Mr. Shizuma's GUTS Wing.
  • Half the Man He Used to Be: Trigger bisects her vertically with Zeperion Sword finish, leaving both her halves to explode.
  • Hoist by His Own Petard: Gargorgon was defeated in the past by Yuzare when the latter used a special shield to reflect her petrifying beam back at her.
  • It Only Works Once: Yuzare's Attack Reflector technique which bested her in the past, fails to work in the present since she just dodges the reflected petrifying beam.
  • No Ontological Inertia: Killing her undoes any petrifications she's previously done or are in the proccess of completing.
  • Sealed Evil in a Can: Was petrified by her own beam in the past and spent 30 million years trapped in her petrified form before breaking out in the present.
  • Taken for Granite: Carmeara awakened Gargorgon in order to petrify Yuzare and bring the woman to her. Yuzare used her powers to reflect the attack back at the kaiju, petrifying it. Later on, Mr. Shizuma's GUTS Wing almost ends up petrified by Gargorgon's attacks, but Trigger manages to kill the kaiju in time to prevent it.

    Zaragas

Zaragas

Portrayed by:: Hiroyuki Arai (suit actor)

A monster detected by GUTS Select which is slumbering beneath Kuwahara City until it gets woken up by Darrgon's stomps and starts rampaging, proving itself a troublesome foe with its adaptive abilities.
See Ultraman TV Series for tropes pertaining to Zaragas in general
  • Achilles' Heel: Cold temperatures can hinder his adaptive abilities by lowering the temperature of his cells.
  • Heavily Armored Mook: A regular Zaragas who had developed a powerful exterior shell, capable of deflecting even Trigger's energy attacks.
  • Shed Armor, Gain Speed: Before shedding its armor its movements are clumsy and sluggish, after casting it off it becomes far more agile.

    Absolute Diavolo

Absolute Diavolo

Portrayed by: Teruaki Ogawa (voice)

https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/absolutediavolo.png
The Second Ultimate Lifeform
A member of the Absolutian race that appears on Trigger's Earth in a bid to obtain the Eternity Core for the Absolutians.
See Ultra Galaxy Fight: The Absolute Conspiracy for tropes pertaining to the Absolutians in general.
  • Animal Motifs: Bulls. He's a horned humanoid with immense strength and his signature attack is "Juggernaut Charging Bull Fist" which manifests as a fiery projection of a bull's head.
  • The Brute: In contrast to Tartarus' refined and calm battle style, Diavolo is more about getting his hands dirty outright. This proves to be his undoing, as whilst Tartarus always made tactical retreats when things start going south for him, Diavolo dismissed GUTS-Select's plan to absorb his energy and ended up suffering a Disney Death at the hands of Trigger, Nursedessei's Attack Mode and Ribut.
  • Brutish Bulls: He's both a Horned Humanoid and has a bull Animal Motif and his signature attack is an energy attack that manifests as a fiery projection of a bull's head and is called "Juggernaut Charging Bull".
  • Disney Death: The combined efforts of Trigger Glitter Eternity, the Nursedessei's Attack Mode and Ultraman Ribut prove enough to blow him to kingdom come... But his core heart survives allowing him to regenerate.
  • Evil vs. Evil: Ends up clashing with the Dark Giants over the Eternity Core, though Tartarus stops the fight before either party can severely harm the other.
  • Gold-Colored Superiority: Like Absolute Tartarus, he's bright golden in color and is a powerful enemy capable of beating even the Dark Giants all at once.
  • Horned Humanoid: Has a pair of horns at the sides of his head indicating his devilish status and bull motif.
  • Light Is Not Good: He's not good despite his bright golden colors, as an Absolutian allied with Tartarus in the scheme to take over the Land of Light.
  • Meaningful Name: A humanoid with a bright gold/white/red/black color scheme called Diavolo who looks like an archetypical devil with his two large head horns.
  • Red Is Violent: Fitting his brutish nature, he has red accents on his body and his Juggernaut Charging Bull Fist takes the form of a crimson energy projection of a bull's head.
  • Resurrective Immortality: It is revealed that Absolutians can revive as long as their Absolute Heart survives the destruction of their body. Which is exemplified after Diavolo is obliterated by the combined efforts of the Nursedessei, Trigger and Ribut. However, there is a limit to how many times they can be killed and regenerate before dying for good and Diavolo loses a second life here as he'd already lost one of his six prior.
  • Super-Strength: He's strong enough to manhandle Darrgon and Hudram at the same time.
  • Underestimating Badassery: His pride in his strength as an Absolutian leads him to let his energy be absorbed, which ends up causing his Disney Death and additionally makes him lose another one of his Absolutian Hearts (of which he had only five left when he arrived in this universe), leaving him with four left by the end, which if destroyed will signify his final death.

