Main Characters

    Pat
https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/ezvs7kbndofzlwbedzwf6a_4.jpg
Pat is a young alligator whose birthday is today. However, he believes that his family is out to kill him, and he asks you for help to uncover what "The Event" of that evening might be.
  • Absurd Phobia: Pat is scared of his large family, hallways, the dark, parties...
  • Accessory-Wearing Cartoon Animal: Unlike the other alligators (who are either fully or half-dressed), Pat only wears a bandana and a hat. Lampshaded when he mentions his "usual shoeless, pantsless nature" prior to the Sole Searching minigame.
  • Be Careful What You Wish For: He thought someone was out to kill him. It wasn't his family, but the "Investigator" he himself hired.
  • Catchphrase: "Cheese and crackers".
  • Fatal Flaw: His paranoia. After all, after reading a messy newspaper that was in fact a hitman contract, he accidentally puts a hit on himself, which gets him killed in the Bad Ending.
  • Leitmotif: Pat's Theme, a tense and fast-paced piano piece fitting his anxious personality, which plays during all of his minigames.
  • Lovable Coward: Pat's afraid of everything and everyone, but he's so awkward and goofy you can't stay mad at him.
  • Manchild: As mentioned under Older Than They Look, Pat behaves much like a very sheltered child. He's twenty-four; quite young, but nowhere near young enough to still be acting like he's in middle school. Another character notes that he "kind of dresses like a preschooler".
  • Nervous Wreck: The game is kickstarted by his request to prove his family is trying to kill him. His panicky nature predates this and his resulting impulsiveness is ultimately the reason why someone is trying to kill him.
  • Noodle Incident: Appears to attract these like a lightning rod, if his family is any indication.
  • Older Than They Look: Pat has the appearance and temperament of a sheltered grade-schooler. He's 24 years old.
  • The Paranoiac: Pat fears that everything and everyone is out to kill him.
  • The Pirates Who Don't Do Anything: His profile in the family tree says he works in biotech, but this is never really brought up anywhere else in the game and he isn't shown doing anything related to his job.
  • Properly Paranoid: Zig-zagged absolutely everywhere. Conversations with his relatives make it very clear that Pat has always been extremely paranoid, fearing imminent death from a variety of extremely illogical sources. Naturally, his latest concern that someone is trying to kill him are viewed dubiously by the rest of his family. This time, he's right - but only due to a staggeringly unlikely coincidence that resulted in him placing a hit on himself. If not for that, he would have still been just as wrong as always.
  • Tears of Joy: He cries from happiness when he realizes that his family wasn't really planning to kill him, but to throw a surprise birthday party for him.

