Valkyria Leadership

    Tenma Nozomi

Tenma Nozomi

https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/tenmanozomi.png

The primary Supporting Protagonist of Strike it Rich. Nozomi was once a professional MMA Fighter who was about to make it into the Major Leagues until the discovery of a detached retina ended her career on the spot. Now 27 years old and unemployed after failing to make a living for herself as a street fighter, Nozomi creates the Valkyria Underground Fighting Organization alongside her longtime friends as brand new business venture.

    Iori Ichika

Iori Ichika

https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/ioriichika.png

A member of the Metro PD Juvenile Division and childhood friend of Nozomi. She helps Nozomi start up Valkyria using her resources as a police officer, hoping to eventually leverage the organization as a way to (re)join her department's Anti-Organized Crime Unit.

  • Ax-Crazy: Zigg-Zagged. Despite not being a calm person by any means, she isn't prone to unnecessary fighting the way Hina is. When she does fight, however, it doesn't take much to push her to the point where anything and everything up to killing her opponent is on the table.
  • Bunny-Ears Lawyer: Ichika is a unapologetically corrupt cop with a Hair-Trigger Temper and a mouth filthier than a septic tank, but she is a very competent detective and succeeded in building a dense network of connections to rely on even after she got booted from the Anti-Organized Crime Unit. Ichika also somehow single-handedly defeated both Sena Sisters, at the same time.
  • Chekhov's Skill: Despite being strong enough that Nozomi is surprised she would have trouble dealing with the Sena Sisters, Ichika has no interest in doing anything outside of management as far as underground fighting is concerned. It isn't until all other options are exhausted for Valkyria's roster during the exhibition against the Slaughter Colosseum that she finally gets involved with fighting herself.
  • Combat Pragmatist: Compared to every other fighter in the series so far, Ichika doesn't particuarly rely on any martial arts style and seems to lack the stamina necessary to win any contest of endurance. Instead, she perfers to use every dirty trick in the book combined with excessive force to end the fight as quickly as possible. This is best shown in her match against Sara, where Ichika subdued the masochist by repeatedly slamming her skull against solid concrete, proceeded to then pull a page out of Akoya Seishu's book by using her shark-like teeth to chomp down on Sara's throat, then when that wasn't enough, Ichika dug her hand under Sara's sternum to obstruct her diaphram long enough for the crazed Konshin practioner to inevitably pass out via Erotic Asphyxiation.
  • Crouching Moron, Hidden Badass: While not exactly stupid, she's quite the slacker and easily angered. She's also an extremely competent detective, when she, Nozomi and Hana went to a martial arts gym in high school was easily the strongest, and as a cop managed to inflict a Curb-Stomp Battle at the Sena Sisters, at the same time.
  • Dirty Cop: And how. She sells the police department's confiscated items, used her position in the Gang Unit to help Hana's Yakuza family, and recruits delinquents she's encountered from the Juvenile Division as fighters for Valkyria. It is even her title when she is fighting during the Slaughter Colosseum exhibition.
  • Horrifying the Horror: "Murder Queen" Karen Watanabe is noted to have killed at least one opponent, and Yuzuha admits she may have not become champion of the Slaughter Colosseum had Sugaya not decided to keep Karen in reserve due being too psychotic. But when she sees Iori fighting, Karen is glad it's not her who had to fight the cop.
  • Irony: When she starts to slam Sara's head against the fight arena's wall one of the reactions among the shocked crowd is a yell for someone to call the police.
  • Muscles Are Meaningful: It's shown during her fight with Sara that Ichika has a fairly muscular build compared to Nozomi and Hana, and by Nozomi's own admission she is the strongest out of the three of them (or at least was, when the three trained together.)
  • Nominal Hero: It is more than a little telling that one of her primary goals is seizing a terroristic cult's stockpile of chemical weapons into police custody and she still can't be considered more than morally grey at best.
  • Non-Standard Character Design: In contrast to the other main characters, Ichika is not conventionally attractive, having sharp teeth and beady eyes. This becomes even more apparent with how often her face distorts whenever she is excited or angry, to the point of almost dipping into Gonk territory.
  • Scary Teeth: All of her teeth sans molars are extremely sharp to the point of resembling shark teeth, though it isn't really Played for Horror until her fight with Sara, where they get special emphasis right before she bites into her neck.
  • Unstoppable Rage: To the point where just seeing her angry enough convinces Hana and Riko that her fight with Sara is as good as done, and they aren't too far off with that assumption.

