    The S.E.A.L.E.D. team
Tropes relating to all 11 of the S.E.A.L.E.D. members.
  • Long Lost Sibling: All 11 of them, as well as The End, grew up together as siblings in a research experiment.
  • The Mole: 5 of the 11 party members, and it changes for each playthrough, are secretly working on behalf of The End.
  • Ragtag Bunch of Misfits: They are fairly divided and none of them knew (or more accurately, remembered) one another when they first met.
  • The Squad: They are an elite team of soldiers who, unlike the rest of the world's military forces combined, are capable of fighting to stop The End.

    Sho Kasugai
Voiced by: Yusuke Yamamoto (Japanese), Michael Sinterniklaas (English)

Awakened With The Power To See Visions Of The Future
The primary hero. His Gift is "Vision". For some reason, The End holds a strong grudge against him.
  • The Chosen One: Deconstructed, he is the chosen one no matter what, which as it turns out is why The End envies him, and the choices he has to make weigh heavily on himself.
  • Combat Clairvoyance: How he uses his Gift in-battle. The "Combat Senses" ability gives him a chance to shoot an enemy that is targeting him before it attacks. The "Premonition" ability has the same effect and also ends that enemy's turn.
  • Critical Hit Class: Many of his abilities are based around critical hits, containing various special attacks with a high critical rate, buffs that boost critical rate, and passives that do the same.
  • The Hero: He's the main hero and the one who determines who the traitors are.
  • One-Hit Kill: The "Mystic Shot" skill has a chance of instantly killing the target.
  • Pinball Projectile: The “Ricochet” skill allows him to pull this off by using a vision to see how his bullet will bounce.
  • Telepathy: He can hear the thoughts of his allies after each mission, but he can't tell specifically who's the traitor unless he uses his "Deep Vision" ability, which he can only use a very limited number of times through the entire game.

    Himeno Akatsuki
Voiced by: Rumi Ōkubo (Japanese), Janice Kawaye (English)

A Pyrokinetic Who Can Turn All To Ashes
An aloof, distant girl whose Gift is Pyrokinesis.
  • Action Bomb: Her "Sacrificial Nova" skill.
  • An Ice Person: Her second skill tree is Deep Freeze.
  • Defrosting Ice Queen: She starts off as very cold and distant, but gradually opens up if you advance her bond.
  • Fiery Redhead: Literally if not in personality.
  • Having a Blast: Her third skill tree, Combustion.
  • Playing with Fire: Her Pyrokinesis Gift.
  • Power Incontinence: Himeno had very little control over her powers as a child, and would often end up burning anything important to her. As a result, she developed a tendency to distance herself from others in order to keep them from getting hurt.
  • Spell Blade: "Hellfire Miracle" adds a Fire-element to her normal attacks, increasing damage.
  • Squishy Wizard: Along with Yoko.
  • Tsundere: The final scene of her bond route has her show feelings towards Sho, only to suddenly start calling him stupid instead.

    Toya Orbert

A Gunner Who Can Bend Bullets To His Will
A young man with the power of Magnetism.

A Girl With Limitless Physical Strength
A girl with super strength.
  • Girlish Pigtails: That are also drills.
  • Glacier Waif: She's a young, thin, cute girl, and also one of the physically strongest characters thanks to her Gift. Played for Drama when you learn more about her: she values cuteness above all, but considers her Gift un-cute, which causes her to have self-esteem issues.
  • I'm Going to Hell for This: She will say that she's probably going to hell for it if you complete Deep Vision with her and she's a traitor. If you haven't maxed out her bond, she'll tell you she'll see you there before she's erased.
  • Make Some Noise: Her "Sonic Crush" ability.
  • Meaningful Name: A girl obsessed with cute things and a surname that is just one letter off from "kawaii".
  • Mighty Glacier: She and George are powerful offensively and defensively, but are limited by lower move and attack range.
  • Ooh, Me Accent's Slipping: Mana isn't British, nor has she ever been to Britain. She just uses the accent because she thinks it's cute.
Sho: Whether the accent is cute or not, doesn't that depend on a person's taste?
  • See You in Hell: Her response if she's correctly eliminated as a traitor before the fourth floor, or if you haven't fully bonded with her.
  • Super-Strength: Her Gift.