    The Investigator
https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/player_lateralligator.jpg
Pictured: The Investigator's wrist
A stranger that listens to Pat's woes, and agrees to help him uncover what "The Event" is. They seem to be a private investigator, however we learn their true occupation in the finale.
  • Ambiguous Gender: The Investigator is referred to with gender-neutral language throughout the game; even Gentle Lorenzo mixes in female names while subjecting the player to a bro-related Hurricane of Puns. The character customization screen at the end reveals that they are male by default, but the player is free to subvert this as they see fit with both masculine and feminine customization options, leaving the ultimate decision up to you.
  • Badass in a Nice Suit: Wears a rather-snazzy black suit with white pinstripes, and happens to be a dangerous assassin.
  • Beware the Quiet Ones: They don't hesitate to interact with the other cast members, but their conversations with them are limited to a few basic questions. They're a Professional Killer who's been contracted to kill Pat.
  • The Big Guy: Of both the physical and metaphorical variety. On the one hand, they own virtually every scene through their presence alone, and several characters comment on their rather imposing visage. On the other, if the proportions seen during the final minigame are accurate, they're likely taller than 99% of the cast. They positively dwarf Patnote , who is of average height.
  • Book Dumb: Played for Laughs. The ad they place in the newspaper is worded very strangely, but this is most likely to facilitate the misunderstanding that causes the whole plot. They have no such problems with diction or grammar anywhere else in the game.
  • Chekhov's Gun: The Investigator's notebook, which is used to ask questions, is brought out at the very end of the game - with one thing left to do; "FINISH THE JOB."
  • Cold Ham: Done impressively well, especially since they technically don't actually say anything outside of SMS conversations with Pat. Their body language conveys a somewhat over-the-top of businesslike precision, regardless of whether they're doing something serious or playing Towers of Hanoi with pancakes. Best seen during Bobby Blue-Eyes' minigame; first, when they pull out a massive combat knife to play Five-Finger Fillet instead of using a harmless spoon, and then after, when they coldly, surgically bandage Bobby's "fingie."
  • Cool Shades: Going by how they remove a pair of these every time they enter John Johnny's, it can be assumed that they're usually wearing them.
  • Everyone Calls Him "Barkeep": They're never given a name at any point; as such, they're referred to as The Investigator.
  • Expy: To Agent 47, being a stoic, mostly-silent assassin in a classy suit.
  • The Faceless: While the Investigator's arms, legs and body are all seen at various points, you never get a look at their face. Eventually subverted at the end of the game; you get to customize their appearance at Pat's party.
  • Face of a Thug: Several gators comment on their imposing presence and intimidating visage, but they're willing to help Pat and his family with their various problems. Turns out to be a subversion; they're actually a hitgator, making their scary exterior entirely appropriate.
  • Fan of the Past:
    • Fittingly enough for someone who's investigating an imminent murder, the Investigator seems to have somewhat retro tastes in fashion and technology. Prince and Princess Valentino comment on their suit being out-of-season, they use a flip phone despite several other characters using modern smartphones, and their office wouldn't be out of place in a much more straight-laced work of Film Noir*. They also rely on a notebook and pen to take notes on the case.
    • While it could possibly be Played for Laughs (or to keep things child-friendly), their office is filled to the brim with rather archaic weapons (mostly melee) from a katana and tanto above the door, top shelf filled with poison bottles, and battle axes on a umbrella vase/bucket. Nary a single firearm can be seen on display.
  • Heroic Mime: Zig-zagged. They don't hesitate to text Pat or Danny over the phone, and they're implied to be speaking with people when they interview them, but they have no dialogue outside of SMS conversations.
  • High-Class Gloves: Wears a pair of black gloves to complete their get-up, and keeps several spares in their suitcase. Turns out they're handy for a hitman, too.
  • Informed Attractiveness: Pat begins the game talking about your soulful, very visible eyes, and many other gators bring up how they would recognize a face like yours. Nana Rue even nicknames you doll. Specific attractions come from Terry the bartender, who gives you his number, and The Knife, who attempts to ask you out at Pat's party after deciding to cancel his previous.
  • Kubrick Stare: Implied; many characters comment on the Investigator's imposing visage and "very visible eyes." The only time you actually see their face, they're smiling, making it hard to say for sure.
  • Large and in Charge: It's easy to miss, but there are several moments that suggest they are massive compared to everyone else.note
  • Leitmotif: "Main Theme", the game's Recurring Riff, is also associated with them; several remixes of it are used for the various minigames, and a Dark Reprise is heard when they have a change of heart and save Pat.
  • Private Eye: Pat enlists their assistance as one in figuring out who's trying to kill him, although their main occupation is being a Professional Killer funny enough.
  • Renaissance Man: Throughout the course of the game, the Investigator can display skill at a variety of activities, ranging from arcade machines to grill maintenance to logic puzzles.
  • Punny Name: The Investigator.
  • Slouch of Villainy: During Prince and Princess Valentinos' minigame, they assume this posture while doling out the inheritance.
  • The Stoic: Their interactions with the rest of the cast tend to be rather short and to-the-point, even in direct conversation. This is best seen in their SMS conversations with Pat and Danny, where their replies are nearly always under three words long.
  • Walking Spoiler: Virtually everything about them beyond what the game tells you to start with is a spoiler.
  • Wall of Weapons: While not a huge arsenal, they are shown to have a quite the varied assasination tools and weapons on his wall. From a katana and tanto above the doorway, to a shelf filled with poison bottles and an umbrella vase that has a battle axe and wood-cutting axe.

Pat's Main Family

    Angelface
https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/angelface_lateralligator.jpg
Pat's infant younger sister.

    Baby Faced Constance
https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/constance_lateralligator.jpg
Nana Rue's older sister, and mother of Black Widow and Bobby Blue Eyes. A player of Old Maid, but she tends to get antsy if someone's looking at her cards.