    Mitani Hana

Mitani Hana

https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/mitanihana.png

Nozomi's other childhood friend who is the current head of the declining Jinguuji Yakuza family, inheriting the role after the sudden death of the previous boss. She uses what underworld connections she has to aid in the start up of Valkyria as a way to bring in more income to her struggling organization.

  • Heroic Sacrifice: In order to stop Nozomi from participating in the exhibition against Slaughter Colosseum since everybody else was still recovering from injuries from the last tournament, Hana decides to enlist herself instead in spite of the fact that she apparently has not trained in combat since high school.
  • Nervous Wreck: She is prone to start freaking out whenever she thinks her, Nozomi, or Ichika are in danger. The most notable example is when they first meet (and kidnap) Hina, where she quickly becomes absolutely terrified by her.
  • Parental Favoritism: Chairman Niwa was Sworn Brothers with Hana's old man and treats her as if she was his own flesh and blood. This is the reason why no mob has ever made a move on the Jinguuji even while the organization was in decline prior to Valkyria's creation, as no one in their right mind was willing to draw Niwa's wrath by messing with her. Chapter 19 has the Niwa Clan's second-in-commands outright spell out that the Chairman has been supporting Mitani's family behind the scenes, and approves of Valkyria, just to make clear how off-limits the Jinguuji Family is.
  • Yakuza Princess: Her father was the Jinguuji family's previous boss and her mother was his consort. The position of new boss immediately falls on her after her father's death, even though she really wasn't equipped to handle the role.

Valkyria Fighters

    Hongou Hina

Hongou Hina, Takahashi Hina, The Revolution Princess

Click here to see Hina's Game Face

The Dreaded Main Heroine of Strike it Rich. Hina is a genetic freak of nature born with inhuman physical strength who was adopted by Takahashi Chogen: the Glorious Leader of a ultra-militant religious cult known as the "Army of God", which plotted to overthrow the Japanese Government in a grand coup d'état before the sudden death of Hina's father derailed the entire conspiracy. While Hina was taken in by a wealthy family after the Army of God's disbandment, the fact that she had combat training drilled into her by the cult's very own Special Forces Unit meant that she was deemed enough of a threat to be placed on a government watch list...at least until an order from up-top was given to cease her surveillance posthaste.

Against her better judgment, Nozomi personally recruited Hina to serve as Valkyria's first real fighter after realizing that they needed a charismatic headliner to help draw in crowds. Hina ecstatically agreed, seeing the fledgling organization as an opportunity to finally test her might against other skilled fighters.