    Sojiro Sagara

A Madman With A Healing Touch
A young doctor. His Gift is Healing.
  • Blue-and-Orange Morality: Sojiro only believes in the absolute power of medicine. He even admits that his way of thinking is outside of conventional morality, but he doesn't regret killing his patients that he couldn't heal with medicine.
  • Combat Medic: Sojiro has decent defensive stats and a strong heal-over-time self-buff; these combine with his eventual "inflict all ailments on standard attacks at a low rate" skill to make him a surprisingly strong tank. His status effect tree makes him more of a Deadly Doctor. Given his backstory, this is rather fitting.
  • Even Evil Has Standards: Sojiro has a very twisted mindset regarding his practices, but no matter how twisted they may be, he is still disgusted with the atrocities The End is willing to commit.
  • The Medic: As expected of a doctor.
  • Morally Ambiguous Doctorate: Because Sojiro only believes in the power of medicine, if he finds himself with a patient that can't be healed by medicine, he kills them so that their cause of death is murder rather than the failure of medicine.
  • Nominal Hero: See Morally Ambiguous Doctorate. At the end of their bonding, Sho vows to stop him. How Sojiro reacts depends on whether or not he's a traitor.
  • Status Effects: The offensive half of his skill tree focuses on this. Of note, putting at least one point into each skill of the "Side Effects" tree gives all his attacks a chance to inflict any status effect.
  • Teen Genius: He received his medical license at age 17.

    Zenji Maeda
Voiced by: Tomoaki Maeno (Japanese), Michael Sorich (English)

A 'Sympathetic' Man Who Can Copy Others' Abilities
An abrasive young man with the power of Synchronization.
  • Ambiguously Brown: His skin tone is a bit darker than the other characters, but his name is Japanese.
  • Attack Reflector: Learning every skill of his Brutality skill tree grants the Brutality passive ability, which reflects a portion of damage onto the attacker. This also applies to other effects like healing and buffing.
  • Creepy Child: Judging by his evaluation, he traumatized at least two people who were examining him.
  • Hard Work Hardly Works: His view. Because his ability lets him copy the abilities of others, he doesn't think much of people who work hard.
  • Irony: Despite his outward disapproval of the others, his skill is dependent on cooperation.
  • Jerkass: He's not very pleasant, to say the least.
  • Power Copying: One of his abilities allows him to use the Gifts of whoever he's Linked with.
  • Short-Range Shotgun: He has the shortest normal attack range of all gun users.
  • Sir Swears-a-Lot: Curses more than anyone else.
  • White Hair, Black Heart: Downplayed. He's a Jerkass, but he does warm up to you eventually.

    Marco Barbato
Voiced by: Soma Saito

An Introverted Psychokinetic
An introverted young man whose Gift is Telekinesis.
  • Headphones Equal Isolation: He notably wears headphones, and has difficulty opening up to others.
  • Lonely Rich Kid: The adopted son of oil tycoons, he's used to people only trying to get close to him because of his family.
  • Sole Survivor: Of an accident that killed his birth family.

    Yoko Tachibana
Voiced by: Honoka Yahagi (Japanese), Lauren Landa (English)

A Telepath Who Can Interfere With Minds
An aspiring idol singer Gifted with Telepathy.
  • Idol Singer: What she wants to be.
  • I Just Want to Be Normal: She dislikes having Telepathy as she feels that having a direct way to reach the hearts of others will hold her back from reaching their hearts through her songs, and wishes that she could erase her Gift. When you complete her Bond route, she gets over this and accepts her Gift.
  • I Just Want to Be Special: Why she wants to be an idol singer. On the other hand, she doesn't care for her telepathic Gifts as, in her view, they stop her from putting effort into her songs by giving her an "easy way" to touch people's hearts, preferring to only use them when it's strictly necessary.
  • Mind Rape: Her "Rewrite" skill tree focuses on harming enemies by telepathically forcing harmful thought into their minds.
  • Squishy Wizard: Along with Himeno.
  • Status Buff: Her main purpose is to boost the stats of allies, at least until later in the game where she can learn offensive Gifts.