    The Barbershop Quartet
https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/quartet_lateralligator.jpg
Four singers, consisting of Tony's brother Maurice, Joanie and Jared's parents Denise and Patrice, and Geraldine's father Luis. Although only one of them is blood related to Pat, they (and their children) are all considered family.
  • Barbershop Quartets Are Funny: Nearly all of their dialog is given in rhyming song, the neighbors have been complaining about their noise, and their minigame has them competing for the most solo time.
  • Honorary Uncle: Luis is a family friend, not a relative, but is still part of the family regardless.
  • My Friends... and Zoidberg: Luis aside from having a non-matching name tends to speak last after the others and messes up, not echoing their sing-song "Hello~" in their introduction and delaying in giving his family badge.
  • Theme Naming: All of their names end with the same sound.

    Big Mama
https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/bigmama_lateralligator.jpg
Pat's great-grandmother on his mother's side, and the eldest (presumably) living member of the family.
  • Tarot Troubles: She has her own (Alligator themed, obviously) deck of cards, she'll give you a reading if you encounter her on the 9th district.

    Black Widow
https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/blackwidow_lateralligator.jpg
Pat's aunt on his mother's side, and the mother of Prince, Princess, and Skids Valentino.
  • Black Widow: Never outright confirms that she killed her husband, but is very insistent on having a séance to hear her husband's testimony, before she has to go home and flush some evidence down a toilet.
  • Comedic Sociopathy: Absolutely everywhere, and not just in her own interactions; in the twins' minigame, it is shown that their parrot had learned the phrase "Help! Help! I'm being poisoned!"

    Bobby Blue Eyes
https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/bobby_lateralligator.jpg
Pat's uncle on his mother's side. A (supposed) tough guy that hangs out in a seedy bar and dishes out threats.
  • Boisterous Weakling: Puts on the airs of a tough, no-nonsense bruiser. When in reality he's a such a weenie that he bursts into tears hitting his finger with a spoon.
  • Tender Tears: Lets some loose when he hurts his "fingie" with his spoon.

    Diamond Alice
https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/alice_lateralligator.jpg
A four-year-old that loves all food that has the word "cake" in it, especially pancakes. She's also Lil' Giovanni's younger sister.
  • Big Eater: A tiny little girl who can put away 3 giant stacks of pancakes.
  • Towers of Hanoi: What her puzzle is based on, although her version uses pancakes.

    Derry
https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/derry_lateralligator.jpg
Pat's nerdy cousin, and one of Bobby Blue Eyes' sons.
  • Permanently Missable Content: The only time he appears is when Pat calls the player back to the hotel to help with a problem. If the player doesn't interact with them before talking to the hotel's waiter, they'll be gone until the next run of the game.
  • We Hardly Knew Ye: As a result of his D&D style minigame being Dummied Out, you barely share a conversation with him before getting his badge and moving on with the plot.

    Gentle Lorenzo
https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/lorenzo_lateralligator.jpg
Lorenzo and his Bird Bro, Tiny Terrence
Pat's Big Little Brother, who's dedicated himself to an extreme fitness regimen. Always seen with his bird best friend, who he's been trying to help get fitter.
  • Big Little Brother: Younger than Pat by three years, but physically much bigger. Lampshaded when he refers to Pat as his "little" brother.
  • Dumb Muscle: Very fit and not very intelligent, as shown when he stops counting at nine hundred and three because it's "the highest number he knows".
  • Lovable Jock: As friendly as he is obsessed with fitness.
  • Verbal Tic: Can't go one sentence without calling you some punny nickname featuring the word 'Bro'.

    Good Ole' Clancy
https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/later_alligator_clancy.png
Pat's grandfather on his mother's side. He works as the tram operator that takes the player around Alligator New York City.

    Lil' Giovanni
https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/giovanni_lateralligator.jpg
A soda connoisseur, and yet another of Pat's cousins, being the son of Tony's musical brother.
  • Gargle Blaster: Some of his drink concoctions seem less than safe. He describes one as dissolving his last baby tooth with a slide whistle sound effect.

    Horace, the White Widower
https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/widower_lateralligator.jpg
Black Widow's spouse, who recently died due to very mysterious and possibly intentional circumstances.

    Lovely Maria
https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/maria_lateralligator.jpg
Pat's mom, who's been trying to fill out a complete family tree.

    Martha
https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/martha_lateralligator.jpg
Papouli's deceased wife.
  • Posthumous Character: Is dead before you meet Papouli, and unlike The White Widower, you don't even get her Family Badge alongside her spouse's.

    Nana Rue
https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/rue_lateralligator.jpg
Pat's grandma on his mother's side. The owner of an antique and curiosities shop. Also a fan of Old Maid.
  • Comically Missing the Point: Considering she runs a shop dedicated to the supernatural, she seems totally oblivious to all the ghosts haunting baby Angelface.

