* UsefulNotes/AmericanAccents: He speaks with a slightly exaggerated New York accent. Suitable, considering his street persona, and the fact that he lives in Alligator '''New York City'''.

* LawyerFriendlyCameo: Of [[{{VideoGame/Yakuza}} Goro Majima.]] He even uses the same textual "accent" employed by the English localization to bring across Majima's Kansai accent, and his references to Majima are so blatant they almost border on BreakingTheFourthWall. For starters he directly namedrops Dragon of Dojima, calls himself a Mad Dog, and makes a very direct reference to the "Majima Everywhere System" in [[{{VideoGame/Yakuza1}} Yakuza Kiwami]].

* AmbiguousDisorder: He's impulsive and extremely paranoid, but easily places his trust in complete strangers. He acts distinctly childish, ranging from eating soap to requiring assistance to locate his shoes.[[note]]Admittedly from a haunted dresser, but still.[[/note]] Most people will probably assume he's thirteen or fourteen at the absolute oldest, but he's actually ''twenty-four.''

* ComedicSociopathy: Absolutely everywhere and not just in her interactions, it the twins' minigame it is shown that their parrot had learned the phrase: "Help! Help! I'm being poisoned!"

* PunnyName: Of 70s rock band Music/ThinLizzy.
** [[OlderThanTheyThink Or rather]], what Thin Lizzy itself was a reference to: "Tin Lizzy/Lizzie" is a slang term for a car from the first decades of the 20th century.

A random caller on the protagonist's cell phone, who's eager to help guide them through Alligator New York City. [[spoiler:A note on 9th Street reveals their real name is Danny, and helped guide the player as a way to cope after losing his beloved.]]

* LargeAndInCharge: It's easy to miss, but there are several moments that suggest they are ''massive'' compared to everyone else.[[note]]The shadow they cast in the intro looms impressively, and Pat barely comes up to their '''waist'' in his final minigame.

* PrivateEye: Pat enlists their assistance as one in figuring out who's trying to kill him, [[spoiler:although their main occupation is being a ProfessionalKiller funny enough]].

* KilledOffForReal: Getting him stoned will leave him that way for the remainder of the run; you can't retry his minigame after that.

* PowerFloats / [[{{PowerGlows}} Glows]]: Should he successfully surpass his mortal shell, he hovers in the air and glows. [[{{DownplayedTrope}} These appear to be the main effects.]]

* KnifeNut: Keeps a big old combat knife in their suitcase, although it isn't really clear why. [[spoiler:At least, not until the end of the game.]]