  • Affably Evil: Hina is a highly dangerous individual with dubious ambitions beyond sating her intense bloodlust. That said, she does possess some redeeming traits to her name.
    • Hina is genuinely respectful to the fighters she deems worthy of her attention, as shown by her tremendous admiration of Nozomi, and to a lesser extent, the participants of Valkyria's first official tournament. Hina even seems sincerely apologetic when she tells Yuzuha she can't join her and the Sena sisters for a night out since she has class the next day.
    • Hina also upholds her end of the deal to hand over some of the Army of God's WMDs in exchange for Nozomi and the others providing her opponents who can challenge her. That said, Hina never explicitly agreed to hand over all of the chemical weapons she has stockpiled. According to Ichika, the schoolgirl still has more than enough to take out the entire mainland if Hina really wanted to cross that line, much to Nozomi's abject horror.
  • Ax-Crazy: If it's not obvious, you can tell by the fact that she's ecstatic at the prospect of fighting and using threats to get what she wants.
  • Blood Knight: Absolutely loves the thrill of battle.
  • Catchphrase Insult: Hina exclusively refers to any fighter she deems as inferior to her as a "slowpoke."
  • Charles Atlas Super Power: Hina was groomed by the deadliest soldiers within the Army of God's ranks in the art of Rikudou, granting her the ability to maximize her already exceptional physicality by utilizing advanced combat techniques that requires being a Master of Your Domain. In her fight against Yuzuha, she contracted her arm tendons to their absolute limit before letting go, creating an insanely amount of kinetic energy, resulting in an immensely powerful punch, knocking Yuzuha out and causing her to bleed profusely from her mouth, nose, and eyes. This technique is called Rikudou: Sunder Heaven.
  • Combat Sadomasochist: Hina can get incredibly euphoric whenever she faces someone she considers a Worthy Opponent, regardless if she's beating them to a pulp or vise versa. Even while describing the pain of having her foot stomped in by Yuzuha, her choice of words makes it sound like she just had her virginity taken.
Hina: It's been sooo long since I've had a new "first time!" Even after aaalll the times I've been hurt...I've never broken my foot before! It hurts. Sooooo much. I feel like...clammy? Clammy and dripping with sweat. Moving is super tough. It sucks. Thanks sooo much, Miss Yuzuha. This is an amazing experience.
  • Contrasting Sequel Main Character: Is one to Tokita Ohma. Both are the main fighters of their manga, but they couldn't be more different if they tried.
    • Hina is an outgoing, bubbly teenage girl, while Ohma is, at the start, a withdrawn and rather rude adult man.
    • Hina is a slender, fair-skinned, and of rather average height, with pink hair and, most noticeably, star-shaped pupils. Ohma, meanwhile, is muscular, tall, and thuggish in appearance, with a jet-black mop of messy "Seaweed" hair.
    • Both have No Social Skills, but show it in different ways. Hina is rather detached and airheaded, speaking in a Valley Girl vernacular while being far too buddy-buddy with everyone around her, while Ohma is near-Literal-Minded combined with The Comically Serious, speaking in a blunt, somewhat inarticulate way where he constantly flubs names.
    • However, Hina is, deep down, an Ax-Crazy psychopathic combat junkie in the skin of a cuddly schoolgirl who wants to lead a violent revolution against the government and has no issues with attempting murder. Ohma, meanwhile, has a kind heart beneath his rough, scrappy exterior and is able to form legitimate friendships, show courtesy and respect, and even has occasional moments of selfless heroism.
    • Hina is motivated by wanting someone to beat her, while Ohma seeks to prove his strength against the best of the best.
    • Hina lives a normal-ish life outside of fighting, going to school and living in a simple apartment. Ohma, meanwhile, was effectively a homeless person who lived in a run-down, dilapidated mansion in the middle of nowhere by himself.
    • Ironically, Hina participates in a bottom of the barrel startup underground fighting organization while Ohma is a fighter for what may as well be the most clandestine and important underground martial arts organization in the world.
    • Their approaches to fighting are very different, as while both are Strong and Skilled, Ohma actually uses the versatile techniques granted to him by the Niko Style as often as he can, while Hina mostly prefers to flatten people with raw strength and only busts out her Rikudou when she feels it's worth it.
    • Hina is an explicit superhuman, with abnormal levels of strength, speed, and toughness for someone of her age, size, build, and weight. Ohma, meanwhile, has mostly above-average physical specs for a Kengan fighter, only becoming superhuman when he uses the Advance.
    • Even the styles themselves are different, with the Niko Style being a very versatile, yet incredibly difficult to master, form of fighting with techniques for many situations. Rikudou, however, is primarily designed around using Finishing Move after Finishing Move with the aim of killing the opponent.
    • Nozomi is actively terrified of Hina and actively tries to keep her placated, while Kazuo is supportive of Ohma and greatly respects him.
  • Determinator: She insists that she can still participate in the next tournament even with her left foot in a cast and practically begs Nozomi to let her join even while recovering.
  • Face of an Angel, Mind of a Demon: She looks like a cute high school girl but is a frightening bloodthirsty warrior underneath that.
  • Feel No Pain: Downplayed. While Hina appears to have a normal pain threshold, it is her pain tolerance that is nearly inhuman. When Yuzuha stomps on her foot and breaks it, Hina notes how painful it is, but is otherwise still able to put weight on and even kick with it