    Agito Yuuki
Voiced by: Tetsuya Kakihara (Japanese), Ben Diskin (English)
https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/agito_yuuki.png
An Elusive Joker
A laid-back, friendly young man with the Gift of Teleportation.
  • All-Loving Hero: Declares that everyone he meets is his friend, even The End. This can make Sho suspicious of him, but whether or not he's right depends on the playthrough.
  • No Sense of Personal Space: His official bio flat out states he has a "warped sense of psychological distance from others".
  • One-Hit Kill: His "Phase Blade" skill has a chance of instantly killing the target.
  • Teleport Spam: One of his attacks, "Cruel Step", has him teleport multiple times around a target while slashing with his knife.
  • Travel Transformation: His psychic gift is to do this. Willing himself into a mist form, allowing him to move over gaps and bypass doors and obstacles. Many of his special attacks also take advantage of the gift, such as warping behind an enemy to strike, or rapidly attacking from different angles. Later, he can even transport others, such as bringing the entire party to a specific location, or when he’s about to be attacked, he can swap places with a different enemy and make them take the hit. Should he be chosen for erasure, the Fate Materia he leaves behind will allow anyone else to gain the ability in his place.

    George Jackman
Voiced by: Kenta Miyake (Japanese), D.C. Douglas (English)

A Man Who Claims The Power Of Objects As His Own
A passionate man Gifted with Psychometry.
  • Armor-Piercing Attack: His "Helm Breaker" skill ignores the target's VIT, or defense, at the cost of him taking more damage from a counterattack. The passive skill "Top Guard" allows him to use Helm Breaker for his own counterattacks.
  • Eagleland: Type 1. Even when he's a traitor.
  • Emotions Versus Stoicism: He is highly enthusiastic while pretty much everyone else in the team, with the arguable exceptions being Agito and Mana, is rather stoic.
  • Gratuitous English: In the Japanese version. The English version replaces it with Gratuitous Japanese instead.
  • For Great Justice: Basically the main reason George does anything.
  • Katanas Are Just Better
  • Large Ham
  • Mighty Glacier: He and Mana are powerful offensively and defensively, but are limited by lower move and attack range.
  • One-Hit Kill: His "Zantetsu" skill can instantly kill Mech-type enemies. His "Neck Slasher" skill also has a chance to one-shot any target.
  • We Hardly Knew Ye: Guaranteed to be the first Traitor, and the first Judgement is fixed so you can't influence the vote, so he's guaranteed to be erased after the first floor. Averted in New Game Plus, where the first Traitor is randomized just like every other floor.

    The End
Voiced by: Takahiro Sakurai (Japanese), Matthew Mercer (English)

Agent Of The Apocalypse
The mysterious man threatening to destroy the world. It's him that SEALED is climbing the tower to fight.
  • Big Bad: The man SEALED is fighting to stop.
  • Death Glare: Frequently throws these Sho's way.
  • Exposition Fairy: As you build up your bonds with your characters, his child form appears to Sho and only Sho from the past and starts explaining piece-by-piece what's actually going on with the game's backstory. In a first playthrough, you can only meet this mysterious white-haired boy once, but then in New Game Plus, he'll start appearing again each time you max a bond with another character. He then appears again one last time in the Golden Ending. This is actually directly the opposite of his adult form, who only rarely provides a glimpse into his motives, other than that he hates Sho. In fact, if you reach the top floor without having eliminated any traitors, he expresses his joy in the idea that Sho will die alone in complete ignorance before watching with glee as Sho is stabbed to death by one of the traitors.
  • Faux Affably Evil: The End speaks to SEALED very politely, but Sho can sense the hostility behind his glare. The End also goes out of his way to stir up suspicion between SEALED, forcing them to erase each other and threatening to nuke the entire world. Oh, and he's killed two billion people before the game even begins. And all those deaths meant nothing to him, since all he wants is revenge against Sho.
  • Hidden Agenda Villain: While his status as the Big Bad is without question, we don't get a hint as to his motives until the final battle. A New Game Plus gives more insight.
  • It's Personal: It becomes clear very early on that he holds a grudge against Sho. In fact, it's so obvious that none of the SEALED members suspect Sho of being a traitor as a result.
  • Karma Houdini: Big time. So, this genocidal terrorist, in the first minutes of the game beginning, is described as having killed over 2 billion people… and at the very end of the game, he merely forgives Sho for his actions and that's it.
  • Nononsense Nemesis: As mentioned above, he really isn't interested in going into deep explanations of his plan or a lot of banter otherwise, other than some glaring hints that he hates the main protagonist.
  • Only Known by Their Nickname: He calls himself "The End", but his real name is left unknown. Even when his child form appears, his name is never shown, and it's pretty unlikely that he was known as The End at that time.
  • White and Red and Eerie All Over: He's the main villain, and he has white skin, white hair (with red tips), and a red cape (with a black interior, just to make him look even more evil).
  • White Hair, Black Heart: His hair also has red tips.