    Absolute Tartarus

Absolute Tartarus

Portrayed by: Jun'ichi Suwabe (voice)

Another member of the Absolutians who accompanies Diavolo in his quest to obtain the Eternity Core.
See Ultra Galaxy Fight: The Absolute Conspiracy for tropes pertaining to Absolute Tartarus in general
  • Enemy Summoner: Summons a Parallel Isotope of Darebolic to fight Trigger with.
  • Villain of Another Story: Compared to his large role as the Big Bad of Absolute Conspiracy, he's more of a minor character here, as it's implied he's busy with the plot of The Destined Crossroad as a result of being flung into Trigger's universe at the end of it.

    Darebolic

Darebolic

A powerful superweapon that previously menaced Ultraman Orb. A Parallel Isotope of it gets summoned by Diavolo and Tartarus to cause destruction and draw Trigger out.
See Ultraman Orb for tropes pertaining to the original Darebolic.
  • Demoted to Extra: Like Gymaira it was often the major threat of its previous appearances, with the episodes with it dedicating their main conflict to defeating it, here it is a Disc-One Final Boss within the episode that serves as the prelude to Absolute Diavolo.
  • Half the Man He Used to Be: Trigger Glitter Eternity slices it in half.
  • Small Role, Big Impact: Its rampage and the injuries it ends up inflicting on Trigger are all but stated to have helped Captain Tatsumi figure out Kengo's identity.
  • The Worf Effect: After overwhelming of all Trigger's normal forms it goes down quickly to Glitter Eternity.

    Metsu-Orga

Metsu-Orga

https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/metsu_orga.png
A saurian beast that appears out of nowhere, utilizing a brand new ability to absorb energy of all kinds to prove itself a troublesome powerful foe. It was a monster created by Hudram who went unused for sometime before being reawakened by Trigger Dark's fight with Trigger in the present.
  • Ambiguously Related: It looks and acts as a variant of Woola, but given that it is not classified as that within the episode or through supplementary material a possible relation is for now uncertain.
  • Animalistic Abomination: It looks like a giant T-Rex but with flacid pale skin, has an unending appetite, spends its time giggling as it devours everything and can even evolve into a stronger form with enough energy.
  • Armless Biped: It has no front legs and stands on two legs with a humanoid stance akin to the outdated reconstructions of the Tyrannosaurus Rex.
  • Boss Subtitles: "Legendary Galactic Infernal Beast".
  • Dumb Muscle: Supremely strong and durable, but has no real capacity of thinking or planning, which makes it both efficient as a planetary weapon and a risky gambit for the Dark Giants to use since it could absorb the Eternity Core and go out of control as a result.
  • Energy Absorption: Its main threat comes form its capacity to absorb energy of all kinds, including energy beams.
  • Giggling Villain: Much like Zaigorg, it spends most of its time laughing as it moves around or devours matter.
  • Gone Horribly Right: Hudram exposites to himself how this was the reason that he never unleashed Metsu-Orga before. He couldn't truly control the Infernal Beast and it would be very bad if it ate the Eternity Core.
  • Not Quite Dead: It seemingly goes down at last when Trigger and the Nursedessei blast it with their strongest beams... Only for it to be revealed to have metamorphised into its final form, Metsu-Orochi.
  • Metamorphosis Monster: An interesting example in that it needs energy to undergo metamorphosis, once it has achieved that its new form bursts out straight from its previous body.
  • Palette Swap: As it uses the same suit but repainted and having several modifications on the surface, it is essentially a grey-colored Woola.
  • Planet Eater: Marluru states that it had eaten planets and comets in the past.
  • Red Eyes, Take Warning: It sports a pair of bright, sinister red eyes underlying its status as a malevolent beast of destruction.
  • Sealed Evil in a Can: Hudram left it dormant inside of a rock when he deemed it impractical in the Dark Giants' quest for the Eternity Core, with its rocky prison emerging in the present as a result of Trigger Dark's actions.
  • Villainous Glutton: It is a demonic saurian beast that seeks to eat everything in its path, regardless of it being physical or not.
  • White and Red and Eerie All Over: It has a white/red color scheme and it is a borderline Eldritch Abomination with an unending appetite and which can viscerally metamorphize into a stronger form with enough energy. Not to mention giggling all the time.