  • Game Face: While Hina wears the outward appearance of a Perpetually Smiling Genki Girl, she's a full-blown psychopathic combat junkie who only lets her true nature slip out whenever she's actively threatening someone or currently enthralled in a really intense brawl. After Yuzuha successfully breaks Hina's foot during their match, this escalates into a horrific Nightmare Face that puts Hina's insanity and bloodlust on full display.
  • The Greatest Style: Hina is a practitioner of Rikudou, a esoteric mixed martial arts style developed by the Army of God's Special Forces members with a focus on both armed and unarmed combat. But how this gives Hina an edge over other MMA practitioners is that Rikudou's techniques are specifically designed around killing their opponents, which the world of Underground Fighting has no rules against. This is Deconstructed, as the lack of challenging opponents in her life meant that Hina rarely had the opportunity to break out these techniques since she could end a majority of her fights utilizing her inhuman strength alone. Give her a reason to break out Rikudou however...
  • One Degree of Separation:
    • She goes to Koyo Girls Academy alongside the main cast of How Heavy Are the Dumbbells You Lift?. The end of Chapter 16 shows Hina even attends Satomi Tachibana's World History class.
    • The Army of God is the same cult of religious extremists who Hajime Hanafusa sabotaged by assassinating their leader Takahashi Chogen while he was still serving as a wetwork operative for the Japanese Government in Kengan Ashura.
  • Red Baron: Before Valkyria, Hina was universally feared as the "Deadliest Schoolgirl in Japan". After joining Valkyria, Hina fights under the ring name "Revolution Princess", referencing how she was at the center of a plot to overthrow the entire Japanese Government.
  • Spirited Competitor: A dark example. The only thing Hina seems to want more than spearheading a ultraviolent revolution against the Japanese Government... is fighting tooth and nail against combatants who can actually give her a run for her money. Whenever she meets someone she deems a Worthy Opponent, Hina genuinely praises their strengths, relishes every second she gets to go blow for blow against them, and sincerely looks forward to challenging them all over again regardless of who wins.
  • Super Powerful Genetics: Hina is essentially in the same boat as Wakatsuki Takeshi in terms of possessing inhumanly strong muscle fibers that radically improves their strength, speed, and durability. But unlike Takeshi, Hina has far greater control over her individual tendons as proven by her "Sunder Heaven", which is essentially the "Blast Core" technique but specialized to use only the muscles in just one arm.
  • Uncanny Valley Girl: Anybody who has seen Hina in action knows that there is something seriously wrong with the girl. Nozomi, Hana, and Ichika are all terrified of her, Riku immediately catches on that Hina was gunning for killing blows during the tournament and confronts Ichika for holding out info on who they were really dealing with, and Yuzuha outright calls her a "homicidal maniac" after their match. Just to drive the point home, Karura Kure, the pinnacle product of a generations long Super Breeding Program by a ancient clan of contract killers, refers to Hina as a monster after seeing her walk by during a visit to Koyo Girls Academy in a bonus comic.
  • Unskilled, but Strong: A complex case. Thanks to her militant upbringing under the Army of God, Hina actually was drilled in close quarters combat and the art of modern warfare by the cult's Special Forces Unit. But since she never had the proper opportunity to fight anybody who was on her level, Hina let these techniques languish in favor of just using her raw strength to knock out her opponents with a single punch. This is how Nozomi caught her in a straight ankle lock despite the significant gap in power between them, since Hina kept gunning for full power swings that left big openings in her defense that could be exploited. That said, the second Hina does decide to break out one of her "Rikudou" techniques, the results are terrifying, as Yuzuha can personally attest to.
  • Valley Girl: She was adopted by a rich family and attends the affluent Koyo Girls Academy, acts like an upbeat ditz whenever she's not actively trying to harm people, and has a tendency to playfully draw out her words akin to the stereotype this trope is named after.
  • Villain Protagonist: Despite being Valkyria's lead fighter and face of the manga, Hina is more like a ticking time bomb that the other protagonists are trying to defuse by throwing more fighters at her, either to keep her bloodlust pointed away from them, or to force her to cough up the chemical WMDs she's hidden. In other words, Strike It Rich is not about Hina's rise to the top, but Nozomi and the others' attempts to pull her down.
  • Worthy Opponent: Hina is utterly captivated by Nozomi due to the latter being the first person she has ever met that she couldn't take down. When Nozomi confronts her over ending her matches way too quickly via Curb-Stomp Battle, Hina jumps at the chance to suggest that Nozomi herself should fight her next if she wants to showcase a more even matchup and immediately attacks the woman to prove her point. Hina even decides to use the remaining locations of the Army of God's Chemical Weapons as a bargaining chip to try and convince Nozomi to agree to a rematch, and failing that, find her somebody who is actually on her level if not stronger.
  • You Are Better Than You Think You Are: Part of the reason why Hina is hyper-fixated on coaxing a rematch out of Nozomi is because the latter is the first and only "slowpoke" she has met that she couldn't just steamroll over. An intriguing paradox that makes her genuinely believe that Nozomi is capable of far more than she's willing to admit, especially when the older woman consistently exceeds Hina's expecations as a fighter.