    Papouli
https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/papouli_lateralligator.jpg
Pat's grandfather on his father's side. Misses his dearly departed wife. And his incarcerated mistress.
  • Amazon Chaser: His mistress is quite sizable, and a certified martial artists on top of things.

    Prince and Princess Valentino
https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/valentinos_lateralligator.jpg
Prince on the left, Princess on the right
Twins, cousins of Pat, and rich celebrities. Their parents are Black Widow and the recently-deceased White Widower.

    Skids Valentino
https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/skids_lateralligator.jpg
The younger sibling of Prince and Princess Valentino.
  • Lonely Rich Kid: Implied; it's apparent from the interactions with his siblings that his side of the family is well off, but they don't appear to pay much attention to him and he also doesn't seem to have many friends.
  • Practically Different Generations: He's 14 years younger than his siblings.
  • The Unfavorite: His mom barely seems to remember he exists.
  • White Sheep: His mom's nicknamed The Black Widow and his siblings are spoiled twerps. Skids, on the other hand, is just a nice kid who wants to win hide and seek.

    Slick Mickey
https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/mickey_lateralligator.jpg
A street hustler, and one of Bobby Blue Eyes' sons.
  • American Accents: He speaks with a slightly exaggerated New York accent. Suitable, considering his street persona, and the fact that he lives in Alligator New York City.
  • Con Man: He wants to be, but let's just say he needs some practice.
  • Harmless Villain: He's not very good at being a street hustler, to say the least.
  • Hates Being Touched: Played with. He probably doesn't mind being touched, but advises against it, on account of his skin condition.
  • Shell Game: His minigame attempts to be this. "Attempts" being the operative word.
  • Younger Than They Look: With his bulky build, and street-like demeanor, you'd think Mickey would be, at least in his mid-twenties or thirties. Turns out, he's 18 years old, just six years younger than Pat.

    Two Ton Tony
https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/tony_lateralligator.jpg
Pat's father, a teacher who uses dad jokes in every interaction.
  • Grilling Pyrotechnics: The goal of his minigame is to avert this. The problem arises from the grill in question being a ridiculously over-the-top hulk of metal with about four or five things that could be going horribly wrong at any given moment.
  • Hollywood Mid-Life Crisis: Heavily implied to be going through one; his absurdly monstrous grill is a way of coping with it, but it doesn't seem to be working.
  • Mid Life Crisis Car: Or, in his case, a Mid-Life Crisis Grill, but the same principle applies. It's an absurdly enormous, shiny tank that's so complex it has at least two alligators living inside of it to keep it running!
  • Sad Clown: Tony makes dad jokes at virtually every opportunity, but with a twist - they typically end with an existentially depressing subversion. He eventually acknowledges that he uses comedy to mask his pain.

Pat's Honorary Family

    Aiden
https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/aiden_lateralligator.jpg
Tin Lizzy and Mona's older brother. Spent all his money to try and surpass his mortal shell via mysticism.
  • Ascend to a Higher Plane of Existence: Well, he's trying to. If you help him out, he succeeds... sort of.
  • New-Age Retro Hippie: Played outrageously straight. He believes in meditative powers and crystals, is implied to have blown a lot of his money on scams, and appears to be homeless, living in an alley next to a dive bar in the bad part of town. Double Subverted, in that there actually is something to.. whatever he's doing.
  • Permanently Missable Content: Getting him stoned will leave him that way for the remainder of the run; you can't retry his minigame after that.
  • Power Floats/Glows: Should he successfully surpass his mortal shell, he hovers in the air and glows. These appear to be the main effects.
  • Taken for Granite: Swatting him instead of a bug during the final part of their minigame makes his spiritual power go out of control, turning him to stone for the rest of the run.
  • The Pig-Pen: He thinks bathing is a way for the man to keep you down. Unfortunately for him, his smell attracts flies.
  • Visual Pun: He's a very stereotypical New-Age Retro Hippie, of the sort who are known to be fond of marijuana; you can get him turned into a statue during his minigame. In other words, he becomes a stoned hippie.

    Dad
The father of Aiden, Tin Lizzy, and Mona. Mona refers to him as her "editor", though he'd rather just read the remains of his mostly clipped-out newspaper.
  • Must Have Caffeine: When the Investigator meets him after helping Mona, he's got a "World's Daddest Dad" coffee mug nearby.
  • Newspaper-Thin Disguise: Due to Mona clipping out the majority of their newspaper, they can look straight through it at the Investigator while reading.
  • Only Known by Their Nickname: Their icon on the family tree is just labeled "Dad".
  • Remember the New Guy?: He (and his space on the family tree) was only added to the game through a patch in April 2021, alongside Mona. Like her, he attends the party but doesn't participate in the photo.