    Metsu-Orochi

Metsu-Orochi

https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/ultraman_trigger_metsu_orochi_render_2_by_zer0stylinx_deuioxi_fullview.png
The New Legendary Galactic Infernal Beast
A blue-colored variant of Maga-Orochi that appears to menace Trigger's Earth. It emerges from Metsu-Orga's body, having evolved from the previous monster thanks to the energy it absorbed.

  • Achilles' Heel: The horn on its head gathers and controls the energy it absorbs. Once it's broken, it cannot use its energy absorption as effectively and thus is rendered much more vulnerable to attacks.
  • Ambiguously Related: It looks like a blue Maga-Orochi along with having a similar name, but whether its a subspecies, convergent species, or related at all is never stated.
  • Aim for the Horn: Since it uses its horn to absorb energy, the GUTS-Select's first plan became to destroy it first to weaken it. Despite some problems Trigger Dark brought to their plans, Kengo was able to pilot the GUTS Falcon and destroy the horn with a missile.
  • Barrier Warrior: Has a red barrier that can deflect any energy attacks Trigger and Nursedessei throw at it.
  • Bishōnen Line: Evolves from the visceral, misshapen Metsu-Orga into a more traditional-looking Kaiju.
  • Boss Subtitles: "New Legendary Galactic Infernal Beast".
  • Energy Absorption: Like Metsu-Orga it can eat and absorb any and all energy, this time through its horn.
  • Evil Evolves: Metsu-Orga's evolved form, which manages to be an even more powerful and troublesome Kaiju to deal with.
  • From Bad to Worse: Metsu-Orga was already a strong kaiju, but now it's an even greater threat upon evolving into Metsu-Orochi with its first at being blasting the already exhausted heroes.
  • Outside-Context Problem: Other than Hudram having a faint idea of it coming into existence once Metsu-Orga absorbed enough energy, no one expected this beast to emerge from Metsu-Orga's body after it had been seemingly defeated.
  • Palette Swap: It has the same colors as the original Maga Orochi, but has a predominantly blue-colored body with red undersides instead of the opposite, it also has a grey colored horn.
  • Red Eyes, Take Warning: Like its predecessor, Metsu-Orochi sports a pair of bright and sinister red eyes. They turn white once Kengo breaks off its horn.
  • Superior Successor: Inherits Metsu-Orga's energy absorption abilities but is even more powerful than it, forcing all of GUTS Select and TPU to come together to stop its threat.
  • Taken for Granite: Is subjected to this courtesy of the Gargorgon Key. It doesn't last.

    Segmeger

Segmeger

A monster used by the Terrestral Defense Force of the Ultra-Ancient Civilization that was defeated by Trigger Dark and Carmeara in the past. It appears in a flashback dream of Kengo's.
See Ultraman Taiga for tropes pertaining to the original Segmeger
  • Adaptational Heroism: This Segmeger is a protector of mankind that fought for the Terrestral Defense Force against the Dark Giants despite being killed in the end, a contrast to its original depiction as a planet-destroying bioweapon of aliens.
  • All There in the Manual: Magazines guides state that it was used by the ancient humans to fight the Dark Giants with.
  • Small Role, Big Impact: Shows up for a flashback where its sole role is to be killed by Trigger Dark and Carmeara during an attack on the Ancient Civilization, but it is this battle and opponent the one that joined Trigger Dark and Carmeara.

    Kyrieloid

Kyrieloid

https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/kyrieloidtrigger.png
Yet another foe of Ultraman Tiga that appears on Trigger's Earth, stalking Yuna during its arrival to test her resolve and worth as a savior, but turns hostile once she starts helping Trigger.
See Ultraman Tiga for tropes pertaining to the original Kyrieloid
  • Aliens Among Us: It first appears disguised as a human at the end of episode 18 and subsequently uses the disguise in episode 19.
  • Art Evolution: The new suit's design is much less rough-looking compared to the original Kyrieloids, having a notable lack of black lines running along its white parts.
  • The Bus Came Back: Like Gazort, Kyrieloid had been absent from the Ultra Series for more than 20 years and finally makes its return following its last appearance.
  • Composite Character: This Kyrieloid has the appearance of the first Kyrieloid in Tiga, but also has the wings of Kyrieloid II.
  • Mind over Matter: Has psionic powers strong enough to affect multiple people at once and even Ultras like the Dark Giants.
  • Not-So-Well-Intentioned Extremist: He initially seems like he has good intentions for his tests and that he seeks a "savior", but proves himself a self-righteous jerk once Yuna helps Trigger with Yuzare's power, going on a rampage towards the city.
  • Secret Test of Character: It's responsible for the illusions of episode 18, as he was testing GUTS Select and the Dark Giants to see if they did not give in to the temptations of their greed and as a result qualifies for being "saviors". Yuna was the only member who resisted these illusions and initially was on her way to earn his approval until she interfered to help Trigger against the Dark Giants.
  • Small Role, Big Impact: He only appears in two episodes, but the illusions he caused to the cast including the Dark Giants is the final push for Hudram to betray his fellow Dark Giants and destroy Carmeara's already detoriating sanity.