     Sena Riku

Sena Riku

https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/sena_riku.png
Younger of the two Sena Sisters.

     Sena Riko

Sena Riko

https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/sena_riko.png
Older of the two Sena Sisters.
  • Defeat Means Friendship: Losing to Lee is enough to earn her Riko's respect, to point of cheering her on during her match against Hina, and even hanging out with her after the tournament.
  • Dumb Muscle: It is extremely common for her to barely understand whatever point her sister is making, and it becomes something of a Running Gag that she will simply nod along, in reality being completely confused.
Riku: Don't treat me like I'm a cretin, Iori. Right sis?
Riko (Thinking to herself): Cretin? Creatine?
  • Force and Finesse: The Force to Yuzuha's Finesse. She relied more on her sheer brute strength and combat instincts lacking any fancy fighting techniques.
  • Literal-Minded: Comes off as this a lot when she doesn't really understand her sister bringing up certain terms.
  • Muscles Are Meaningful: Compared to her sister, Riko is notably slower, but her larger frame lets her shrug off almost any hit and makes it extremely hard to even make her flinch without a strike with a lot of force behind it.
  • Smart Jerk and Nice Moron: Has this dynamic with her smarter, potty-mouthed sister.
  • Unskilled, but Strong: Comparatively unskilled as despite her greater physical strength, her bulk actually works against her and she has far less maneuverability than Lee, resulting in Riko getting rung out.