    Gary
https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/gary_lateralligator.jpg
An art forger who befriended Pat when they took a class together at the YACA (Young Alligator's Christian Association).
  • Face of a Thug: Despite fitting the stereotypical image of a creeper down to a tee, he's actually very friendly. He's definitely not doing himself any favors by dressing the way he does, though.
  • Friend in the Black Market: Played for Laughs. He's introduced peering out of a dark corner in an already-dingy, abandoned subway station, asking the Investigator if they want to see "something interesting." However, it turns out he just wants somebody to critique his painting. His probably-highly-illegal forgeries of famous paintings, that is.
  • Nightmare Fetishist: Upon first greeting the Investigator, he immediately compliments their intimidating presence before making reference to a "Creep's Warehouse" he frequently shops at.
  • Starving Artist: Natch. He makes several comments about how his craft has not brought in a whole lot of cash; being paid ten dollars for a commission is a big score as far as he's concerned. This may be why he's skulking in an abandoned subway.

    Joanie
https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/joanie_lateralligator.jpg
A non-binary honorary cousin of Pat's, as their parents are in the Barbershop Quartet. Is dating Tin Lizzy, and considers themself a master of the ol' Pinny-B (pinball).

    The Knife
https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/knife_lateralligator.jpg
A rough, eyepatched, intimidating... counselor that works at Pat's school, who embellishes his image to motivate kids to stay on the straight and narrow.
  • Eyepatch of Power: Has an eyepatch, that he most likely just wears to invoke this trope.
  • Face of a Thug: He definitely looks intimidating, but he's actually a very nice man who works as a youth counselor. His image is implied to be an attempt to Scare 'Em Straight more than anything else.
  • Lawyer-Friendly Cameo: Of Goro Majima. He even uses the same textual "accent" employed by the English localization to bring across Majima's Kansai accent, and his references to Majima are so blatant they almost border on Breaking the Fourth Wall. For starters he directly namedrops Dragon of Dojima, calls himself a Mad Dog, and makes a very direct reference to the "Majima Everywhere System" in Yakuza Kiwami.

    Mona The Snipper
https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/mona_lateralligator.jpg
A moody teenage girl gator who lives downtown. She has little connection to Pat, as Aiden and Tin Lizzy's sister in addition to only being tangentially associated with Lil' Giovanni, but is still available to come to the party.
  • Emo Teen: A snarky, black haired rebel obsessed with taking down the government...or at least saying mean things about the mayor in her self-published zine.
  • Otaku: In addition to anti-mayor propaganda, her self-published zine dedicates equal attention to indie comics and K-Pop musicians.
  • Remember the New Guy?: Mona wasn't included in the original version of the game, with her minigame and space in the Family Tree added after a patch in April 2021. She still doesn't take part in the party photo at the end, although she's in attendance.

    Sweet Geraldine
https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/geraldine_lateralligator.jpg
A young girl whose father is in the Barbershop Quartet with Pat's uncle. A bit of a schemer, particularly when it comes to claw machines.

    Tall Jared
https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/jared_lateralligator.jpg
Another of Pat's honorary cousins, and brother of Joanie. A very tall Alligator, though he's met taller in his life. His whole life is phone-centric, which causes problems when his phone appears to become haunted.
  • Closet Geek: All of the non-photo pictures he has on his phone are alligator versions of various anime.
  • Gentle Giant: Absolutely mammoth in size, but appears to be nothing but a harmless, phone obsessed otaku.
  • Straight Gay: His tastes in anime talk about how cool and handsome they are, how he would like to be spoiled by other men, and him reacting in horror "where his handsome boys went" when said photo turns out haunted.

    Tin Lizzy
https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/lizzy_lateralligator.jpg
A social media blogger that's connected to Pat through her relationship with Joanie.
  • Punny Name: Of 70s rock band Thin Lizzy. Or rather, what Thin Lizzy itself was a reference to: "Tin Lizzy/Lizzie" is a slang term for a car from the first decades of the 20th century.