    Barriguiler

Barriguiler

https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/barriguiler.png

Portrayed by: Kentarou Shimazu (voice)

A blue-coloured platypus-like alien, capable of speech, as a powerful yet noble warrior who likes to eat special food such as Comet Buns he gets enlisted by Hudram to capture Yuzare.
  • Affably Evil: Yuna describes him as a brute with a warrior's honour, though he isn't quite evil so much as naive and misguided. Notably, he reacted to Hudram's request for him to kidnap someone with shock and doesn't think of using his navel gem prison against Yuzare until Hudram goads him into doing it, suggesting a strong sense of fair-play.
  • Ambiguously Related: Despite being a blue-colored Gorothunder in appearance, it's never stated if he has any relationship or connection to the red oni at all.
  • Beware the Silly Ones: Much like Gorothunder, who he was repainted from, he's comical both in appearance, personality and mannerisms, but he's a formidable opponent whose strength rivals Trigger's Power Type.
  • Catchphrase: “Bzz, bzz, bzzt!”note
  • Evil Versus Oblivion: He isn't really evil to begin with, but once Yuna tells him the truth behind Hudram's plan, he quickly sides with Trigger against the Dark Giant.
  • Food as Bribe: Hudram managed to convinced him to abduct Yuna by using Barriguiler's favourite food, Comet Buns, as payment.
  • Instant Bandages: After Hudram slices his belly button gem off to retrieve Yuna, he gains two crossed band-aids covering his navel in the next shot, which the camera even focuses on for a moment, and retains it until he returns to human size.
  • Palette Swap: A blue-colored Gorothunder.
  • Punch-Clock Villain: He's working for Hudram because the latter promised him a thousand-year supply of Comet Buns.
  • Unwitting Instigator of Doom: His lightning attacks awaken the deadly demon duo, Aboras and Banila, from their slumber.
  • Vile Villain, Laughable Lackey: Barriguiler’s comedic personality provides quite the contrast to Hudram’s ever-deteriorating mental condition.

    Aboras and Banila

Aboras and Banila

A pair of demoniac monsters awakened by Barriguiler's attacks. They prove formidable enough that Trigger and Trigger Dark must work together to stop them.
See Ultraman TV Series for tropes pertaining to the original Aboras and Banila
  • Adaptational Badass: This Aboras and Banila duo is strong enough to the point that Trigger and Trigger Dark are forced to join together to fight them and win. Special mention goes to Banila, who was killed by Aboras in their debut and never fought an Ultraman, but gets to fight Trigger Dark this time.
  • The Bus Came Back: Their last appearance in a show was a short cameo in Ultraman X, discounting their Powered versions. This marks the first major role of the duo in decades since the original show.
  • Butt-Monkey: Banila suffers a lot of abuse this time around, such as being slapped by Aboras so hard he starts spinning out of control, being used as a Human Shield against Trigger Dark's punches and getting strangled by Trigger Dark to force him to breathe fire.
  • Enemy Mine: They start out fighting each other and only being interested in that, but upon being challenged by Trigger and Trigger Dark, they team up to fight the two Ultras.
  • Eye Pop: One of the few live-action applications of this trope, Banila had this expression after being gagged by Trigger Dark.
  • My Death Is Only The Beginning: If they had been blown up like any other past monster, their bodily fluids would have spread all over Japan and maybe even beyond and kill off all life on it, which forces Trigger and Trigger Dark to contain their poison and then vaporize it after blasting them to bits.
  • Poisonous Person: Both of them are revealed to have extremely toxic bodily fluids, which means defeating them can cause untold amounts of pollution to the area if handled improperly; this is the reason why the ancient people only sealed them in capsules instead of killing them.
  • Sealed Evil in a Can: Both were sealed in special capsules by ancient people, mainly because destroying them would have spread deadly poisonous fluids all over the land that would kill off all life. They got freed by Barriguiler's thunder attacks.