     Lee Yuzuha

Lee Yuzuha

https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/yuzuha_lee.png
A professional Chinese Kung Fu martial artist and Grand Champion of the Slaughter Colosseum's Female Division.
  • Anime Chinese Girl: Lee is a petite Chinese woman skilled in traditional martial arts, speaks with a notable accent, and sports a Qipao during her underground fights (even if it is just for show by her own admission.)
  • Force and Finesse: The Finesse to Riko's Force, Yuzuha relied on her agility and precision in combat despite lacking in raw strength.
  • Hero of Another Story: Before joining Valkyria, Yuzuha was the reigning champ of the Slaughter Colosseum, a long established fighting organization backed by one of the three biggest crime syndicates in Japan. The Colosseum apparently features a quality of fighters "leagues above" what Valkyria could scrounge up, and Yuzuha somehow bested them all relying on nothing but Kung Fu during a time when more "modern" fighting styles dominated the ring.
  • Heroic Rematch: Already wants the first runback against Hina. Time will tell if she gets it, along with her victory.
  • Let's Get Dangerous!: Outside of fights Lee comes off as an eccentric, almost airheaded individual prone to serving as comic relief. When she does get into fights, she is a surprisingly tactical Combat Pragmatist who leverages her fighting style to do a lot more damage than would be expected for her size.
  • Mighty Glacier: As a practitioner of Traditional Chinese Kung Fu, can hit extremely hard, but her style's deep, rooted stance also precludes the kind of agile footwork favored by more modern martial arts.
  • Only in It for the Money: Played for Laughs. Yuzuha's initial motivation for joining Valkyria was to score the prize money so she can gamble her winnings in some harebrained scheme involving a fixed horse race, but after losing her fight against Hina, she decides to sign on to Valkyria as a mainstay specifically for that aforementioned runback.
  • Professional Gambler: Desperately wants to be one, as she states she has a friend who can (supposedly) always tell or predict the outcome of horse races before they happen. As a result, she hopes to bet all her winnings from her fights on horse racing and become a billionaire.
  • Proud Beauty: She's downright offended when neither Sena Sister can recognize her in her "personal outfit", exclaiming that her looks and skills should make her unforgettable while also striking her signature poses (including the crane kick).
Yuzuha: HAVE YOU FORGOTTEN ALREADY?! IT'S ME, ZHE GORGEOUS KUNG FU GIRL! YUZUHA LEE, IN ZHE FLESH!
  • Tap on the Head: Apparently getting Hina's equivalent of Ganondorf's Warlock Punch ("Rikudou: Sunder Heaven") to the face, bleeding from every orifice (including her bloodshot eyes which briefly turn white), then splatting face-first with enough force to shatter the hard surface and remaining there without anyone coming to her immediate aid wasn't enough to keep her down for more than… a few minutes. Not long at all after leaving the ring, her face is completely fine and she simply has bandages on her forehead, plus she's acknowledging what a monster Hina is and how she herself really wants enough prize money to win at easy gambling and become a billionaire. Reality Ensues when she still needs time to fully recover and so has to sit out the next tournament.
  • Weak, but Skilled: She's only "weak" compared to Riko, but her nimble technique, angility and form actually allow her to ring her out.

Slaughter Colosseum

Sanba Family

     Inoue Sugaya

Inoue Sugaya

Patriarch of the Sanba Family and the first real Arc Villain of Strike it Rich. Inoue is the manager of the Slaughter Colosseum, an established Underground Fighting Organization, and sees the Jinguuji Family's involvement in Valkyria's creation as a brazen attempt to intrude on his business.

  • Arch-Enemy: He's this to Mitani Hana, seeing both her and the entire Jinguuji Family as weaklings that need to be squashed before they can become serious competition to him and the Colosseum.
  • Arc Villain: Sets his sights on tearing down Valkyria after Yuzuha, a Slaughter Colosseum champion, decides to join them.
  • Big Bad Wannabe: He's very clearly playing with fire in going against Hana, knowing full well that her protector and benefactor Chairman Niwa would have his head (perhaps literally) if he ever found out. He's understandably terrified just being in the presence of the Chairman's two highest subordinates.
  • Gonk: Some of his crazier maniacal expressions delve into this territory, making him look deformed and deranged.

Slaughter Colosseum Fighters

     Hazuki Yuu
  • Ambiguously Evil: She and her mates are confirmed killers, though the circumstances and context remain an utter mystery, and in any case, they seem to have only ever done it when it was actually allowed.
  • The Brute: Bound to be, considering her immense size.
  • Dumb Muscle: Averted, she actually seems quite observant and doesn't appear to take the competition lightly.
  • Evil Is Bigger: She's a professional killer and she looks more like a female equivalent of Bruce Banner's Hulk than She-Hulk.
  • Final Boss: She is set to be in the closing fight for the current tournament and will be going up against Riko.
  • Red Baron: "Patchwork Monster".
  • Scary Stitches: Her face is criss-crossed with Frankenstein-esque stitched scars, befitting her title.