John Johnny's

    Bub the Waiter
https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/bub_lateralligator.jpg
The head waiter of John Johnny's, Pat's favorite restaurant that he books a room at every year on his birthday.
  • Accidental Hero: Not that he wouldn't have probably done something about it had he known, but Bub being stationed right by the front door is probably the only reason the Investigator didn't assassinate Pat right then and there, since he was otherwise alone in the restaurant. He's also a potential witness when the two of them head to Pat's room, which prevents the Investigator from doing away with their "client" there, either.
  • Amazon Chaser: "Amazon" may be an overstatement, but his girlfriend is Bonnie, the pool player from the arcade; she's bigger than he is - much bigger.
  • Sharp-Dressed Alligator: As expected of a waiter at a classy restaurant, Bub wears a spotless white dress shirt and black dress pants.
  • Tiny Guy, Huge Girl: As mentioned above, his girlfriend, Bonnie, is enormous compared to him. He comments that she's coming by to pick him up after work - literally; not even he knows where she'll put him.

    Charlene
https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/charlene_lateralligator.jpg
A gator that enjoys their solitude.
  • Bookworm: Enjoys nothing more than a good book and some solitude to read it in.

    Tim
https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/tim_lateralligator.jpg
A complete stranger who happens to have extremely similar problems to Pat, as well as the same door passcode.
  • Properly Paranoid: Claims that his family is also trying to kill him. Assuming he's right, it's understandable that he's taken precautions.
  • Similar Squad: A squad of one, that is.

Fun District

    Daryl
https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/daryl_lateralligator.jpg
A gator nicknamed "Chowderpants" after an embarrassing incident.

    Fifthwilliam the Fourth
https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/fifthwilliam_lateralligator.jpg

    Sleazarious
A shady secret society member that wanders the district at night.

    Bonnie
https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/bonnie_lateralligator.jpg
One of the pool players that hang out at the arcade next to John Johnny's. She's also Bub the Waiter's girlfriend.

    Robotrain Fan
A gator that's constantly playing the Robotrain machine, with strong opinions about the movie spin-off.

    Rocko
https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/rocko_lateralligator.jpg
Bonnie's pool partner.

Memorial Park

    Hiro
https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/hiro_lateralligator.jpg
A fan of Mandy's that listens to his performances in the park.

    Jules
https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/jules_lateralligator.jpg
The operator of the Eat-Mergency food stand.

    Mandolin Mandy
https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/mandy_lateralligator.jpg
The guitar-playing host of the game, who plays at the park when not acting as narrator. He's also Pat's roommate.
  • Dude Looks Like a Lady: With his long, flowing hair and feminine looks, it's easy to mistake Mandy for a woman at first glance.
  • Gender-Blender Name: "Mandy" is usually a name given to females, but this gator's a guy.note
  • Rhymes on a Dime: Is always speaking in verse. Except for two exceptions when you get the Golden Ending, he breaks out of his rhyming habit and laughs hysterically when Pat mentions that he "said the thing", and in The Stinger, he informs the audience, "You can go outside now."

    Marty
A crazy gator that seems to live in the BBQ that Two Ton Tony recently acquired.

    Theresa
https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/theresa_lateralligator.jpg
A random alligator at the park that's easily intimidated by the player character.

Unsavory Part of Town

    Linda
https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/linda_lateralligator.jpg
A gator waiting at the "Very Adult Bar" for their online date.

    Slasher and Nice Eric
https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/niceeric_lateralligator.jpg
A pair of gators that are chatting above the seedy bar.

    Terry
https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/terry_lateralligator.jpg
The bartender of the "Very Adult Bar". Somewhat flirty.

GIRLS GIRLS GIRLS

    Gail
https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/gail_lateralligator.jpg
The gator managing refreshments at "GIRLS GIRLS GIRLS", an organization that promotes the accomplishments of women throughout history. She's also a credit risk.

    Katy
The head of "GIRLS GIRLS GIRLS", who reads out the histories of accomplished women from a podium.

    Sal
https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/sal_lateralligator.jpg
A female gator that's trying to motivate herself into being more self-affirmed.

    Teddy
https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/teddy_lateralligator.jpg
A pessimistic gator.

Downtown

    Edgar
A man that says he's a puppet brought to life by the magic in Nana Rue's shop. Or at least, that's his excuse for sitting on a shelf instead of going home to help his wife with chores.

    Sleepypants
An alligator that's fallen asleep in their car. No, really, they aren't faking.

Other Alligators

    Karen
The secretary of the school The Knife works at, who wants to set him up on a blind date.