     Yukihira Sara

Yukihira Sara, Pestilence

https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/yukihira_sara.jpeg

One of the three confirmed killers within the Slaughter Colosseum's ranks. Yukihira Sara is a practioner of Konshin Style Karate and was specifically selected by Inoue in his plot to crush Valkyria in an exhibition match. While she only has one kill to her name, it is said that anyone who fights her never fully recovers.

  • Ambiguously Evil: Sara is a Combat Sadomasochist and Narcissist who is a practitioner of a fighting style so deadly that none of her opponents ever fully recover from a fight with her. That said, she is significantly more of a masochist than a sadist, and it doesn't appear that she purposefully attempts to kill her opponents, with the one time she did being an outlier where she "lost herself in the fight" according to Akinobu.
  • Battle Aura: Has a impressive one that manifests multiple arms during her match against Ichika.
  • Combat Pragmatist: Her style of full-contact Karate is defined by its dedication to pragmatism, allowing any and all techniques that would normally be considered forbidden by other schools. Considering Sara has a reputation for permanently crippling her opponents, she has clearly embraced the Konshin Style's tenants to an extreme degree.
  • Combat Sadomasochist: Revealed to be the primary reason why Sara is so devoted to Konshin Style Karate and fighting in general. She's an exteme masochist who can only feel beautiful when she's enduring immense bouts of pain. Since her fellow Koshin practitioners pride themselves on not pulling their punches just because their opponent might be a woman, Sara was able to get her jollies off while persevering through their notoriously brutal training regimen. This also enabled her to No-Sell many of Ichika's strikes and deliver even more punishment in kind all while sporting an expression of derranged arousal during their fight.
Sara: I'm the most precious when I'm suffering. ♡
  • Duality Motif: Both her hair and personal attire share the same White/Black motif.
  • The Fighting Narcissist: Sara's extreme masochism goes hand in hand with her own extreme narcissism. While she clearly loves taking a beating, the constant high praise she got from both her sensei and the men in her class over being able to tank those hits better than any man twisted her self-esteem to the point where she feels that she can only be at her "most precious" when she's enduring pain during a brawl.
  • Hidden Depths: Its revealed after her fight with Ichika that Sara was initially offered the hit request to kill Hana during her exhibition fight but outright turned down the offer, implying that she either considers intentionally killing her opponent a line she refuses to cross or she values fighting for its own sake more than money.
  • Red Baron: "Pestilence".
  • Valley Girl: When faced with the crude and cocky Iori, she lets out more than one dramatic "Ugh" and says she simply "just cannot."

     Watanabe Karen
  • Ambiguously Evil: She certainly gives off malevolent vibes, and she and her mates have each killed at least one opponent before, but the circumstances and context remain an utter mystery, and in any case, they seem to have only ever done it when it was actually allowed.
  • Beauty Is Bad: An incredibly stunning and dangerous fighter who believes that Valkyria should only present a problem if the fighters aren't allowed to go for the kill.
  • Blood Knight: She states with an ominous smirk that dealing with Valkyria shouldn't be an issue… unless there's a no-kill rule.
  • Face of an Angel, Mind of a Demon: She is a gorgeous blonde, and though it's hard to tell just how "evil" she is thus far, she's notably killed more than one opponent in the past.
  • Red Baron: "Murder Queen", implying she's killed the most out of her team.
  • Slasher Smile: She has a terrifying one when her face is still partly obscured.

Secondary Characters

     Toujou Ran

     Kawakita Itsuki

     Army of God Instructor

????

https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/the_instructor.png
An enigmatic woman who raised Hina and several other young girls from childhood to be the ones who will "mother the new world."
  • Ambiguous Situation: Unclear whether or not she is alive, considering Hina refers to her in past tense, though that may simply be because she hasn't seen her in a while. Depending on the answer, she's either left behind a Villainous Legacy or she's Hina's Greater-Scope Villain.
  • Nightmare Face: Easily rivals Hina herself. Even scarier in that we never see her eyes.
  • Slasher Smile: Oh, yes. It's easy to see where Hina got it from.
